Think of the hard nuts Ali fought with - Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Chuvalo, Williams, Quarry, Patterson, Lyle, Norton, Shavers - a remarkable set of scalps. He is one battle tested champion. May not look like the toughest guy out there but he certainly was. Absolute gangsta.
Those guys in the 70s heavyweight division took the boxing to a level we are still waiting to reach again. Insane bouts
Remember y'all, Lyle could hit just as hard as Foreman!!!! Mannnnnn, Ali was fighting some monsters in the 70's!!!!
speed, endurance, courage, confidence, ingenuity, uniqueness....Muhammad Ali then everyone else. 3 and a half years out in his prime and look what he did.
This is one of Ali's best fights demonstrating his not only technical skills but also his character. He is inviting the ref to stop the fight so the opponent is not damaged furthermore. After seeing the ref does not have that caliber, he is still going moderate at a perfect level to cause a technical knockout WITHOUT damaging the guy. Neither the ref nor the opponent understands this elegance! May God's peace and blessing be upon Ali forever!
How gentle Ali was ... especcially at the end. He was not a 'killer', but won much fights without being rude.
Ali was class! Waved the ref in to save him punishment! What a man! He did this in so many of his fights! Could have taken free punches but chose not too! Just class! RIP goat
The way Ali defeated giants like Lyle, Shavers and Foreman is incredible.
Ali signals the ref to stop it. Sportsmanship.
Lyle was defenseless at the end but unlike other boxers who would have used the opportunity to swing at Lyle’s head with their full force, Ali struck just hard enough to keep Lyle under control and called for the ref to end it. People of admirable character are rare.
Ali fought all the killers of his time and tamed everyone of them. Genius! Truly the G.O.A.T!!!
This game show how Ali really really deserve to be the greatest boxer of all time ✊️
Ali is simply B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! He makes an art out of boxing. He toys around in all his matches. He is the GREATEST!!!!
Even nowadays no one can replicate Ali's style of fighting ! That's why he's really the greatest !
The crazy thing is Most of Ali's Greatest fights was fought when he was past his primes in his 30's.
Note the ending. How many other boxers would've gone to town and just kept punching until the opponent went down. Not Ali. He had the heart of a lion but still great compassion for his fellow man. Rare indeed, one of a kind. RIP The Greatest.
Ali's greatest rivals loved him for his kindness
Ali still dancing and showing his great footwork at that age shows why he's truly amazing and of course the Greatest.
I remember watching the preview of this fight hearing how Lyle killed someone in the ring, and I was afraid for Ali. But when Ali came in - NO FEAR, and beaming with confidence.
Now you're dancing in heaven Ali..
