Haha the soft handed ladies at the keyboard part was Gold. Haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Even added the chipmunk voice! Thank you for that.
I use the Helix hex armor 1092 gloves they are great for sharp metals plus the fingers on them rip if snagged instead of taking your finger off.
Merry Christmas !!! to you and youre family, thanks for all the videos
As a Brit with a combination boiler and radiators, I find this fascinating. Always known how central air works but never seen it up close like this.
Fascinating for us Brits. Not a common thing in domestic UK installations (if at all?) Our houses are too small and pokey.
All the duct work needs to be sealed. Sealed duct is way more efficient and a lot quieter.
☃️🧑🎄 have a very Merry Christmas
I'm "learnin'-er-up" some good knowledge to build our own house with, so thanks!
Condensate from efficient furnaces is FKING CRAZY .. I couldnt believe what I was seeing when I discovered that. There was a -10° flash freeze a few winters ago that froze up my condensate line outside causing a backup of water all over the floor that completely dumbfounded me. It wasn't a pint here and there, either .. It was nonstop GALLONS. Drain that crap into a sink or a DWV line. Blows my mind the weird stuff like this that that happens sometimes.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Handyman! 🎄👉🏼
What a load of "hot air" with that title Handy! 🤣jk. How much experience do you have in installing HVAC? Do customers mind that you take longer to install or doesn't matter because of long ongoing total project? 🤔 installed in time heat not needed as well?
Great video handyman! Question: Where did you buy your watch? Do you have a local jewelry store in your area that you buy from or do you know of an online retailer that you trust to buy from?
I get confused when I see the word "mistake" in a Handyman video description. Have a safe and happy holiday!
You must not know anything about handyman work then. Happy New Year.
Let’s gooooo!
🇺🇸🤘 Heck Yeah Handy Dandy 🤘🇺🇸
Pretty cool to see this project come along, I've had to install a couple furnaces, the first one included all the duct work with it. Luckily it's a small house (under 900 sq ft) and has been quite forgiving but in a larger house with more rooms, floors, square footage etc it's much more sensitive if you want a comfortable house, an efficient operating furnace, and above all a safe installation that insures your furnace runs without shutting off. There is a method to the madness and all the HVAC guys are one of the most hateful trades when discussing trade practices. I guess the truth is they don't want to take the time to explain it to anyone because there's a lot that goes into the engineering and designing of the 'system' and mostly because they don't want anyone taking their paycheck. Electricians are high on the list too...and I get it, but comments like "if you don't know what you are doing then you shouldn't touch it" are made...and while I 100% agree caution should be made, I'm asking questions because I'm capable of learning and I'm trying to learn! It doesn't seem like there are many DIY resources for this kind of work beyond the easy items like replacing components. The engineering and designing seems to be out of scope for the DIY crowd. I did read somewhere that you can pay for someone to do the engineering...I could but I can do basic math myself so...why waste the $.
No evaporator coil in this system? I thought in a prior video you mentioned one of the benefits of deleting the boiler was being able to add A/C.
As a handywoman, I told my man that I would rather be touched with soft hands than rough hands.
Dang
How do you know what size the supply and return trunks need to be?
You need to use a calculator to figure that out. Google ductulator. You can also have an hvac company come to your house and do a Manual D design. In fix and flips and remodels you do the best you can to meet the design.
Manual D
Wow... moving up in the world. Bought a new orange dump truck. Congrats. "It sucks and blows...", yeah let me know where you can find one of those.
Do you use foil tape or duct mastic to seal the joints?
I use both. I will show that in the next video.
People keep complaining about the system you're running hear, They should come to commifornia and see all the dual systems on top of roofs lol I have a huge carrier ac/furnace on top of my roof.
That is usually because the house did not come with central air, so they had to add it. My parents house in the 60's in Ca. did not have AC, but it was central heat.
I had my 80% furnace replaced with a 96% one.. TRANE. and they used 3" pvc .. one exhaust to the outside and one fresh air to the cellar and not to the outside. I asked why and they said the cellar was unfinished and unconditioned air . something like that.
Hey Handyman, what is that watch you're wearing?
Submariner
I thought so! Sweet watch! I like that you actually wear it. I have a Tudor Black Bay Pro that I wear but I am on a wait list for an Explorer 2. Keep it up man, I always look forward to your stuff. @@TheHandyman1
Sorry about the house fire. I hope you can get insurance on it.
No fire just a lot of burning combustible air.
These folks don't even watch the video before posting a comment. lol@@TheHandyman1
The price of multi-tool blades is obscene.
It is crazy.
@@TheHandyman1 I switched to bulk blades from Amazon. They work and the carbide ones may be crappier than the Milwaukee carbide, but they still work fine. Who cares if I go through 2 or 3 blades when they're a $1 a blade.
@@warrenmusselman9173that’s exactly what I do.
I have bought in bulk a few times too. 17 blades for the price of one. I wonder if the Milwaukee blade will last 17 times longer than 17 of the $1 blades. Did I do the math right?
Did you have a warm air license
Geuss not
Am missing the fire? Part
Fire? Or burning? Don't skip around the video.
@@TheHandyman1watched what was shown on youtube did not skip around and there was no fire am in Canada so maybe it was censored
It was disturbing watching that hole being cut into those beautiful floors.
I enjoyed this video. Goodbye.
DIY FAU can become a real problem. I used to do safety checks on them, tale of two cities one is a poor area and the other at the beach, the stuff in the poor area the units are in much better shape and not very much ghetto DIY stuff, now the beach it was down right dangerous, handy men doing the work, you see all kinds of crazy stuff to down right dangerousThe people at the beach would not spend a dime on improvements.
So by installing your own system you may know how but not know why, this stuff can kill you.
Hey Handyman, why do you have a toilet seat hanging on the wall n your workshop?
Top secret.
Clearly an experimental wall mounted toilet. I'll bet plumbing it was a nightmare.
It’s a port hole.
It's for the peeing statue.
You should have installed a heat pump! You're causing this planet to warm causing global warming! ****We're all gonna DIE**** Sincerely, Internet Karen
