    No more shea mostiure. I tell all my health people throw it away. They sold the company and the authenticity has changed. No longer black owned. I love your videos. I am doing my second set. I cut my last set because of thinning. I will definitely leave my hair alone this time

    Thanks for sharing . I'm 18 months in my locs journey and I'm old and retired and knew nothing about the upkeep. Because of your videos and others I now maintain them myself and pick good products and my hair to my surprise is growing like a weed!

    The trick to bleaching is to do it only once a year . My hair is REALLY healthy . It’s all about moisture and taking time in between

    I bleached my hair before I started my locs. I took great care of it before doing so because I knew that after I loced it I needed to have a routine with them.And my hair is growing really well, and it’s not dry or falling out.

    Thanks for being straight up and honest about these things. Those are all the mistakes I made with my first set of locks because I didn't know what I was doing. I kept that set for 4 years and I literally cried when I had to let it go because it was damaged from all the product buildup, lint, bleach etc.

    I’ve been bleaching my hair before and after locing, because I love that look. I don’t like when my hair is all black or too dark. It’s been 17yrs now since I have my locs and my hair is all the way down past my butt, I am about 5ft 2in tall. My hair is very thick my edges are intact never had any issues with that.

This video however is to warn others (like me) who think they will have results like yours, but the reality is many people cannot bleach their hair and still have thick healthy hair, especially if their hair wasn’t thick to begin with. I’ve bleached mine twice in 4 years. My hair is healthy and everyone says I have the healthiest locs they’ve seen. My jus be due to how thick my locs are are and I also take daily vitamins and biotin and keratin. Drink lots of water as well. So those might play a big factor since a lot of ppl don’t get all the nutrients to have the healthiest strongest hair they could have.

      @JamieBreakawayBell 4 роки тому +2

      Box dyes to lighten still have bleach in them and you don't know what level they are. If you want to do it yourself, personally after doing research for myself, I would find salon grade products (have a friend with a cosmetic license or there are a few stores) and use a 10 or 20 volume developer with bleach never a 40 volume. That way you know how much is being put in and you are using the most gentle thing you can to lift you color before adding color dye to it. 😊

    West Indie Rae bleaches her locs 2 to 3 times a year and it's healthy!! She has a great routine to maintain moisture. You definitely have to start on healthy hair tho 💯

    Hello Dae,
    Would leave-in conditioners that are water-based be ok? I typically mix mine in a spray bottle with water, tea tree oil, vitamin e oil, and argan oil.
    P.S. I'm a week 1/2 in and I'm so in love with my little two-strand twist and I can't wait for them to mature!!!

    How about tea tree oil just to keep your locs moisturized?

      Alicia Williams hey Alicia! Tea tree oil is very drying. I would recommend using it on the scalp if you have issues with oily scalp but, not the Locs. In my household, we use tea tree oil to dry out pimples.

      Jonelle Bailey I actually tried that lol, I tried every trick on UA-cam that is supposed to work. It may work on others but, not in my experience.
