"Locing comes first, length later"- what I'm going to work with as of now
Kraxy Kam it will happen sooner than you think!
@@daelocs I have twist for 3 weeks how should I start my loc please
@@therealusgodblessus7111 jus leave em twisted they’ll loc
@@Yelijah17 thank you so much 😘
@@therealusgodblessus7111 you’re welcome! You can wash em with a wig cap on so they don’t unravel in those first few months. Then retwist once a month and you’ll be fine
When we embrace our LOCS... it’s a beautiful thing
THIS 🥲😊 it’s like an extension of accepting myself ❤
Dae girl. U know i gotta comment lol🤭 but ur 1 year loc update is HANDS DOWN the best cause u showed EVERYTHING, highs & lows & u told us verbally with the pics. Ur so relatable!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😘
Erin Nicole yessss my girl is in the comments 😂😂❤️ thanks for always being sooo supportive
@@daelocs 🤣🤣🤣🤚🏾🤚🏾🤚🏾
I'm a month in and so far I love but there are days when I feel less confident bc of rude/cruel comments by the ppl around me. It's painful and discouraging. Many ppl don't understand the loc process and how it works but there's no way I'm giving up. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Journey💙
I was getting negative comments at first as well. I was asked, why am I getting them? I need to get my hair done. Those little twisty things are gonna be cute? (Some of these were from my mom. 😂😂😡) Now, they all want locs. I'm 9 months in. It definitely strengthen my confidence.
@@ThatsAshD Awww lol this makes me excited for the journey ahead. Thanks for sharing.
Naomi girl we all get those negative comments but the same people will be complimenting you when your hair is long and healthy! Hang in there ❤️❤️
@@daelocs Thanks,Love I will!
Your loc jouney is your jouney. You are beautiful inside and out. People are negative because they don't understand the process keep your jouney going beautiful one. Stay blessed and stay loc'd.
I survived by wearing wigs. But month 7 I ditched them because my hair grew so much and wigs started looking like helmets😭😂. Now I wear my hair out all the time and I'm so happy and comfortable despite the "crazy" fuzziness
This is where I'm at rn. I can only wear wigs if my hair is loose. Once its styled wigs be gone. My wigs will probably miss me
cant wait to stop ware wig .i niw started
@@laurajohnson7179 me too!! Month 1is long!!!
That’s how I’m gonna get through my ugly stage lol wearing wigs 😂❤️
I'm one week and one wash in and I'm so hopeful but rocking these wigs until I'm ready to wear my locs.
I know we're talking about your locs, but babyyyy, you're make up looks so good in all these pictures 😍😭
I started so short that your month 12 length is my 28 month length. I had s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s of months that just looked crazy! The journey is definitely a part of it. Sis we are all getting there!
Yesss! Everyone’s story is different! Thank you for sharing
I'm cannotget enough of this video. I come back to you time and time again! You offer guidance , support, experience, truth and love throughout your journey which pours over into your followers! Thank YOU for authenticity and life relevance!
I love this video because you are keeping it real. Your locs are beautiful and so are you. You didn’t struggle for nothing. Your struggle was to help others like me along the way. Stay blessed 🙌🏽
I watched this video months ago just starting out myself, now I’m 11 months into my journey! Hardest part is not comparing my locs to others at the same stage.
Your locs are beautiful and so are you! You’ve inspired to take this journey and I’m going to install my starter locs this week! Happy loc’versary!
Omg yaaay!! You’re going to LOVE it!
Love it! I'm 6 months in loc'd and I'm trying to trust in this process. It's not easy. Your videos are so helpful.
Ok two months into my Loc journey. I want healthy locs before length. Healthy locs equals growth 🌱. And if you don’t pay attention to your hair I feel like it makes the time go by faster lol in no time you’ll notice the growth. I can’t wait to see what else my journey has in store
Hi Dae, I'm on my second set. I had Locs for 6 years. Due to mild alopecia, I had to cut them off. I got treatments for my scalp from a dermatologist. After 4 months, I started praying over my scalp and watching UA-cam videos regularly on how to care for alopecia. I was amazed at how my scalped healed and my hair grew back. No more itching, burning or soreness...
I decided to start my Locs again in April of this year. Although I had a low cut, I had enough to do two strand twist. So glad I did. My locs are short, very short, but locking really good due to my kinky kinky hair texture.
Your locks are beautiful and I love the size. I had to make mine smaller, because my hair isn't as thick as before the alopecia... Thanks for the inspiration. You are a "💎" gem!
Omg what a beautiful story 😭😭😭❤️❤️ thank you for sharing!!
Hi, Have you created a video on how you treated your alopecia? Your prayer life surely offered a powerful part of your healing. Many could benefit from your successful testimony! Congratulations
Beautiful! I’m almost to 3 mths loc’d. I’m loving it so far 🌱
ohseauxnatural so glad to hear!
Hi love just want to no wht products did u start ur locs with and did u do a two strand twist or did u just twist ur hair ? And after how long do u do ur first retwist after installing please help
Chanel G I started with oil and water, you can use a touch of gel but it’s not necessary. I used two strand twists and retwisted every two weeks until they got longer. Now I retwist once a month
Just started my locs about a week ago and I have to say your loc videos include a lot of information for me to get through my journey
Love ur locs💞
Hey !!! So I have instant locs and I'm 3 weeks in I've been documenting my journey so far on my channel (new to vlogging lol) if anyone wants to see how that method works lol but you are a inspiration and a big help when it comes to locs your videos are clear, informative and just fun to watch, I really appreciate them 🤗
I am happy to have stumbled upon your video. I am thinking about locking my hair and have been doing extensive research. Thank you for this video.
I have been waiting for this video. Finally!!! I am Currently 11 months in and next month will be my 1 year loc journey I won't lie there were times I wanted to give up after finding your channel I was just happy to see someone with similar locs like mine so thank you so much for sharing your journey with us and congratulations on reaching 1 year Sending love from South Africa.
Omggg South Africa 😍 thank you so much for the support!
WHEN ON YOUR JOURNEY WE DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HOW OUR HAIR IS FORMING. IT IS APART OF YOUR JOURNEY. EVERYONE HAIR WILL NOT OR BE NOT THE SAME. IT WILL NOY LOC THE SAME. WE SO DO NOT NEED A CERTAIN PATTERN OR STYLE TO BE OR LOOK LIKE SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ELSE !!! IT IS NOT AN UGLY STAGE! GOING NATURAL & LOC DOES NOT MEAN IT NEED TO BE NEAT!! ENJOY YOUR PROCESS, LONG SHORT, THICK OR THIN. WHATEVER THE SIZE OR PATTERNS ARE, ENJOY YOUR TIME WITH YOUR HAIR AND GROW WITH YOUR HAIR SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND LOVING 🥰. GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO LOVE ❤️ THE NEW YOU!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I AM 1 YEAR LOC.
I love this video. It’s showing me the up’s and downs of how my journey will be.!I’m so excited for my journey and I will have to refer to this video if I get frustrated. I have a protective style now and trying to grow out my sides and back because it’s shaved, but for now I’m going to watch these videos and learn as much as I can. I am a new subscriber
I'm in tears as I watch this. I'm so glad I stumbled on this video. I had an afro as well which I loved but my spirit was screaming that this wasn't me at all. After much prayer and consideration, I took the plunge almost a week ago. My sister did it for me as she is loc'd 8 years and counting. It's styled like yours !! I'm so nervous about the journey, wondering what I will look like, the phases etc. It's seems the same mantra is being repeated by so many loc sisters including my own sister which is ...Trust the process. It's your own marathon not a spirit. Thank you for this video. It is the most encouraging video I've watched this far.
I’m so happy for you!
I looooovvveee this....first lemme say this is my 3rd time attempting to lock my hair and I always give up around month 2 and just go back to my curls but seeing you push through those stages especially when you felt insecure gave me a strength I didn't even know I needed. I love how you described each stage and showed gratitude the most for the rough stages. This makes me wanna go even harder now and stick it through. So glad I came across this video. You definitely have a new subscriber✨💞
Yesss stick with it! You will thank yourself later! ❤️❤️
I’m almost 6 months and my ends have sealed and I feel more confident in wearing it out. Honestly I never style it much because I just love how it looks out on its own. Though there are FEW moments where I don’t feel as confident but I just look at myself and be like “SIS YOU ARE FINE”
Thank you for not giving up ❤️ your hair is lovely
I started my locs yesterday on my 35 birthday. You are such an inspiration..I watched every single video ..I was so geeked you liked my Instagram you're like a celebrity 😊🤣 thank you for your content and encouragement 🙌🏾🙏🏽
courtney harris omg congrats on your new journey!! ❤️❤️ you’re going to LOVE them!
You're Beautiful Dae, just beautiful! Congratulations for making it to 12 months. Your loc videos are always really awesome! I can't wait to get to 12 months.
Kauna Heita awww thank you so much for this!!
Your locs have flourished.... Yes for me it was in my 7-8 Months is when i started seeing the change... It was locking for real... Thanks for sharing
Month 3 has tested my patience more than ever but I do see the difference as I go month to month..... Yur kind words and videos help me and a lot of others push through the different stages of our own loc journey.... Happi 1yr locaversary🎉🎊
This is the best loc journey I've seen. Thank you for being so transparent.
I love how you presented each month. That was great.. you are beautiful. I’m 3 months in and enjoying my local. Thanks for sharing your loc journey with us.
I am learning to embrace the frizz! It's becoming a whole vibe for me.
beautiful. this is so encouraging I am currently 2 months in~
NAIJAMADE E omg yes! Hang in there ❤️
Me too man smh lol
I smiled watching this. I am sitting here with my bonnet on with a cold situation underneath lol I am about to start mine, and this will be perfect since int Jan❤your genuineness is refreshing. My hubby is supportive too so I know how much it helps!! 😁 Thank you for being transparent! I got a big ass head😫, so this will be interesting 🤣🥰
😂 you’ve got this! Congrats ❤️
Today makes one week. I know my journey is gonna be unique, fun and interesting. You give me so much hope❤️❤️
omggg your locs are so pretty !! 🥺 this is my 10th month . and my hair was about your length when you started . i was really insecure when i started because it was short the people at my school were just a mess ( i’m in middle school ) . but now my hair is getting longer and i love it .
Love this video! This makes me not want to give up! I’m on month two & it definitely teaches u discipline! It’s not easy but I’m going to push my way thru!
This video gave me so much hope. I am 5 months in and I wear a lot of other styles over my locs but I can see the growth. Thank you for this video!!!
Yesss don’t give up!
New subbie! You are so pretty. Your journey is definitely inspiring. I love your locs. I am a little over 5 months braid locs. I can definitely relate to the friz and the shrinkage. My hair was around BSL to mid back when I started. However, my locs are shrunken up and look shoulders.😂🤣
Awe and congratulations to you for making it to 1 year. I just met 3 months on July 5th and in a lot of my baby locs I can feel a loc forming. I've had budding since month 2 but the hair was still felt soft and what I knew my hair to feel like. Now in a few locs in the middle are hardening up and feeling different from what I am used to. I've never felt a loc although many people in my life have or have had locs. I can't wait to make it to a month where my retwist stays And I start getting some length. I have 4c hair and it normally shrinks but this shrinkage now is ridiculous. But I feel good about it because obviously my hair is doing what it needs to to become a loc. I'm so excited. I can't wait to hit 12 months. Congratulations again
I feel you on the shrinkage. It had me mad for about 2months. But its alot better now. I'm 7months in and I feel better and better each day. I take time out with my hair. Just talking to it😂 telling it how beautiful it is. I think it helps😂
I have to admit I really appreciate your testimonials. Your delivery was honest.. You expressed feelings were exactly what someone who committed to dread Locs could feel. Ty
This is a wonderful and encouraging video! Thanks for sharing🥰
I loved your video. It was detailed and that's what I was searching for. I'm at one month and I'm so excited to go through the process.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm four months in and it's because of you. I value your videos because I actually trust myself with my locs, to maintain and retwist them myself instead of going to a loctician. You are an inspiration. Keep shining for Jesus.❤️
Thank you SOOO MUCH for this video of your journey! I love your commentary during the slide show. It made it so much easier to understand your loc process. I'm starting mine and this was so helpful!! And your eyebrow game is sick hun😉 luv em'
Really enjoyed your video brought real tears to my eyes. I'm in month 5 and I really am loving it and felt you when you said your mentality changed and how thankful you are. Just a beautiful thing.
Aawww omg 😭❤️
You're hair from month one to now is gorgeous! You're so beautiful. You're make-up is on point in all of your photos.
It's so good to know that you have a Boaz that supports you!!! Thanks for the photos & honesty of how you felt during your progess, it helps a lot. I'm starting my dreads this month. I'm so nervous!
I thank you for sharing your dread journey. I'm on the journey myself & your style tips are needed sis 💜
Tender Dread yesss! And congrats on your journey ❤️
I'm on month 0. Your are beautiful and so are your locs.
Very beautiful, your hair is beautiful no matter how you wear it. As long as its clean and healthy., And sending out love to my ball sistas who have courage to know hair doesn't define who we be. Thank you for sharing this sista.
Happy 1 year locaversary Dae, your locs look gorgeous. Mine will be in Feb 11th next year, I can't wait for that milestone ☺️
Yayyy!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Beautiful flourishing journey!! I’ve taken still pics of my locs every month but now I regret not capturing video as well 😒 I had to save this video so I can keep watching and stay encouraged!

You are beautiful and so are to your locs. You will better with minimal makeup
I'm so happy for you sis congratulations💃love your motivational speeches in your videos keep up the great work Blessings.
PYNK RAYN thank you for always supporting me!!
I’m about to loc my hair again for the 4th time, I haven’t trust the process and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th times. The persons didn’t do them to my satisfaction or listen to me. I promise myself this time I’m going to stick it out. And the person that is doing my hair loves me so I know she will do it correct. So thank you for the encouragement about give it a year. ❤️God bless
Soo glad i found you right at the beginning of my loc journey. I kinda started this journey quite randomly and with very little information. I was starting to think that I will look like a little homeless boy for the next few years till there's length to make it 'pretty', until now. Now I know i can have itty bitty locs AND make them cute myself while I wait for length. Keep posting sis. Also you are absolutely gorgeous and I love what a wifey you are lol. Love from South Africa.
Thank you for sharing your Loc journey. I’m in my 4th month journey, and I’m loving it. This is my second time around also. I love all your tutorials
Sis , i know this video is about your locs … but your make up is doing what it needs to do cause wow🔥😍
Thank you so much for this video. I just started my loc journey 2 months ago your video gave me the extra push I need to keep going. I’m going to TRUST the process!
Not even halfway through and this video is giving me second-hand confidence! Thank you
your video gave me confident in my new journey of locks im in my 3-4 months rough stage by looking at your video gave me a positive vibe im having problems with my ends.
Thank you for this video !! I needed some clarification! I’ve been loc’d for 6 months so far ❤️
It’s so hard for me to find a full journey of people with two strand starters! Thank you so much for this, I’ve been thinking about locing for almost a year but I’m still nervous and trying to be really thorough about my research.
Do it! I started with 2 strands...best decision i could've made 😄
Happy locaversary, sis. 😊 Your journey is one of the realest I've been following. I'll be 8 months on the 23rd and I still have my days but not as much as month 5 lol. My hair hangs for a longer period of time and I even did an ACV rinse... yeah. I had buildup even without using products. I guess I wasn't washing them well enough. Anyhoo, I'm seeing more length as it drops and I think about them a lot less now.
This video is giving me strength.
Happy Locversary!!!☺ Im 10 months in💪....waitn on tha changes in a year!!!😊
I wish a could triple smash on the like button because THANK YOU 😭✨💕 this video has inspired me to KEEP GOING! I'm three days into my locs and it's really dawning on me I'm loc'd like idk I'm ready to go back but I need this for myself esteem. It's hard but this video is exactly what I needed thank thank thank you so much
Beautiful, beautiful journey 😍😍😍! Thanks so much for sharing ❤️! Hoping to start my locs soon 🤗!
I will be 7 months locd on the 24th! Thanks so much for sharing your journey. It definitely makes me look forward to my 1 year anniversary. 😍
I'm just seeing this but I'm so tempted to start my own now. We have such similat hair and I also already always have hair in two-strand twists already and I always think what if I started my own locs. My thing is I already bought loc extensions and I wanted to put those in but nowwww I may have wasted money lol who knows. But you're so beautiful and I love your locs. Congrats on 1 YEAR!!!
I hope you started!
Im two days in. Watching this made me feel better.
I’m literally getting starter locs today this video was inspiration for me . I started my locs 6 months ago and took them out a week later but this time I’m going to stick it out
Congrats on your new journey!
You come so far 👏🏽✨ Your locs are gorgeous 😊 I can’t wait until my locs are at a year 🌱✨
Happy Loc Anniversary 🎉 Your locs have grown out so pretty! I will be 4 months on July 20th. The loose hair and frizz is REAL!
This Sunday, November 5, 2023 will be 11 months! Even that number excites me! Yes, Queen!🎉❤ 💃🏿💃🏿
Girllll!!! You are absolutely gorgeous and you looked confident from day one! I love the journey and want to say thank you for your informative video. 🥰❤️🙌🏾
Happy Locaversary!🎉🎈You and your locs are beautiful. 😊
Your loc's are beautiful 👑 Your video was so helpful. I'm in the beginning...the very beginning stage at just 4 weeks (two strand twist). I'm going to be patient 😩 but I cannot wait to say I've been loc'd for a year. 🥰
Thank you for showing your determination, truth, and for the psychological preparation needed to endure the journey ❤️ #TeamCommitted

Luv your locs... I believe we started around the same time and our hair might be the same far as that awkward stage and being thin, but since I loc my hair it has gotten thicker...so congrats on your one year keep doing what your doing and many blessings on journey 🙂 from another loc sista.
Am just a week old. Watching this gives me hope. Ive got to be patient
Thank you for sharing your journey with us! I’m in month 2 and I’m about to wash my hair and really embrace the stages.
"Much 💘 love Dae...You made it!"😊
Beautiful! TFS your journey. I've been a loose natural for several years and plan to start my loc journey this year.
Best lox journey I’ve found. Thank you love🖤 but now I’m panicking because I don’t think mine are thick enough😬
This is inspiring. I'm 8 months in and counting
Love this! ❤️ Your locs look great! 🥰I can’t wait to start. I shaved my head 5 months ago. I’m giving it to the 12 month mark to start my journey. Wish me luck! 🤞🏽
