The part I love the most about it is actually Kenma's and Noya's reactions. Noya is proud because he saw what Hinata was doing the entire time: learning, calculating, predicting. Noya encouraged him every time and complimented his positioning when he got too close to the ball and when everyone else was laughing at him. I love Kenma's reaction because he's just so fond of Hinata. Kenma sees Hinata as someone who is an infinite source of possibilities. And he's just fond that Hinata is here surprising everyone over and over again. Always with something new and something better. I just love them so much for believing in Shoyo. ;-;
I'm glad you mentioned Noya's reactions to Hinata's improved defense, I love how hyped he gets when Hinata finally gets the perfect receive. So proud of his kouhai
when you realize that Osamu pulled off a minus tempo without training and at the same time we know that Oikawa, Akashi ,Kenma and Suga(who are all great setters) said that is impossible to them. Inarizaki is just something else. They have the best setter, a great couple of middle blockers, a top 5 ace, a great libero and their opposite hitter has the skill to be a top 5 setter in the country. Oh yes and their captain comes off the bench with some clutch performances.
@@miyanagikosaki7808 i dont think so. It's just that Osamu and Atsumu raw talent is the same. The difference is that Osamu does not train as a setter. Or at least not as much as Atsumu, because is not his position. Also Oikawa for example is known for having a slower quick even compared with other setters. And Akashi himself said that he is not at the level to pull off something like that yet(but he said it when he was 2nd year, so who knows if he could do something like that in his third year). Kenma just doesn't meet the minimum physical requirements to do it.
@@mence5992 i can see that oikawa can do minus tempo if he tries. I mean he is really talented as a setter. If kageyama is 100, atsumu would be 98 and oikawa would be 96. Not that far of a talent imo
Shouyou is literally the sun , lighting up the whole gym 😭. And also big thumbs up to my boy Akagi for that crazy foot save. He doesn't get much appreciation sadly. Liberos in haikyuu are so wholesome I love each one of them sm.
i honestly don't want your haikyuu reactions to end :(((( i love them so much. you're hands down my favorite hq reactor i hope they announce season 5 soon D:
They cant do season 5 at the moment because many voice actors have packed schedules these days, especially kenma, kageyama, tanaka and nishinoya's voice actor
that libero of inarizaki needs a raise. he saved their asses so many times. he is probably the best no name player we got to see. i know he has a name but most people dont know it and he doesnt really speak aswell
Yes, Akagi deserves more praise. That foot save is what makes him my most favourite Inarizaki member. Not to mention his clean receives of Kageyama and Asahi's serves too, he's willing to slam his face on the floor just to get the ball up.
Hinata is too underrated, he is such a precious bean and kind kid that always give you positive energy. I just love him so much, what an inspiring character.
1:47 He was actually looking at his school's motto. Challenge yourself today, don't keep holding onto your past, achievements in the past dont really matter. That's what the motto means.
The reason for the Karasuno players to be so surprised is because Miyatwins pulls a minus tempo quick on *reverse* , and Osamu - not being a setter, managed to do a set that are hard for other setters to replicate; while Atsumu - the setter, normally his position doesn't require spiking that much (as Suga only practice spiking in this third year), got it over the net with ease. This is cut from the reaction video, but "Sky Love Hurricane" refers to a signature move of Tachibana twins in Captain Tsubasa, basically a shout-out to another well-known sport anime.
To add to this, iirc even Oikawa has once said that he can't do a freak quick toss. So Osamu being able to pull it off so casually (regardless of Tsumu's critique abt it) is really crazy. Also, the move from Captain Tsubasa is actually officially translated as Skylab Hurricane. Take it from someone who was once part of the team who translated the official mobile game. (The move names were already pretranslated and part of the guidelines, so it's not our team's translation). Tbh I have no idea how the official Haikyuu translations/subs get it wrong. Captain Tsubasa is from Jump anyway so they shouldn't be needing to censor the move name.
@@milkntomatoes9418 It was only possible because of both Osamu and Atsumu. Give Oikawa or Kageyama someone like Osamu and they will pull off a freak quick. Plus, Oikawa said all that when he didn't believe in his skill. All of his character arc ended at him finally letting all his doubts go and you know what happened. His crazy cross court set.
I don't think Atsumu passing on the 1st touch is a lack of teamplay. On the contrary it gives the more options as you could see, his amazing skills makes it possible to make a good and accurate pass for the spikers but since it's only the 1st touch it made it possible to faint and redo a pass to Aran on the other side of the net. Hence him passing the ball on the 1st touch does not bring any disadvantage in the game. Edit: gives more options*
There was a lot moments sprinkled in there that shows him growing. And it all started when he changed his perspective as a ball boy. Which opened up his eyes to the whole game of volleyball, and that moment, oooo that moment. I still love it! When everyone is down and out at the end he comes through for them because of his love for volleyball and how addicting it is to keep getting better. Chills.
Honestly chills this episode!! Wherever you expect the least Hinata comes to deliver. It was such a proud moment when they showed the flashback of everyone growing and now Hinata as an individual has a strong standing. Loved the scene where Osamu was comparing hunger to volleyball for Hinata and how everyone gets hungry or motivated too watching him. Such a ball of sunshine❤
teddy, I've been watching the journey from the beginning but I'm not one to usually comment. This is my favourite episode in the series so far as it encapsulates Hinata's progression since episode 1. Keep out up good work! Really enjoy your reactions.
I can't wait for next episode, my favorite moment in the entire series. This was my second favorite. Just absolutely amazing writing, voice acting, animation choice, musical composition, it's perfect.
i think this episode highlights pretty well the most important meaning of the "we dont need memories" banner. it doesnt matter if we were second best in japan yesterday, all we need is to be the best today, focus on the present, and the past wont overwhelm you
oh my god teddy the 2 touch attack(where the setter touches the ball first and sets it) is insanely good. Atsumu aint stealing nothing he's just being hella good.
I love how this season sowed so may plot points in the beginning and then the series focuses on other things or characters so you kinda almost forget about them and then at that moment, boom, they pay it off.
Some details that maybe u didn't notice: the reason why they did a big fuss about the Twins Minus Tempo Quick this time, was because it was reversed, Osamu (Wing Spiker) was setting Atsumu(Setter), thats why was a crazy play and people said "dont worry, it was a fluke", Osamu not being a setter and being able to pull that off during a match, impressive. The other thing, dunno if u noticed that the name of the episode is Piton, a Piton is exactly the metal thingy that climbers use that apears in the "climb" analogy when Hinana receives, it's not a miracles, it's hinata slowly climbing and putting piton after piton. The Piton analogy is one of my favorite analogies in the anime, love it. Anyway, don't understimate the role of being a Ball Boy right? ;)
Since i started watching your Haikyuu reactions, i was looking forward to 3 moments: Karasuno third-years hug after beating Shiratorizawa, Hinatas recieve in this episode and the last one is yet to come. I love watching your reactions and you quickly became my top 2 people reacting to Haikyuu and anime in general. Keep up the good work, love watching you.
Just so you get the title’s meaning, a _piton_ is kind of like a metal spike with a loop/ring on it. It’s a device used in rock climbing. You hammer it into the rock and can then hook your rope onto it to help safely climb higher or just hang out and rest for a bit (and they also act as a way to slow you down if you fall). The title is a reference to what that bearded coach says during Hinata’s big receive moment, about climbing a mountain, reaching out and finding a foothold to rest at for a while.
Just like Hinata fell one level deeper into volleyball after that receive, I too fell one level deeper after this whole episode. This has to be one of my favorite episodes for Hinata... the receive after all his hard work, then cut to the despair everyone felt after losing that rally and it's Hinata again who picks them all back up, just radiating pure joy and excitement... this all never fails to bring tears to my eyes, Hinata is so important to me as a character... welp, bye now, gotta keep crying thinking of how far he's come already TvT
I know I'm kind of beating a dead horse at this point, but again this episode is really where they start talking about the banner which is a shame that comments kind of spoiled its meaning cuz at this point we're supposed to see all of their hard work come to fruition and all of their backstories are more or less finished being told so we kind of get a full understanding of how their team mentality is
I need people to recognize that Hinata lives and breathes volleyball! Every success he has is written off as a fluke. I'm so glad that he continues to prove people wrong
It would've been so easy to make Hinata your typical protagonist that gets his way and is just better than others, but he's written so damn well. That recieve wasn't anything 'special'. Every other player on the field can do a recieve like that on occasion. It's the fact that the guy who only cared about spiking, who was considered an awful reciever and only worthwhile because of Kageyama, worked so damn hard in such a 'lame' fashion as being a ball boy and now look at him. He earned that recieve and it made it 100x better than if he just did it out of pure instinct or something of the sort
"i dont want to be the guy who requests but i'm doing exactly that right now". Do you think saying that first somehow makes it seem like you are not just as bad ?
