Love that someone asked for this, so props to whoever that was. Leonard Cohen's genius doesn't get the attention it deserves, especially among pop culture audiences.
I truly love Leonard Cohen. He was an incredible poet and a wonderful gentleman. I really miss him. I never see his music here, thank you for reacting to this song. He always had the best musicians and back up singers working with him.
This is from one of Cohen's first 3 albums. Those albums are jewels folks. Songs of Leonard Cohen (1967) Songs from a Room (1969) Songs of Love and Hate (1971) For those mainly familiar with (and like) Cohen's later work, check out those 3 albums.
Other great songs of his; "Suzanne", "So Long Marianne", "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye". The man was a Buddhist monk for 5 years. A great poet and songwriter. Nice reaction.
Amazing song. Thank you. I highly recommend "You want it darker" by Leonard Cohen. It's an outer body experience to listen to with headphones. Trust me - you won't regret it !
I adore this song. Great for moments of quiet introspection. A cold rainy drive to work in the morning. Leonard Cohen was another amazing poet and a super interesting guy too.
dress rehearsal rag, off the same album, is his darkest song one of my favorites. he eventually stopped performing it because he felt guilty about spreading that much despair
This whole album is incredible. Definitely one of my favorites along with New Skin For The Old Ceremony. It kind of annoys me that everybody knows Hallelujah, but the man made several albums full of better songs.
Gorgeous, rich, inimitable- yeah, I didn’t have headphones on this time, but I think there’s a second guitar (Leonard’s is upfront and tuned down a whole step) the other has a bit more reverb + delay so it’ sounds like it’s farther away
Yo TEEZ. Another good reaction to another amazing Canadian artist. Lets keep the Candian music rolling. Try a band called Monster Truck. I went to the same highschool as these boys in Hamilton, Ontario. Reallly great music. Try the song Denim Danger. Guaranteed you will love it
Not your favourite, but it's one of his best songs from his best album. Unless you only like the hits like Hallelujah, First We Take Manhattan, I'm Your Man, etc.
@@duhusker4383 My goodness, you seem to be making a lot of assumptions. You're acting as though I stated it's a bad song and anyone who likes it is foolish. I like the song. I pretty much like all of his work. If it's your favorite, I have no problem with that. He's a great artist. Music is very personal and different people react to the same piece in different ways. If I were forced to pick one song as my favorite, I suppose it would be "Everybody Knows", but there are many that I love and all of it is worthwhile.

Leonard Cohen was a gift.
Cohen is something else, an awesome poet!
Damn. Chills the whole time. And I've heard this song so many times.

It’s so wonderful to see people still reacting to and enjoying his art :) thank you for this
Ahh, One Of My Favorite LC Songs! Miss Him So Much! Thank You For Doing This!
the whole album is great -
Leonard Cohen is awesome. I still have my vinyl copy of this album, and a couple of his poetry books that I got in the sixties.
'Sisters of Mercy', 'Suzanne', 'So Long Marianne', 'First we take Manhattan'. 'The Partisan'.

Love him...please react to Dance me to the end of love and Waiting for the miracle...Thank you for reacting to this wonderful poet and singer..

My favorite artist Tori Amos does an amazing cover of this!
The Ballad of the Absent Mare is also excellent. Check out Nevermind or You Got Me Singing as well.

This album has some really intense songs too. Avalanche is great, and Diamonds in the Mine is one of his darker songs.
mandolin

You should check out BIRD ON A WIRE and SUZANNE
Avalanche by Cohen is on this album. A very deep song you should listen to it my friend.
React to more Cohen please! ;)
Amare questo 🎶
Translation appears to be 'love this'. And I agree. I too love this song
That instrument might have been an oud, similar to a lute, that is used in his music.
Leonard said he was all three people in this love triangle.
Nice
Dude, you gotta try out The Future sometime. See how he evolved. Good listen and reaction!
It's beautiful, but I don't ever want to write a letter like that.
The other string instrument you were wondering about is a mandolin.
Listen to jennifer warnes cover, legendary
From the same album, check out ' Dress Rehearsal Rag'.
I think you would like his song Democracy
Definitely!!!
I thought I would find someone in the comments that would explain the letter.

If you like this, check out Last Year's Man from the same album
he has 100 more good ones
Not my favorite Leonard Cohen, but any Cohen is worthwhile.

@@carlrosenzweig1867 I agree with you. This is a great song but in my opinion this album alone has 4 songs that are better
Respct to dead poet.
