Gun.Smoke (NES) playthrough

- Опубліковано 24 лип 2024
- Playthrough of the NES version of Gun.Smoke with few facepalm inducing deaths. Yes, I'm using auto-trigger as I don't want to wear down the gamepad unnecessarily, plus my button mashing isn't what it used to be.
00:00 Intro
00:54 Town of Hicksville - Bandit Bill
04:44 The Boulders - Cutter
08:23 Comanchi Village - Devil Hawk
14:30 Death Mountain - Ninja
18:54 Cheyenne River - Fatman Joe
22:53 Fort Wingate - Wingate
30:33 Outro & Credits - Ігри
One of the best NES soundtracks!
Capcom never disappoints.
@Tucker Latham Oops! Hate to leave a misspelling dangling for a year.
But you can't discount Capcom either!
Better than the arcade ost, honestly. Watched an arcade play through yesterday, but it just wasn't the same
I came here to listen to the music lol
💯 agreed. Also funny how we used to think it would get better in the future, with better tech - turned out we were living right in the golden age. You can never fully understand what you have until it's gone. Cheers to everyone who was part of it 🥂
That stage one music...one of the songs of the soundtracks of my life. Nostalgia overload.
Indeed!!!
That's my favorite music too! Stage 1
I’m 38 years old and this music still plays in my head out of nowhere from time to time just remembering watching my brother play this. He bought this game in 1988, beat it in one day then Returned to Mann’s or Zaire’s. One those old stores.
And in 2018...
This game became..
Red Dead Redemption 2
No, more like The town with no name.
Thank you been trying to find it on my new NES I got
Lol true
I didn't see ninja in RDR2.....another DLC?
I was think it evolved into sunset riders.. Then the final form is red dead lol
the original red dead
Rockstar mentioned this game was an inspiration for Red Dead Revolver
it wasn't the inspiration, red dead revolver is supposed to be the sequel to gun.smoke
@@ari-mariberry Spiritual Successor.
😤👌
Way better than RD
I played this game in 92 or 93 and the music of first level is still in my mind!
Very old game. Brings a lot of memories.
I remember feeling so accomplished after I beat this. I'd play this game for hours. Back this it was so hard but now it's a ton of fun memories.
oh boy, can't even remember how many nights of sleep this game took from me! Great game, great fun!!! People who say Dark Souls is difficult never played 80's games!
Agree
Badass game!!
Dificult is because we are kids backthen
This game isn't really that difficult. Took me about 2,5 hours to beat.
These days if someone's stuck on a level they would just look it up on YT. Back then it was days upon days of frustration followed by a sense of accomplishment when we cleared that level.
That intro and soundtrack.... LEGENDARY
Clint Eastwood is still and always be my favourite cowboy hero. I always thought about him when I played this game. Such a perfect and balanced game! Man... I miss those times.... :)
@Skye Reynolds That's sad. They should have stayed retro and had the image of James Arness as Matt Dillon. I used to watch the show with grandpa and play the game in the late '80s. I still play it! Oh well, you can't take the memories from the game. 😊
@Skye Reynolds You're right! I never even thought of the little bullet being between Gun and Smoke. Both the show and game bring back great memories. 😊 Take care and thanks for pointing that out btw!
"He cruzado océanos de tiempo para encontrarte" ... me encanta ese juego
ya somos 2 Amo este game tmb, muchos bellos recuerdos de los mejores de ese stylo, la parte del comanche q dificil era
I used to stay up until 4am playing this game.
It was awsome
This game only took 30min to finish? It seem like 30days back in the 80s...
It's because it was much easier to die. There wasn't a save file so you had to restart from the beginning when all limited lives ended.
holamoco17 thanks for stating the obvious...
30 days were a mild nuisance back then, compared to Ghost'n goblins that felt like 3 years to finish
Luke Perry lmao asshole
Time changes perception!
All I can say is the shotgun is your best friend for the Death Mountain stage. Kudos for getting pass the stage without it. 👍👍
14:31 Cracked myself up. I came across this video and I thought "Wow! I remember this from when I was really really little, but I think when I was little I thought the bad guys were ninjas. Ha! That's silly. A cowboy fighting ninjas." And then I got to this part and I'm dying laughing. You DO fight ninjas!
The Red Dead series wouldn't have been existed if it wasn't for this game.
Jhed _Maniac! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Wouldn't have been *created* you mean.
Seth Bishop the one you’ve crossed? yes.
@@jhed_maniac8489 that's UA-cam, I simply put - on either side not realizing they programmed that because how would I?
@@jhed_maniac8489 but "wouldn't have been existed" is just an egregious misuse of English. I can't fathom how you're okay with it haha not to insult you, you could be way smarter than I am and know several languages.
This game is so old, but really fun and I still play it to this day!
what a music!!!
As a kid I used to play this game for the music!
The second stage music sounds like If you had a bad day and this played then you would smile and just start skipping 😁
this game fucked me up as a kid, it broke my heart when the little horsey died
Thanks for uploading this video. This game is a special hit not only of the game design but especially for the music played in every stages and boss fight. This was my all time favourite game during my childhood.. ❤️ Great...
My favorite nes games, this game and contra is better than super mario in my opinion
There are honestly a boatload of games that are better than mario on the nes.
Lam Pham so true. It’s funny how in 2019 we have all these huge ass open world games with amazing graphics and still NES has some of the best games to date.
Lam Pham lâm phạm
Lam Pham also the legend of kage
Zelda
*N O S T A L G I A*
Capcom legend here. Still have it, still play it on my NES. What i like about this playthrough is the OP actually dies. No cheats, nothing fake, standard button mash and run. This shows the unforgiving difficulty level of Capcom games.
Yes, Capcom games are hard. Ghosts n goblins is insanely difficult.
Probably one of the few games where each boss has his own theme
The background in the intro was nostalgia
I was addicted to this game back in the 80s. Thanks for posting.
Gun.smoke. I used to play this at the Mining Camp, which has been burned
down and never to be rebuilt. This was a great restaurant and I wish
that the city had allowed them to rebuild it.
bro I loved this game as a child. Got chills watching.
I played this game when I was 8 years old. I remember that I didn't know what I was reading, but this was really fun
This is the progenitor game of Red Dead. It's just unbelievable
Ahh I miss those old days just sitting around and play without any worries. Now the time is changing and become worst and worst everyday 😪
What are you worried about?
Back on old day I will play this game at my friend's home. If Im not mistaken I suddenly hump this game's music for a couples of years ago and until that I have searched the source of music. But today I have figured the source of music come from this game. Thank you :')
I played this game when I was 6-7 my dad was also loved this and played with me with our atari. This game made me a fan of western genre now. This game always returns me to my childhood. Such a good game and soundtracks. Also greetings from Turkey.
This game had such great music
Shopkeepers: Crap, these Wingates are stealing our money! Let’s hide our money in barrels so they can’t find it.
Lone Gunman shots barrels and takes the money.
Then Geralt from the Witcher 3 loots items from the shop 😁
Woof. Nostalgia. That opening music took me back to sitting in front of an ancient little box and playing the NES with my dad. Well, kinda. I associate this and tiger heli (that's an antique!) With my old man.
That third stage soundtrack is the best and the most nostalgic for me.
What about Konami's SunsetRiders though? 😁
@@edwardgaines6561 Well that was terrific game but the soundtrack do not quite stick on my brain.
I used to play this game as a kid all the time and could never get past the 3rd level. I don’t even remember having fun playing it; what I REMEMBER is dying multiple times on level 1 just before reaching Bandit Bill
this game is the shit, many hours spent playing this. great upload
+THE ONLY YDARG you are shit this game is so beautiful and the music ahhhhhh memories.
+ADI Domi ah when you died was rage worthy
THE ONLY YDARG I beat this game in 30 min on Vizzed ( I used save-state).......the music is fantastic. All Nes games are 741 but until now I finished 316. My plan is to finish all nes games. Nes games are difficult but if you use save-state is easy. Go to vizzed and try.
Idiot
Oh man, watching this is like a hit of pure nostagia. Overwhelming
As a small child I remember watching my older brother play this game. So happy I found out what game it was. I'd love to play it now.
Nostalgia hits hard😭
One of my favorite shooters of all time.
"I'm off to stop the worst desperadoes in the country."
"How much ammo do you need?"
"ALL of it."
Classic Game that brings back old memories in Dallas texas were i was born and rase!👍💯
I'm learning so many valuable lessons about life from watching this.
Thank you for this 😁 brings back good memories
Another nes game like this? The intro, the music, all. Is great!
The second boss head is priceless 😂😂😂 what a look! A real badass!
Bro looks like DBZ villain fr
I watch a lot of these and I love them because they always look so good on the screen. I have my original NES and still play it and have Gunsmoke. Despite being played on my 50inch HD Tv I bought last year it never looks as good as it does on UA-cam when I watch a playthrough.
The bass sound for when the horse approaches is badass to this day.
My Brother In-laws Mothers Second Husband was in his 50s and played the hell out of the NES. He loved 3 games in particular which were The Adventures Of Link, Gunsmoke and Tertris. I used to play him on Tetris and had a blast and though I never got into the Link game I was however into Gunsmoke. He could beat the game losing only 1 life. He had mastered it and used to teach me how to play and where all the Warrants were. On my 12th birthday my Sister stopped by there house on the way to take me to a Panchos mexican restaurant where my Family was waiting and Lee was home and said "I did not know it was your Birthday here hang on a second. He then brought me Gunsmoke and told me to take it. I said no because he loved the game and he said "Yea but you love it too and you can always bring it over and play me at it if you want. I used to take it over there and play him whenever I got the chance. He has passed on a great many years now but I still have that game and play it every now and then. I am 42 and still have not mastered it where I can beat it with only losing 1 life. I did come close beating it losing only 2. It always amazed me when I saw an adult playing the Nintendo when I was young. Back then it was just for kids mainly unlike Today. I am inlove with Zelda games except for a few like Adventures Of Link but I never thought I would come to love Gunsmoke of all games. Just fun and straight forward and not rigged to beat you like a lot of games were for Nintendo.
Loved Gunsmoke on the Nes it felt like a proper arcade game, remember coming back from Manchester with it on the train while listening to Dio on my walkman.
Another gem thanks again I'm going to have to find all these games and buy them
Good game, great songs
Victor Zapata Yeah but "braveness" at 30:48? Not the best English.
@@edwardgaines6561 That happened a lot on the NES, due to most game developers at the time being japanese.
Amaba la primera canción yo era muy pequeño cuando lo jugaba que recuerdos este y los soundtrack de supercampeones los mejores.
i love this game so much played it a lot when i was a kid :D
Now the name “One Brave Gunman” will go down in history. 😁
La infancia de muchos nosotros 🤠👌🏻🌵
This is one hard game. Great play on it!
Red Dead Redemption's ancestor.
Juegazo, mi primer juego de vaqueros, aqui me hice fan del género western
@Seiya de Pegaso... después llegaron BLOOD BROTHERS, SUNSET RIDERS, RDR
I remember borrowing this from a friend and it was such a badass game. My dad beat it before I did.
Used to be my favorite back then
This is kind of a predecessor to red dead redemption
It's from Capcom, so probably
@@handsomejas105 Capcom started development of a sequel to Gun smoke that fell through. It was then somehow picked up by Rockstar that eventually became red dead revolver, and so on
@@Dannzt as far as I remember, angel studios was tasked with development of red dead revolver initially, under capcom, however, angel studios was approached by rockstar due to angel studios' impressive work on the game "Midtown Madness" (which I spent a good chunk of my childhood playing). In around 2002, angel studios was acquired by take-two (rockstar's parent company) and hence, was renamed to rockstar San Diego, inc.
@@V-for-Vendetta01 👍
@@V-for-Vendetta01 Makes me wonder how things would have transpired had Angel Studios still worked on Red Dead Revolver with Capcom. I wonder what direction the series would have taken?
Capcom nailed with an underrated classic!
Loved this game, great memories
A part of my childhood
One of my favorite NES games!
Never made it too Ninja Darts myself. It was my older brothers game, he played it more than I did.
loved this game and it's music.
One of my top 5 NES games, good PT
One of my first nes games
Gun Smoke walked so Sunset Riders could run. On an interesting note, a 30,000 dollar bounty in 1865 is like almost 600k today lol. These dudes were like Osama bin laden wanted.
I loved this game as a kid. Defeated it too many times. Here's a tip: horse and smart bomb are your insurance policies.
Joguei muito na fita de 64 jogos do meu Dynacom!
Eu jogava muito no Polistation heheh muito bom esse game. Não lembrava o nome, agora q já sei vou correr atrás da fita.
2 cara
wow, massive memories
Ninjas be like : "ama gonna ignore you and cross the screen".
I remember this game. I used to love this game. damn I'm getting old😥🤦♂️
remembering my childhood
One of my favorite Nintendo games growing up. Wish I could play it again..
You can...?
I can’t believe I never heard of this game. Wow. I missed out.
Me and my dad used to play this for HOURS when I was a kid.

You can do it!
Pretty much sums up every episode of gunsmoke.

Crazy that if it wasn’t for this game we wouldn’t have any of the the Red Dead games
Best SoundTrack.
