HOA's should be outlawed.
Don’t let this stop you from your dreams! Can’t wait to see the finished product down the line! Remember if it ain’t a blessing, it’s a lesson!
You are a hard worker Chad, you seem to not let anything get to you. You are a great inspiration to your son's. You can do it stay blessed. Aloha from Kansas
We gotchu LH...you helped me trick out my 2020 Trail Boss...so I'll forever be supporting this channel!
Imagine if you did this back home in Hawaii. The cost would probably be tripled. Another awesome video.
Plant some trees in that massive yard!😊
Dude I wish I had your energy, Im 65 yo and have bad knees along with a bunch of other stuff. Having said that kudos for all the projects you take on and for the DRH video. I bought a new DRH house and after watching your video I started going to the house every other day checking it out and pointing out the iffy stuff their subs were doing and I'm glad to tell you I made their lives a living hell. But in the end it was worth it. I still found shabby workmanship, but guess what? All the construction companies around here (San Antonio) use the same crews, so to everyone that reads the comments and are planning on buying a new house, keep your eyes on them and the house and point it out to them.
Have been watching your videos for several years and I have to say I’m really enjoying these building videos. Keep pushing it will all be worth it in the end!
Glad to see you are still making progress on the build.
Don't let these tough times stop you from achieving your end goal.
You should do a running total of your savings by doing this build yourself vs a contractor (For each section of the build).
Aloha.
You're a straight grinder, brother. So driven and focused. Keep up the hard work...this channel is gonna be HUGE.
Dude is a legit handyman love him
You're doing a great job! Losing your roof & play set sucks, but look at the riot you found that you were able get taken care of before it got worse!
Can’t wait till I see the finished product. Great job on thinking outside the box to keep cost down. I’m learning a lot.
Dude, mad respect for digging through that crap. I grew up in that area and the soil is so clay-filled that digging becomes a feat in and of itself.
Grand scheme of things you all are safe and healthy
Stay positive. Nothing happens overnight ❤
Getting to tell your son you’re going to build him the dirt bike track you always dreamed of is so sick. 🤙🏻
Towing!!!! I am a child and still think that is so cool. I love it!
Your a Beast my Brother, much Love and Respect, Keep grinding , praying for your people of Maui May GOD reveal the TRUTH and allow all to be able to rebuild. MAUI STRONG, GID BLESS 🙏✝️🇺🇸🏝️
2 Things:
I tow with my 2020 Trail Boss with the same engine all of the time. For a half ton the towing is great. We did a 5,500 mile road trip around the west with a 30’ RV trailer and the Chevy didn’t skip a beat. I love keeping my truck nice but I do put it through it paces, as much as a weekend warrior can, and it never lets me down.
If I had your land I think I’d be watching the secondary market for a deal on an older mini excavator. You’d get tons of use out of it with the projects you have and it makes a lot of those projects so much faster. Hopefully the channel keeps growing so a purchase like that could become an after thought instead of a big expense.
Grateful you and yours are safe and well.
I'm just an old landscape lady that use to live in Hawaii. Your video of the whole debacle with the front of your home is where I came in. I loved your attitude so hit that button. I've very much enjoyed watching this journey of this project! I also love the family environment. Keep fighting the fight young man!!
I can’t wait for the build to finish to see your vision come to fruition. But also waiting for an update on your dads truck too.
Man ur videos are inspiring me on my projects btw you are a very smart diy guy👍🏿, keep’em coming very encouraging and enjoyable!
We just had another big storm on Saturday hope all is well
You got this man
Chee huu! Loving the content lately, definitely stepping up the quality of videos. Much Aloha to you and the Ohana!
I'm in an unrestricted location, DIY cost for my 30x50 RV cover is gonna come out to around 6k. salvaged some I beams from a mobile home demo for the trusses, gonna be welding everything. no permits or HOA to worry about in the sticks lol
For the support & algorithm 🤙🏼
Your a real worker love your boys going to just like you
You pulled through it man and you’re still on track, congratulations. And man the trucks are looking so good but that Camaro is my dream.
Hang in there. We’re getting closer.
Absolutely Amazing!
Well done!
So proud of you! Man I have been watching since those Hawaii days. It is so cool to see where you are now.
I'm tired just watching you work. Great job so far. The shop WILL BE amazing!
Bruddah, great video. Awesome to see all the trade work you DIY!
All the hard work (and money) will be worth it once you pull your truck into your shop for the first time!
Its looking great buddy! Lots of hard work. I have heard painting your garage doors adds a bit of weight and torsion springs may need adjustment. Might be something to look into. Looking forward to the next phase.
Life will always throw curve balls it's how you deal with it & move on that counts. Well done
Wow! Good progress! Its coming along nice!
Doing a great job. I'm happy I found your channel.
Awesome Update!! Thanks for sharing
Your work ethic is solid! Keep on the great content
Loving the garage build series. Lots of hurdles but you are handling them one at a time.
Severely underrated channel! Love the progress!
I need to get me some of that AG1 your taking bro! Your energy & work ethic is amazing! Aloha & God bless to you and the ohana 🤙🤙
I'm ready to load up the trail boss with tools and go help build this massive shop, I'm just ready to see it completed, excited for you guys
You got it thank you for all channel. Sorry fast and simple 💪🏼✌🏼looks good 👍🏼
It's looking fantastic bud, yes it is amazing how fast all these little things add up so quickly! I finally got my piers installed and we also got the power and water dug and ran to the corner of the building. Now, I'm just waiting on the lumber package and trusses to be delivered around October 1. I have a small Kubota tractor with several attachments so I'm able to move dirt and drill holes (saving a little money). I'm really looking forward to your build and also to get going on my build! Take care and don't work to hard in that heat!
Keep up the great work.. watching from FL 🌴
Your roof can fixed without an entire roof, fence is easy and other stuff is simple. You're goodo to go brother.
Outstanding. Great job Mad skills and determination to achieve shown by you. Kudos.
Been subscribed to your channel and watching your shop build videos for a couple months now. Excellent video series. Keep it up, chase your dreams!
I just subscribed and watched your video for the firsttime. I'm amazed of the work you do. Keep on doing what you do and Love. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward on your next utube episode. Aloha and Ahui Hou Malama Pono from Hawaii. Cheeehuuu
Mannn love all ur videos, just imagine just how awesome it will all be at the end of it all ... keep pushing
Brother keep the build going, much love and support to you and yours !
Dream shop looking good 👍
Love it, from start to finish thus far!! Keep up the good work, love the videos and the inspiration you bring to so many who want to do this same thing!
Only thing I want to interject here, is WATER and a drain inside the shop, if you weren't planning on adding this, I would urge you to do so. If your septic is close enough to run a drain from the shop to it, then I would encourage you to do so, this coming from someone who regretted NOT having working water and drain in my shop a few years ago! A small tankless heater for hot water is easy to install as well. Easier to do it now before the yard grows back in and sheet metal goes on sides.
I know that foundation and flat work took a hunk out of your budget but that job was done right!
I’ve seen what foundations do in your area. I know those HOA and building inspections are a pain but I’ve seen the pains caused by ignoring them or by builders who built prior to any regulations being implemented. Needless to say it’s a pay once cry once situation.
My brother in law and sister live very close to your area. Older structures are a nightmare waiting on a flipper to victimize around you.
I’m super happy that you’re showing the world an honest assessment of the truth behind this situation.
I was shocked at the amount of engineered footing under that structure but it’s all well worth it.
You can park any machinery you need to in that building now. A smaller 15” swing lathe will live well on that concrete as well as many other potential ideas you or someone else in the future may have. Plus you have excellent record of exactly what was done.
I know it’s sticker shock but it is money well spent and I doubt many of the other structures in that area have the proper engineering done at the foundation.
Man my friend lives just a little bit away from ya and she's still dealing with insurance! And being a Horton home you're lucky it didn't just fall over. But you already know all about that lol! Bring the Fam to the reptile show in Arlington in 2 weeks. The kids would love it. 😂 BEST CAMERA MAN IN THE WORLD WAS BACK! 😂
I install fences by trade and i hate to tell you but about half a dozen swings of a baby sledge hammer and a piece of wood, will get the whole ball of concrete off those posts in 2 or 3 pieces. blunt force and the vibrations.
This might help. Before you dig lay down a tarp and put all the dirt on that. When you are ready to fill the whole it’s a lot easier and you get every piece of that dirt back in the whole
👆🏽love these recommendations!
The dirt was too soon u should have left it level for use with scissor lift when building the side walls, gutters even roofing over hang.
That shop and property is going to be amazing when you're done for sure. The mini bike track sounds bomber (for you and the kiddos!) I live in North TX as well. That was a wild storm. I hate heights.... I'd have had to pay someone to do the chimney. We have an older home with not as steep of a pitch on the roof. Moved out of a home built by your fun builder that was built in 08 in a HOA neighborhood. Frankly the HOA was not doing much for us and still controlled by the developer. I'm sure given the pitch of that roof I'd in for some cash to get it fixed. Zero damage here thankfully. I guess its a glorious couple of months to be a roofer in TX. We do have four 60 year old pecan trees on our property (a little over 1/3 acre. It was raining pecans on the roof that sounds like hail! I spent most of Saturday cleaning up the branches and things that broke with the tree. Got all the junk off the roof and inspected it (even though I hate getting up there much nicer than being up on yours). Was up there with a blower and rack to get it off.
Gotta keep the playground equipment attached to the ground with like 1 foot screw anchors or something similar here in Tx things like to take flight frequently due to our good ole high winds..
Keep pushing. The content will take care of you. Damn weather everywhere is crazy.
23:06 LOL 🤣
Where's Studpack? A missed collab no one knew they needed. Both in TX now too 😅😂
Brother you are the men, love the videos and keep up the amazing work men we can all agree these men is unstoppable
I would put lime down on the corners of the shop dirt
Had to laugh about the DR Horton comment. Went thru similar stuff on my house in Florida. They have zero quality control and the post sale support is a joke. Could wipe my azz with the warranty. Anyway, love what you are doing. Thanks for sharing the journey with us.
Love this build series!
Thanks for watching!
I'm happy for you you're doing great! Keep going 👍
I'm mostly commenting to make the almighty algorithm happy. We moved to Utah and bought our first home (after 4 kids and traveling the world) and had to go out of our way to find a place that DIDN'T have an HOA - seems like the people here have a hard-on for HOAs. I see their value, but I want more to be able to fly an American flag outside my home if I want. On a more relevant note: have you decided how you're going to do the electrical? I would imagine that such a magnificent shop would require a ton of power; possibly 75 to 100 amps? I'm hoping to build a backyard shop, but being on .23 acres, it'll be a hobby shop that has some wood, metal, and (minor) blacksmithing. Would that I had the space for my own lift! Happy to see others living their dream and hoping that I can get some inspiration in my projects!
Rust-oleum professional paint for your fence
best luck on you mate, hard tiem create good men
Awesome progress!!..can’t wait to see the finish!!👍🏽..Aloha bruddah 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Good job man
Just doing my part to support this build
Great video like always. I had some trouble with your builder on a new home before so I'm not surprised.
I'm surprised the power company doesn't buried the power lines. I know it's more expensive but in the long run it would be cheaper. I don't like HOA. My require 1 tree in the front yard. If the tree is dead than that's OK but if you take it out you are required to plant other tree. They drive around 2 times a month to write people up but at the same time they don't take care of the common areas. They say the home owners don't own the fence and you can't touch it but if the brick start to fall off then nothing is done. Hopefully you will get your well deserved gargle done.
Looking good! Love your videos!
I hit the subscribe button to help you out,Cheers from Australia !!
Your truck exhaust sounds good, but if you want it to sound awesome, you should put a Black Widow Neighbor Hater on it😮
Ps. My kids and I enjoy watching your channel.
Awesome keep it up!
You always do a hell of a job, good work, my friend.
Damn, 88k ain't that bad. I was expecting something around 150k for the so far progress. You doing some of the work helps alot with cutting down on cost, so that hard work pays off.
I just bought today is a 2017 chevy 1500 Realtree time to give it some love with a lift
You got this.
Dam son!! Not good. Hope all is going to be alright. Love the series!
Keep going my guy!
Grease the part of the fence post that sleeves in? I feel like it will just rust into one piece.
Probably a good idea... need to do that this weekend.
It's been entertaining. Thanks for the video's
Keep on digging dude! Btw looks like we are neighbors of sorts.. 🤙🏻
I'm suprised you didn't just add a heavy-duty caster wheels on the fence to use for easy open and close.... where like a regular gate or a barn door.
Cheehoo! keep it up my braddah!
Tornadoes is why I left Texas 2.5 years ago. Lived there for 17 years and had enough.
same as FL they have high rates because of the risky climate
HOAs wouldn't fly in aus. We have councils, which are a pain, but I get to choose my own designs..
I've been watching u for a long time and u are the most humble UA-cam ever keep on
We went through Hurricane Ian.....a year later and still fighting with insurance. First claim in 30 years and nightmare to get paid. Finally just paying for the roof ourselves...sucks.
