About three years back I went through a minimalist phase and O decluttered every single fragrance in my collection....nearly 250 bottles. I've had to rebuild my collection entirely and I've regretted getting rid of all my fragrances some years ago so I have a VERY hard time getting rid of any of them now, even if I dislike it. I commend you for being able to analyze your collection and declutter so easily. I never want to declutter another fragrance again as I managed to give myself PTSD over it! Silly, I know but I traumatized myself by doing that and never again! I'm amazed at how attached I was (and still am) to my perfumes. They're an extension of me and my moods, often wearing whatever it is that I'm feeling at the moment (dark, sultry, uplifting, exotic, etc.). So, yeah. No more decluttering for me. I tend to do extreme things on a whim and really trying hard not to do that anymore. I get bored easily and then will act upon that and then regret whatever decision I've made during that phase. Ugh. 😂😂
Wow I can see the PTSD from that! 250 at once is a lot! I don't think I could ever do more than I've decluttered here. Decluttering is something I have to really think a long time about. I will literally start a declutter immediately after the last declutter video, I will then leave those fragrances in a kind of purgatory and just see if I want to use them or if I do wear them whether I enjoy them. That way, I have 6 months with them to decide before they finally leave. I haven't had a regret yet thankfully. 🥰
Thank you 😊 Well, I do not tend to declutter, because my taste really changes a lot and I want to try my perfumes years later again. Anyway, I stopped blind buying...
That's great! I've definitely decreased mine so it is now the minority of the time. It's taken a few years though as I think it's addictive in a way. Blind bits do tend to be the ones that I declutter along with things that I didn't actively choose (declutters from friends, giveaway wins and pr). I think that's very telling. 🤔 Thanks for watching 🥰
I bought Mercedes Club Black for my husband and also wear it myself. I don’t find it to be very strong or projecting (it does last really well on clothes). But I think my sense of smell is weak. I combined MCB with Commodity Gold Expressive and they were nice together. Also was complimented the day I did that.
I did offer it to mine at one point but sadly he's never been interested in fragrance, so he never wore it. I didn't used to think it was strong at all, but the last time I wore it it seemed really strong. I don't know whether mine is older now and stronger than it was 🤷♀️ not sure. I actually think if you aren't sensitive to ambroxan or iso E super or amberwood, then it's probably a winner, I do think the other elements of it are pleasant to me and the overall vanilla benzoin base is a compliment getter. I can see it layering well with another woody vanilla like gold 😊
I look forward to your Saturday morning videos Claire! 🤗 This inspires me to do some decluttering of my own. I have amassed a collection larger than I ever intended. My tastes have changed, and I’m embarrassed to say I’ve had some blind buy fails. Time to dust the bottles and make some listings and even just give away!
Oh thank you! ❤️ Decluttering takes a great deal of mental effort for me, but then I always thing after I've done it, that looking at clutter also takes a lot of mental effort 🤷♀️ I think I have less patience and persistence with fragrance nowadays. I guess I know much more what I like and what I don't and I know if it's not a strong like, I just won't wear it! I have already done a swap with a friend, I'm wearing the new one from her today for the first time 😊 and I have sold some too. I am trying to wear every fragrance from my collection to see whether there are any more that can go. I sorted out all of my samples today and alphabetised them 🤣 it was utter chaos. I'm not sure if this has made it any better... Anyway! Best of luck with your decluttering! 🥰
Thats a pity about the Chopard fragrance Claire. The notes sound lovely. Never heard of shiso but google tells me it's a Japanese herb that smells of mint, basil and cumin. Maybe its the cumin part that you don't like? As far as im concerned cumin belongs in curries only 😂 Thank you so much for the decants. I haven't tried them all yet but wore Lunar Dust the last few days. It's aptly named isn't it? It does have an ethereal other wordly feel. I will get my decants to you later this week 💖
Yes it could be, it's very odd to me and I really wasn't a fan, but the opening was lovely. I retried it so many times trying to love the drydown but no, it just wasn't me! I do think it's a really interesting and well made fragrance for the price though. It's not expensive at all and it shows that interesting perfumes that aren't stuffed full of ambroxan can be made at that pricepoint. No problem, sorry it took me quite so long! I've still not got an interview date yet 🤞 yes lunar dust really achieves what it set out to do, it's ethereal and sparkly, almost opalescent! The iris is done in a really interesting way! I love it and thank you, absolutely no rush! I rearranged my samples yesterday 🤣 wow, it took hours! But I feel so much more organised now 😊 thanks for watching 🥰 have a fab week! X
Hi Beautiful ❣️ I really enjoyed watching your declutter ❤️ I decluttered a lot in 2020 (I regret how brutal I was now) and I don't miss the 2 CK fragrances I ditched. I've always felt the line is predictable and soapy.
Hi Laurel! Yes decluttering can make you feel good but do too far too! It usually takes me a few months to make up my mind what is going and what not! I really haven't got on with Calvin Klein fragrances, although I tried Euphoria this week and I did like that. Ckin2u her was a complicated one, I hated the first bottle that I had and liked the second 🤣 thanks for watching 🥰
That’s a really good declutter ,I actually reached for THE ONE by D&G yesterday and I wasn’t loving it 🤷♀️I can’t believe that something I went through at least 3 bottles of ,I was not enjoying any more TFS and have a great weekend ❤
Thanks Frances! I'm trying to e more ruthless 😂 I guess our tastes change. Maybe the fragrance changed a bit too, I think that's been discontinued a while? I'm not sure! I hope you also have a fab weekend! Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire! I also decluttered that Mercedes Benz. It’s nice but too masculine for me… I sold my Bade’e al Oud Honor and Glory yesterday. I’m trying to get ride of what I don’t like right away now instead of trying to make it work…
I think the Mercedes was just quite aromachemical heavy for me! Just not for me unfortunately. I've tried oud for glory and oud Amethyst, but neither made me want to purchase them, I've not tried honor and glory though. Good that you managed to sell it on and get some money back. Those Lattafas are popular, they are usually easy to resell. 🥰
Hi Claire! I enjoy watching declutter videos, even though I rarely declutter perfumes myself. I'm not one to constantly buy, declutter, and then repurchase... getting stuck in that cycle. It's a pattern many people, especially UA-camrs, tend to fall into. In 2023, I only decluttered one scent. It does feel liberating though, to get rid of something that only collects dust. Surprisingly, I'm not the biggest fan of Calvin Klein either. I like Obsession, Eternity, and Escape, but I don't love any of them enough to purchase a bottle. I’ve been looking for a good peony scent for spring, maybe I should try the Eternity flanker. I adore everything vanilla, but I can't stand that Mercedes bottle; it's just hideous. Regardless of how good it smells, I don’t want it on my shelf.
I think my declutters are mainly failed blind buys, usually where there has been hype and I just don't see it 🤣 The only Calvin Klein's I've had positive experiences with have been Euphoria and ckin2u her but I don't think I want a bottle of either. I would really warn you off Eternity Moment, it's truly one of the most boring fragrances I've ever smelt. Haha I can see that with the Mercedes bottle, but if you love vanilla, I would stay away from the fragrance because even though the vanilla is there, it's also got a tonne of aromachemicals over it 😬 judging by your love of vintage, I'm guessing that you probably wouldn't love that! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Have you ever tried returning a blind buy that didn't work out? Some websites now accept opened bottles, as long as you've only sprayed it once. I'm surprised that I only had one failed blind buy in 2023. I trust your opinion as I also dislike perfumes with lots of ambroxan and synthetic woods. When I see ambroxan in the notes, I know I won’t like it. However, I love amber as a note. I became intrigued when I saw that Sarah Mayes liked the Mercedes fragrance, as she has a bunch of vanilla scents that I enjoy too. Although, I think she also decluttered it at some point. Better to stay away then. I was testing some niche Erba Pura type scents in the summer. I forgot the names, but one was from Micallef. Anyway, it had that synthetic ambroxan base that gave me a headache the moment I smelt it. Needless to say, it was a scrubber.
I haven't tried to return anything. I got Lemon Dulci from Notino so I probably could have done. Yes I think that Mercedes fragrance got a lot of hype... I feel as if most of UA-cam bought it! I tried an Erba Pura clone and i really didn't enjoy it. The musk was incredibly grainy and there was a lot of ambroxan with some extremely unnatural fruitiness. If that's how Erba Pura smells then I am really not interested 🤣 I didn't try M Micallef, but I have seen that they gift to a lot of influencers, so they are well talked about. I have a sample of ylang in gold to try, so I will see what I think! That one is super popular! I am looking forward to it.
Yes I think the only one I've emptied as a room spray was Lattafa Opulent Musk. I do try to resell but the fees now are so high that it's less worth it. Swapping is my current favourite way to declutter but that results in another bottle 😂 which when I'm trying to reduce my numbers, is an issue. Hope you are having a good week 🥰
Hi Claire, I absolutely love your channel and have binge watched so many of your videos! I really appreciate your honesty and integrity. I just watched the interview you did with Jon and found it really interesting, and the part you mentioned about receiving comments from people and making that connection with fellow perfume enthusiasts made me think I should actually write a comment instead of lurking! I'd be really interested to know how you go about decluttering your perfumes and what processes you go through when deciding what will make the cut into your collection. l would also be really interested to learn how you actually sell or move on your perfumes, do you donate them, give away friends/family or sell them etc. I know you sample fragrances a lot more now instead of blind buying so I guess this eliminates such a need to declutter full bottles, I wondered how you go about safely selling on to other people those perfumes that haven't worked out for you. Thanks - I really enjoy your content :) x
Thank you! ❤️ Yes I love to talk to people, it's so useful to have feedback, both good and bad. Thank you for commenting! Gosh this is ironic! I planned that exact video a few months ago but felt the idea needed more developed so I shelved it. On Friday my hard drive on my laptop broke and so I lost this and everything else 🤦♀️ so yes! I will probably do this in time, but not soon as I need to get my new laptop, find new editing software and plan, film and edit some videos. 🤦♀️ There might be a few weeks before the next video as a result. Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Oh no, how frustrating! I'm so sorry to hear about your laptop. I hope it hasn't caused you too much difficulty but I expect it probably has :( Of course, I completely understand and I'm sure we will all wait patiently for the next Claire Smith upload! :) And I will patiently wait with my fingers crossed for your decluttering video! Thank you for all your fascinating content, I can only imagine how much time you spend researching and preparing, never mind filming and editing, so thank you from my little curious brain! I don't know if you listen to The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry on Radio 4/catch up, but I listened to "The Suspicious Smell" Episiode recently and found the section on scent receptor genetics and the pig pheromone androstenone fascinating, it reminded me of your video on skin chemistry, I thought you might find it interesting too :) X
Hi Claire! 🥰 I've always wanted the Mercedes fragrance but the bottle is so distracting to me. I'm not sure what to think of it. And I know what you mean about pulling those roller balls out. At some point, the fuss is not worth the outcome. Hope your finger didn't hurt too bad! Sounds so painful! 😢
The Mercedes Benz was just not for me, I kinda understand the hype over it if you don't mind amberwood and ambroxan but if you do, then it's a huge no. The rollerball lids on those clone fragrances are just not solid enough to pop the tops off like I normally do with rollerballs unfortunately. It's not worth the time and effort. Hopefully someone else can enjoy them! Thanks for watching 🥰
I’ve been decluttering a good bit. Sold maybe 10 so far on Mercari. However my hang up is on so many of my cheapies because much of my collection is made up of those. I have no friends that want them…and I can’t sell them because they aren’t worth anything. I’ve been trying to find a women’s shelter to donate them to (the basically new, perfect condition ones).
I guess if you can't find one to give them to, you could perhaps sell them as bundles? I often see bundles selling very well on eBay, but I don't know about Mercari as we don't have it. This is the problem with cheapies, low hit rate and hard to resell! Thanks for watching 🥰
I betcha we both don't like whatever that cloying thing is in MBMCB - I always blame it on benzoin, but maybe it's the kind of wood you mentioned from the other fragrance. I'm SO sorry you hurt yourself trying to get the roller balls out. I used to use a knife to open my Oil Perfumeries, but now I just use a towel and wrench the whole top off instead of trying to pry it off. I love Helfeti and Ombre Nuit, and they would both make great house scents. I'll just pop round yours and take those lids off quick as you like. Be right there! (I wish!!) Thanks for inspiring me - I really do have too many fragrances that I keep for the sake of keeping them. :(
I don't know if it's amberwood or just straight ambroxan but there's something there I really don't enjoy. The lids of those rollerballs just are too thin and weedy. I normally used pressure against the lids to snap the rollerballs out but these are so tightly wedged there's absolutely no budging them. I can imagine you being very handy and strong 😂 I think I used to just keep everything because I had some fundamental issue and dislike of declutter videos but actually I'm enjoying just letting go, if I don't love these, someone else will! I already did a swap with Em, so it all works out! Thanks for watching Julija 🥰
Hey Claire. I decluttered Kenzo Elixir a few years back. I liked it but something about it didn’t work for me. I used to love Burberry Weekend years ago.
I am decluttering My Way Perfum by Armani. I liked it at the beginning but now I Smell it too cloying and powdery from the iris at the same time. Also, I can feel artificial berries. Thank you for your videos, as always, Claire. 🦋
Good morning ☀️ wow the Mercedes perfume! I remember the hype’s intensity 😂 I could not purchase because it was sold out for so long I ended up forgetting about it lol, set them free 🙌 I have to admit the l’elixir is hurting me 🤣 I actually layer it with TF noir pour femme it adds depth and mystery to the powdered raspberry doughnut 🤣
Haha that's hilarious 😂 I wish I'd known, I could have tried that 🤣 Mercedes club black is back in production, it was discontinued at one point. I do wonder whether it's been reformulated though 👀 if you like male marketed PDM fragrances, that might be for you. If not, I'd not bother with it. 🥰
It pains me that you didn't get on with Mercedes Benz Club Black. I love it and have had my bottle for about four years now. It's divine! It got a lot of hype a few years back and was much more expensive and HTF but now it's all over grey sites and re-sell sites for very little. I need to get a backup bottle while it's going for so little. You're right that Almeer Al Oudh Intense is in the same family. I own that one as well. Also in the same family is Nasheet and Ajayeb Dubai. I own all of them so it's safe to say I love woody vanilla unisex fragrances. 😂😂
Haha, sounds like you are well stocked 😂 I was really excited to try Mercedes Club Black, and I can see why it's loved but there was something that wasn't quite right for me sadly.
Great declutter Claire!! ❤ When you spoke about Eternity Moment, I was almost sure I had a sample of that but when I checked I realized it was Eternity Now- it’s watery as well but with more of an herbal/lavender freshness. I also went and sprayed my little sample of Mercedes Black as you were talking about it, and I still quite like it.. I may never purchase it but it’s definitely giving me a much creamier version of Vanilla 28, which I do already have a travel size of. It’s so nice to pare down to only what you really love- I am currently decluttering many areas of my house including all of my toiletries, hair care, skin care, books, etc.! Making progress slowly but surely 😊
Yes I agree! I've been on a toiletries and makeup replacement only low buy for the last 4 years and I have so much more space! It's great ☺️ I still can't face decluttering clothes, they only leave when they have holes. I think if you are tolerant of aromachemicals, so if you love PDM, especially the male marketed fragrances, BDK and JHAG, then that Mercedes will be a winner! It's back in production right now (it was discontinued at one point I think 🤔) so it's cheaper and easier to buy these days. I can see why people love it, it's an appealing note profile! I've not tried Eternity Now unfortunately, I did try Euphoria the other day though and I quite enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume It truly is! I remember when Frances did her clothes declutter video, it gave me a bit of motivation and I think I did do a little bit, but I need to get back at it! 😅
What's so interesting is that I haven't tried any of these! I feel like a lot of these are not widely available in the US. Other than Burberry & CK I haven't seen any of them in any store. I thought I was the only one who didn't like Delina Exclusif! It smells like incense & wood on me. Delina does something similar, but the wood is more prominent.
That is surprising! I guess I've never seen a lot of these in store in the UK either, but they can be found easily online. I think I struggle in general with PDM, they seem to love ambroxan, and in the male marketed fragrances, they also love iso E super. Meliora is the friendliest I've tried but still not something I love enough to want to own, which is good because they are sooo expensive 🤣
From the Delina range ai like the La Rosee. I think it does not contain much of ambroxan, however, the staying power is also less. But it‘s a very nice peony fragrance, not too heavy, not so overly sweet as the other two in the line either.
Lemon Dulci wasn't for me sadly, but happily I passed mine onto a friend and she loved it and had finished the bottle, so my bottle got a happy ending. 😂
I want to declutter heavy powdery fragrances, they are causing me migraines. The Burberry one is a heavy powdery and animalic to my nose, the Chopard Lemon Dulci has a cucumber note😢, I run away when I see this note in a fragrance construction, cucumber, suede, cactus flower, lotus, these notes usually throw me off😭
Yes the Burberry one is a lot 🤣 I didn't enjoy it and it got decluttered very quickly! It is animalic for sure and heavy! I don't know what I didn't enjoy about Lemon Dulci, the opening I really liked! But yes I agree, Lotus, also champaca calypsone and calone are challenging for me!
Cucumber can definitely be something that can make me feel a bit sick but sometimes it works for me, like in DKNY be delicious, although maybe that was 22 year old Claire that loved that 🤣 not 39 year old Claire...
I only have one perfume with shiso, Fils de Dieu. I don’t even know how it smells like, but the FDD has something that’s kinda off… could be that or some other note… 😂
I didn't try that one, from what I've now read, I think it is shiso. I'm avoiding it in future. 👀 It's clearly something I don't love... Is that a Serge Lutens?
I was curious about the Lemon Dolci since it hs somehow been compared to D&G Devotion and almost bought it because it was very affordable ($16). Glad I changed my mind 😢
Oh wow, I would never have thought of Devotion at all with that one, they are nothing at all alike 😂 lemon dulci is like a cough sweet with a green sappy herbal feel. Devotion is like a lemon drizzle with a very slight tropical feel and a little hint of spice and a tonne of sweet vanilla, which transitions to something between lemon and orange with a more floral feel in the drydown. I think lemon dulci is a nice fragrance, just not one that I like on me. There's nothing wrong with it though. No heavy aromachemicals or anything feeling synthetic. Great for the price, it just depends what you enjoy. 🥰
Hi Claire. Navitus is a much talked about House. I recently tried three samples. I detested all three. Amberwood is in the base of all of them and it overpowers any possible redeeming qualities of the fragrance!! Hamster food?😂😂 I only have a handful of fragrances that I just don’t like…..all middle eastern. Afnan Ornament, Lattafa Ajwad, and Swiss Arabian Wajd. I don’t know what to do with them. They’re so inexpensive that it doesn’t seem worthwhile to try to sell them. Love declutter videos. 😂
Hi Leah! I've not tried any Navitus, I should really before judging, but my friend has tried quite a few and has disliked all of them 🤣 I think it's an influencer thing isn't it, that brand? Navitus have designed the fragrances, then they get a face for them with a popular channel and then get other influencers, who also have fragrances with Navitus, to say how great they are 😂 I mean, I see no bias there... 😉 🤣 Err yes! That Alexandre J would not be my first pick! 🤣
@@dr.claire.perfume I agree! The influencers all hype each other’s collaborations with Navitus. At least I was only partially, stupidly influenced and only bought samples. The Amberwood hangs around forever! It’s off putting and unpleasant.
@@leahmiranda8359 I am so curious too! I do want to try them just to know 🤣 I think there's some weird complex going on here! I see amberwood in notes and I now avoid... But when it's not listed and I smell it... 😬
Early for once 😮 Burberry Weekend sounds nice - I can see why you’d feel a certain way about it 8:42 Ooh 😮 This one has been hyped a lot. Does it have that typical male designer feel? 😬 9:35 Oh no. Lol 11:36 Dihydromyrcenol, ambroxan, amberwoods 😂😂 14:25 The notes are looking fab. I know you’ve talked about it before
Yeah 😬 I just didn't really understand the love for that Mercedes, it has that smell that seems to be a lot of make marketed fragrances. Iso E super and a tonne of ambroxan or related things. I get that people who don't smell those or aren't sensitive to them might love it! That Miller Harris was an instant no 🤣 and yes the little decant I won is definitely looking for new home. I'm never going to pick it up and wear it unfortunately. It's interesting though! I only tried zafeer oud vanille from them other than this one and I liked that, but yeah I would, cos it smelt like cookies baking 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume That’s a shame! None of these are shouting out at me, otherwise I’d have got in touch - apart from Weekend but that’s about it 😅 I hope they all find a good home!
Yes I am pleased to say that my decluttering has been very successful! I have swapped lemon dulci with Em and I've resold a lot of the others, I will gift the rollerballs. 🥰
Hi Claire! 😃 I have Club Black but didn't wear it yet this winter. I have to be in the mood for it... I'll probably declutter more in 1-2 months when Spring gets closer. Both Burberry's I have might end up in that pile. I haven't worn them in at least a year. That brand isn't for me either... Probably will declutter a few cheapies, too... I need space! 😫 and want to keep fragrances I actually wear.
Hello! I wore Club Black in early December and I just didn't enjoy it unfortunately. I thought there wasn't much point hanging onto it. I'm quite happy it's gone, I had probably worn it about 7 times maximum, I have so many fragrances 🙈 With Burberry, I've tried Touch (just not me) and Body (made me think of sour apple juice) and I sampled Goddess in store (it was fine but it didn't stand out for me), I also tried the Her range (I don't actually remember which 🤣) and Black too (lots of peach 😬). Just none for me sadly! Which do you have?
@dr.claire.perfume There's something in that DNA that smells odd on my skin sometimes. Weekend was horrible on me, but great on my mother. It's hers now. I still have Touch and London, maybe not for long. Decluttered My Burberry. Tried Goddess, it was OK. Her Edp, I didn't like, the Edt is OK. Guess it's not the house for me. 🤷♀️
I’m declutterimg thé Cachemire by Dior and Eau Capitale by Diptyque (good fragrance just not for me. It reminds me of a fragrance my dad used to wear in the late 80’s that he probably had from the 70’s really good but just jot reaching for it) where are you selling your fragrances if I might ask? I might be interested in Holy Peony (Holy Peony is sold out in the USA) if you are indeed selling these fragrances 😅😊 ty 🥰
I know what you mean about Eau Capitale, striking but just quite difficult to pull off. I usually sell on eBay or on Facebook. Sadly sending fragrance into or out of the UK is strictly forbidden unless you have a special export or import licence. Holy Peony went quite quickly, thankfully I got my money back more or less 😊
Good luck, I wasn't a huge fan of some elements in it, but Levant by Ormonde Jayne did have noticeable peony to me and it is an incredibly popular one. I don't think I've smelt a good cheaper peony fragrance, I am wondering whether they do actually exist!
I think I may declutter my Beautiful Magnolia. I thought I loved it, but I don't:( not sure why, as I like floral usually. I think the dry down is dull, not fresh if that makes sense. I like declutter videos:) we are only human and can end up with stuff we don't like❤
Yes I think this is it, we all make mistakes. Changing your mind is also understandable as you get to know a fragrance more. I think I tried beautiful magnolia, the Estée Lauder? Have a lovely week Jackie! 🥰
I know! I used to sell in eBay, but they stopped selling me listing offers last year and it's so expensive now (12%). I do still use it, but it grieves me to pay that! I am wondering whether to try Vinted or depop. I have swapped one of these fragrances with a friend and I will give the rollerballs away to people I know... They were pr and it feels wrong to resell them, plus people at work seemed to absolutely love them when I asked them to test them before I made my video reviewing them, so it's nice to give them away.
It's the cucumber in Lemon dulci that I struggle with which is annoying because I LOVE that bottle and on my skin I get tons of mango in the drydown. I haven't sold it yet so I'm tempted to try it again! I never tried the orange one or the magnolia one but I really want one of those bottles in my collection dammit! 😂
Did you try Chopard Love? It's not great if you hate dry fragrances, and some people could think it's old fashioned (I guess pot pourri could be a critical description of it) but I love how there are all the different types of rose there, you can sense them! You also have to like cinnamon. It's compared to Portrait of a Lady. Anyway, I didn't like it to begin with, but it's turned into a love! Let me know if you like the others in the same range as lemon dulci if you do try them! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I looked at love many times but the patchouli put me off - rose and patchouli tend to be a no for me so I thought it was too risky to blind buy!
I don't know what shiso smells like 🤣 please enlighten me! It's something herbal and a little sappy that bothers me but I don't think it's really described by the other notes, so I've no idea!
@@dr.claire.perfume hey Claire, shiso is a variety of mint. It's a bright, green, slightly peppery zingy mint. Wandervogel 27 87 has an excellent shiso note, though, I don't wear it, it is an intriguing reference if you're curious to try shiso. The shiso note is very fleeting in the opening and evaporates completely
@@dr.claire.perfume Reminds me of the "barnyard" smell that is prominent in some older classics. For example, I own and enjoy YSL Kouros and Aramis 900, but I'm too self-conscious to wear them outside the house. Sad, but true. 🤣
Sorry Mel! I didn't know you wanted it, it's been sold already. That fragrance is back in production though! I didn't realise, I thought it was discontinued, but it should be available again. When I bought it, it was virtually impossible to find!
I rearranged everything today as it was total chaos 😂 right now I have it all in alphabetical order by brand. I am feeling more organised now and have a big pile (maybe 40 or more) to try beside me, including yours. I tried Gucci II a few weeks back, I liked it. I've not been doing much sampling lately as I've been ill with a sinus infection (that lasted 4 weeks 😥) and applying for a new job, application took ages, but it's in now and I'm waiting for an interview 🤞 so back to sampling tomorrow now everything is organised 😊
@@melbert3795 thanks! I think Initio is the same company as PDM isn't it? I actually don't know anything about Initio 🙊 I have only tried clones and had one quick spray of ?Amethyst? in Fenwicks Newcastle.

I have a suite of heart focused meditations on my YT channel that are all designed to help calm and balance your nervous system. No matter what you struggle with balancing your nervous system can improve your health.
Yesterday, I forced myself to throw out a tiny vial of the original Womanity. It's a scent I LOVE, but never wear out, and so it was going bad. I also have a strong attitude against hoarding, so ... into the trash it went. Also! An official sample of Zoologist Cow. Wearable and intriguing. Even got a compliment once... but apple, as a fragrance, just doesn't agree with my stomach, so I'm wrestling with that one.
Good for you! I also tidied my samples today and alphabetised them... I also chucked any that had dried up and made a pile to take to give away to friends. That took longer than I care to admit 🤣 Ooh I've not tried Cow, I've tried Nightingale and Harvest Mouse. I agree, apple is a struggle for me too, it's very very rare that I enjoy a fragrance with apple, it's usually a straight no. Good luck deciding! Thanks for watching 🥰
I recently gave my sister Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege and Pear Inc and they smell great on her but on me they were just 👎. Sorry you didn't have much success with those roller balls; I like mixing oils into lotions too
I've been so tempted to try Éclat d'arpège but I haven't done, it doesn't feel like enough a dead cert for me to blind buy it. Pear inc smelt like hairspray on me 🤣 but I don't think jhag in general are a brand for me sadly. I was really looking forward to putting some oil in a moisturiser as I have ones that is so rich and nice to use but I hate the smell of it! So it would have been perfect! Sadly not to be! Hopefully people at work will enjoy them 😊 thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Dr. Smith🌹🙋 Ty for the heads up on the CHOPARD LEMON DULCI. If it leans green, I don't think I'm going to be happy. Off my wishlist!Lol. I'm betting that the LEAST favored fragrance note(s) are the green notes. ????? We're all kinda spoiled and loving gourmands🤷. Maybe its the association with the very popular HERBAL ESSENCE shampoo, etc. Imo, that's pretty where it's best at staying; including after shower scents. Green centric fragrances are just "o.k". ******* I disliked, loved, liked, then disliked AGAIN 😳 AMETHYST. I only wore it in the house. This Fall, I bought OIL PERFUMERY, PDM, inspired, MELIORA. I didn't know it was compared to AMETHYST. I rarely buy without checking on FG, but I did this time. It is VERY close, EXCEPT the dry down is sweet and mellow (the OP interpretation has poor performance). *No way can I afford the OG, nor would I spend the money, even on their occasional sales. I mix the AMETHYST/MELIORA and they compliment each other. I still have no desire to wear, other than at home though. Would I repurchase either...... probably not. Francine
I kept Lemon Dulci for 8 months trying to love it, it feels quite a relief to say goodbye to it! I liked Amethyst but not enough to want to buy it. Again, I liked Meliora but not enough to want it, I can see a clone being a sensible buy for that one! It's so expensive! I did a whole comparison video on those two. I also thought that they diverged from memory. The Amethyst flankers are just not as interesting or striking as the pillar fragrance. Have a fab week Francine! 🥰
Haha 😂 it depends how easily you can resell them or give them away! I still have a few left from this declutter... I will hopefully off load the remainder soon though! ☺️
I almost picked up that Chopard Lemon Dolci at a discount store today. I smelled because I didn’t have many lemon based perfumes. After walking around the store for 45 minutes… I smelled on me again. Nope. Pass.
Yes! That's it exactly for me! I like the opening and each time I try it, I think ooh yes lovely, then it dries and it's a no! I don't know what it is?! 🤷♀️
Claire that sweater looks gorgeous with your eye color!,
Thank you 🥰
i was shocked by how much Mercedes benz club black smells like kay alis vanilla 28.. and i struggle with it as well
Yes! It's close isn't it?! Absolutely no need for both for me!
Thank you 😊
Well, I do not tend to declutter, because my taste really changes a lot and I want to try my perfumes years later again.
Mercedes Club Black has gotten a lot of love from people but if it doesn’t work for you then letting go is definitely the best thing to do
Yes, it's hopefully found a new and mm more loving home 😂
This inspires me to do some decluttering of my own.
Claire, do you have a Fragrantica or Sniff profile? I like looking at these…
I have a Fragrantica profile. I don't write much there though. Here it is: www.fragrantica.com/member/1236270
Thats a pity about the Chopard fragrance Claire. The notes sound lovely. Never heard of shiso but google tells me it's a Japanese herb that smells of mint, basil and cumin. Maybe its the cumin part that you don't like? As far as im concerned cumin belongs in curries only 😂
Thank you so much for the decants.
Hi Beautiful ❣️
I really enjoyed watching your declutter ❤️ I decluttered a lot in 2020 (I regret how brutal I was now) and I don't miss the 2 CK fragrances I ditched.
That’s a really good declutter ,I actually reached for THE ONE by D&G yesterday and I wasn’t loving it 🤷♀️I can’t believe that something I went through at least 3 bottles of ,I was not enjoying any more
TFS and have a great weekend ❤
Thanks Frances! I'm trying to e more ruthless 😂 I guess our tastes change. Maybe the fragrance changed a bit too, I think that's been discontinued a while? I'm not sure! I hope you also have a fab weekend! Thanks for watching 🥰
it happens
It does!
Hi Claire! I also decluttered that Mercedes Benz. It’s nice but too masculine for me… I sold my Bade’e al Oud Honor and Glory yesterday. I’m trying to get ride of what I don’t like right away now instead of trying to make it work…
That’s good to know I’ve still been eyeing the Mercedes one. I may end up declutterring honor and glory too.
What's honor and glory like? Which colour bottle is it? I think I only know them by the colours 😂
@dr.claire.perfume honor and glory is the white bottle with gold overlay. 👍
I thought that was the musk therapy clone? Is that what that's called?
I always enjoy your videos, Claire. The Barbie screaming Help! really cracked me up.
🤣 I love a gif 😉
I think my declutters are mainly failed blind buys, usually where there has been hype and I just don't see it 🤣
The only Calvin Klein's I've had positive experiences with have been Euphoria and ckin2u her but I don't think I want a bottle of either.
@@lukeparfumsHi Luke!😊
@@leahmiranda8359 Hi Leah! Nice to see you here. 🙂 I didn’t know you watch Claire.
Every time I see a declutter video I think I REALLY need to do that. 😄
I'm sure you'll get there one day Jim 🤣
Me too but it never happens 😂
🤣
Me too 😂
Perfumes I’m not keen on I gift or use as a room spray though if I had an expensive bottle I’d try to sell.
The bottle looks like car part to me .....so ugly
@@ejallen9457 well it's marketed to men so I guess that might be the reason why it looks as it does 😊
I’ve been decluttering a good bit.
I think those are both good, very distinctive, definitely not dull, just not for me unfortunately. I was really sad that I didn't love the Kenzo 🤷♀️
Great video! I need to declutter too. 🌸
I think I need to do more 🤣 thanks for watching 🥰
I am decluttering My Way Perfum by Armani. I liked it at the beginning but now I Smell it too cloying and powdery from the iris at the same time. Also, I can feel artificial berries. Thank you for your videos, as always, Claire. 🦋
That's a shame, I hope you find something that you enjoy more. Thanks for watching 🥰
I highly recommend the My Way Florale flanker. It's much better than the OG IMO.
Yes!! It was so hyped a few years back and now it's everywhere and going for so little. Makes me laugh every time I see a bottle on a resell site. 😂😂
@@dr.claire.perfumereally? I didn't know it was back in production! Is that why the price has gone down so much??
@@chandracox6814 yes, I'm pretty sure that's why!
Oh my God you had the Star Trek phaser bottle the whole time!!! (Mercedes Benz)
I did!!! So happy it's gone 🤣
Hey Claire! Girl the worse part about doing declutters is getting them sold! I’ve had it with eBay!😩😫
Yes and they take so much if you don't get a listing offer too! The fees are insane!
@@dr.claire.perfume oh my goodness yes the clothes are the hardest to declutter! I know it’s coming but I’ll leave that til last! 😅😆
I've got clothes from 20 years ago still, luckily I'm still the same size. Decluttering is really hard with clothes.
@@dr.claire.perfume It truly is! I remember when Frances did her clothes declutter video, it gave me a bit of motivation and I think I did do a little bit, but I need to get back at it! 😅
Aah yes that was a great set of videos!
Fragonard is very underrated !
Yes! I really loved Soleil, I was sad that was discontinued! So underrated!
Hi claire Time does not pass without you my love, you are wonderful in every time period, I love you.
Thanks for watching Bilal ☺️
I too blind bought Lemon Dulci because of the price and didn't like it at all, will declutter. 😁
Lemon Dulci wasn't for me sadly, but happily I passed mine onto a friend and she loved it and had finished the bottle, so my bottle got a happy ending. 😂
I want to declutter heavy powdery fragrances, they are causing me migraines. The Burberry one is a heavy powdery and animalic to my nose, the Chopard Lemon Dulci has a cucumber note😢,
I run away when I see this note in a fragrance construction, cucumber, suede, cactus flower, lotus, these notes usually throw me off😭
I agree!! I also dislike cucumber and lotus!!!
Nice video, thank you for sharing. Wishing you good health, peace and happiness. It's a pleasure to accompany you.

@@dr.claire.perfume its from Etat Libre D’ORange 😁
That was my next guess 😂
That kenzo flower elixir has been a super star for a hot minute!

Happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🥰
Oh, the declutter. You inspire me!!!
They are hard to get started with for me. Then when I've decided, I just want them gone! 😂
Hi Claire.
Navitus is a much talked about House. I recently tried three samples. I detested all three. Amberwood is in the base of all of them and it overpowers any possible redeeming qualities of the fragrance!!
Hamster food?😂😂
I only have a handful of fragrances that I just don’t like…..all middle eastern.
🤣 Err yes!

Burberry Weekend sounds nice - I can see why you’d feel a certain way about it
8:42 Ooh 😮 This one has been hyped a lot. Does it have that typical male designer feel? 😬 9:35 Oh no. Lol
11:36 Dihydromyrcenol, ambroxan, amberwoods 😂😂
14:25 The notes are looking fab.

@@dr.claire.perfume Love to hear it!! I haven’t been in the mood for decluttering this year. I’m happy with my collection at the moment 😅

Hi Claire! 😃
I have Club Black but didn't wear it yet this winter.
I'm quite happy it's gone, I had probably worn it about 7 times maximum, I have so many fragrances 🙈
With Burberry, I've tried Touch (just not me) and Body (made me think of sour apple juice) and I sampled Goddess in store (it was fine but it didn't stand out for me), I also tried the Her range (I don't actually remember which 🤣) and Black too (lots of peach 😬).
Sounds familiar 🤣 And yes, I'm sure they must smell good in some people! They are extremely popular!
@@dr.claire.perfume understandable ty anyway ☺️💕and I’m glad you got your money back too! 🥰
Yes me too! 🥰
Good morning Clare ☕️
Morning Frances! Hope there is less snow with you now. 😊
Hi Claire, continuing to catch up on videos.
I hope you enjoy them! ☺️
I really enjoyed this video! I'm still looking for a fragrance with a proper peony smell 😁
May I ask where you sell your fragrances please? I've only really sold on Ebay, but they charge so much in sellers fees now!
Currently have a cold, not sure what I want to wear.
Aww! Get well soon! Do you have anything minty and fresh? Or sweet and floral? 🥰
Aah ok, yes, I'm not a patchouli hater, but if you are, stay well away!
I just filmed a declutter. No point in keeping what we don’t love!
No, quite! It's too expensive to have pretty bottles sitting untouched. 😂
Ooo I love shiso! I doubt it's the culprit though as it's such a fleeting note in my favourite fragrances containing shiso
@@genkestrel7254 thanks! I had no idea! I'm really not sure if that's it or not! 😂 Anyway, I'm happy that lemon dulci has found a new home.
Am new to your UA-cam family sister #curvy kie sent me over here ❤❤🎉🎉
Aah! Hello! Kie is very lovely 🙂
I adore golden oud it’s amazing
It's an interesting one for sure! I've not smelt anything else like it. 🥰
Good day Claire. This should be nice. Thank you 😄
I hope you enjoyed it! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I sure did! Thank you!
👍
Oh no! Not hamster food 😂😂
Definitely not for me 🤣
14:55: Lol, "hamster food"?? 🤣😂
Yeah 😂 it's weirdly sweet, a bit metallic but also woody. It makes me think of the water bottle nozzles and the food. 🤷♀️ I tried 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume Reminds me of the "barnyard" smell that is prominent in some older classics. For example, I own and enjoy YSL Kouros and Aramis 900, but I'm too self-conscious to wear them outside the house. Sad, but true. 🤣
🤣
Ooh Claire I love that Mercedes one. ❤You sent a sample of it. Where are u selling them ? Xxx
Sorry Mel! I didn't know you wanted it, it's been sold already. That fragrance is back in production though! I didn't realise, I thought it was discontinued, but it should be available again. When I bought it, it was virtually impossible to find!
@@dr.claire.perfume it's OK. How's it going with samples?
I rearranged everything today as it was total chaos 😂 right now I have it all in alphabetical order by brand. I am feeling more organised now and have a big pile (maybe 40 or more) to try beside me, including yours. I tried Gucci II a few weeks back, I liked it. I've not been doing much sampling lately as I've been ill with a sinus infection (that lasted 4 weeks 😥) and applying for a new job, application took ages, but it's in now and I'm waiting for an interview 🤞 so back to sampling tomorrow now everything is organised 😊
@dr.claire.perfume good luck for interview 🤞. I'm planning on the new initio fragrance release. Sounds divine 🍒🥃
@@melbert3795 thanks! I think Initio is the same company as PDM isn't it? I actually don't know anything about Initio 🙊 I have only tried clones and had one quick spray of ?Amethyst? in Fenwicks Newcastle.
Those darned roller balls!
Yes! I really don't like them 🙊
Hi Beautiful! Declutter makes one free😊
Haha, well as long as I get some room back, I'll be happy 😊
That is a sizeable declutter!
Well 7 of these were those perfume oil clones, so I guess they add up!
Great share, Love this
Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume My pleasure! Friend, I'm happy to support those who are putting good vibrations out in the world.
That took longer than I care to admit 🤣
Ooh I've not tried Cow, I've tried Nightingale and Harvest Mouse. I agree, apple is a struggle for me too, it's very very rare that I enjoy a fragrance with apple, it's usually a straight no. Good luck deciding! Thanks for watching 🥰
Looking really nice
Thanks for watching 🥰
Dr. Claire, i wanna see a content video of u visiting boutique and test the fragrance one by one
Haha 😂 If I wasn't so self conscious with cameras this might be a thing! I think I would need to go with someone else 🙈
Hi Dr. Smith🌹🙋
Ty for the heads up on the CHOPARD LEMON DULCI.
*******
I disliked, loved, liked, then disliked AGAIN 😳 AMETHYST.
Decluttering is as fun as buying 😂
Haha 😂 it depends how easily you can resell them or give them away! I still have a few left from this declutter... I will hopefully off load the remainder soon though! ☺️
Amberwood is a menace in fragrances 🥴 I avoid it where possible 🤢 xx
Yes, I'm slowly learning what it is that I just don't enjoy, it's taken me a while though 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume Must be that shiso note.
I've no idea, but that's my suspicion 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume It’s supposed to a member of the mint family, with a peppery mintiness to it.
@@tdsollog I think I'd need to smell it in another fragrance to be sure, but it could be.
You look like Disney's Snow White :-)
Thank you! I do have anaemia, so that might be why 😂
💛
Thanks for watching 🥰 have a fab weekend ❤️
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for watching Yulia! 🥰
I thought you had ripped a part off a merc.....thats very ugly ugly bottle 😅😂😂😂😂😂
It's definitely not the prettiest... 😂 Happy it's gone!
