Deadpool & Wolverine releases in July. Of course, Paramount would want to release a trailer for Sonic 3 in time for it to be shown in front of the biggest movie of the summer in theaters. I'm surprised that no one else has pointed this out.
I've thought about it as well. It makes sense that you have a sonic 3 teaser in front of Deadpool 3. It will get a lot of attention that way. Also, comic-con is on the same week as deadpool 3 releases, so we could see it there too.

I read a comment saying that usually movie trailers comes out 3~4 months before the actual release date of the film and I think this where we're going right now.
I agree with this. I’ve actually noticed this pattern with the previous movie trailers that this franchise released as well.
I’d expect the trailer to drop on a Tuesday or Thursday, but if I had to make a guess from the previous time gap between sonic movie 2’s trailer and movie release date, it could come August 1st.
Well, we had a Sonic 2 trailer when the film only had 5 months left, so maybe this will work for Sonic 3 in August (we currently only have 7 months left for the release)

I have a theory about when the trailer is going to be released; it might not make sense, but just hear me out.
Let's take a look at the Sonic 2 trailer release dates. The first trailer was released in December 2021, the second in March 2022, and the movie in April 2022. That's a 5-month period of trailers up until the movie's release. A similar thing happened with the FNaF movie last year: the first trailer was in June, the second in August, and the movie in October. I know these two movies don't have anything in common besides being live-action adaptations of video games, but I think there's a pattern in when movie trailers get released, and I've seen a lot of other movie trailers follow this pattern, which is around 4 months before the movie comes out. So, with this theory in mind, it means we'll be getting our first (and probably the second) Sonic 3 trailer around August to November. And if I'm being honest, I REALLY don't want this theory to be accurate because, MY GOD, that is such a long time 😭.
(Also, sorry if this is not a theory and it's just the obvious pattern of movie trailer release dates.)

Yeah I honestly believe it’s July. For the Sonic Movie 2, they released the first trailer in December, when the movie was releasing in April. So they have to have it in July for there to be a 5 month gap between the first trailer and the movie. They could release multiple trailers throughout the months so we’ll see.

Hopefully the trailer releases on June 23rd this month for a first glimpse since it was the the release date for SA2 in Japan & Sonic 3 movie is mostly based from SA2 and some from Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 but mainly SA2 so it would just make sense if they surprised us with that, plus it’s Sonic’s Birthday on June 23rd also.

Before that one source mentioned that the sonic 3 trailer might release either on despicable me or at the San Diego comicon. Both are in July
I think that it is possible that July could be the month that we would get that Sonic 3 movie trailer in, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt because from all the false hopes we've been getting, I won't believe what the exact release day for that trailer will be until we actually get it. Also I still understand that since there is soo much hype and high expectations for that movie and the trailer, they very likey won't release it until they've perfected it enough to show enough quality to impress us fans which we wouldn't get if they don't take time and try hard. So that's my main suspicion of why we've been left waiting so long for that first trailer. They obviously don't want us to get a rushed trailer which would be shown in lower quality because of that.
We'll probably get it at the most random time. Probably some Wednesday in July or August

It's about a 3 to 4 month span between, so if we're getting the movie release by the end of the year, we should get the trailer around August or September

Here's the thing san diego comic con is next month, so even in terms of realistic expectations that would be a good spot to show a trailer so his leak has at least an 80% chance of being real. This would also be at the end of the month where they would logically need to start promoting the movie. As right after that August starts and that point we're now 4 months away from the release date. So I do think this is the most credible and most realistic leak we've gotten in terms of the trailer.

They will release the Sonic 3 trailer alongside Transformers One, it will be the latest for the first trailer.
July would make sense. People keep speculating June 23rd but that date really isn't that important. Yeah yeah, the anniversary date, but I don't think Paramount are really bothered about it. There's never been an obligation to announce Sonic news on that date either.
June 23 is Sonic's b-day, so of course that date is important.
