No more shea mostiure. I tell all my health people throw it away. They sold the company and the authenticity has changed. No longer black owned. I love your videos. I am doing my second set. I cut my last set because of thinning. I will definitely leave my hair alone this time
Thanks for sharing . I'm 18 months in my locs journey and I'm old and retired and knew nothing about the upkeep. Because of your videos and others I now maintain them myself and pick good products and my hair to my surprise is growing like a weed!
I bleached my hair before I started my locs. I took great care of it before doing so because I knew that after I loced it I needed to have a routine with them. And my hair is growing really well, and it’s not dry or falling out.
Yes I dyed my hair BEFORE I loc’d. Maybe about a month before I started and mine are only 5 months in and so far they’re healthy! But to me dying them AFTER You’ve loc’d is the worst
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Enzo Cristiano I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks for being straight up and honest about these things. Those are all the mistakes I made with my first set of locks because I didn't know what I was doing. I kept that set for 4 years and I literally cried when I had to let it go because it was damaged from all the product buildup, lint, bleach etc.
I use Cream If Nature Argan Leave in Spray! But I still rinse it out. I also use their ACV Clairfying rinse! That stuff is wonderful! After I wash my Sisterlocks, that is the final step to my wash day! It makes my scalp & locs feel so clean! It smells wonderful!!
I had someone start my locs. Before I started them I already had set a goal to maintain them myself. I enjoy getting a good shampoo at the salon. However, I love it every more when I can take my time and see what is going on with my own locs and maintenance them.
Thank you for this. I did my own retwist for the 1st time 2 days ago. my last retwist was 3 months prior due to lockdown and i agree that waiting too long can cause damage cause of having to split the hair. wont do that again
You're so right about the bleaching. I know people with bleach, honey blonde hair. It looks frazzled to me. Now to just use the same color of your own hair or just deposit color. The best color I've ever used and it colors the Grey's. Is MISS CLAIROL'S "ADVANCED GREY SOLUTION" BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION!
The best conditioning for your hair is locks is what you ingest. One tsp coconut oil every 4 to 5 days. Drinking recommended daily water consumption.taking you vitamin c,A &E and other essential vitamins. Dont wash with abrasive soaps. Use aloe, witch hazel, tuna plant, okra water as your styling option. I’ve been bleaching my hair before and after locing, because I love that look. I don’t like when my hair is all black or too dark. It’s been 17yrs now since I have my locs and my hair is all the way down past my butt, I am about 5ft 2in tall. My hair is very thick my edges are intact never had any issues with that.
I’m glad it’s worked out for you! This video however is to warn others (like me) who think they will have results like yours, but the reality is many people cannot bleach their hair and still have thick healthy hair, especially if their hair wasn’t thick to begin with. Thanks for your response!
So glad to see this comment. I just started my locs a month ago and my hair is green and it will stay green‼️ Which means I have to bleach it. I don’t like black hair so I will be bleaching the roots as I go along. So I’m glad to hear your thoughts.👍👍
lightener is tricky especially if you are trying to grow hair but if you have strong hair and don't over process it🤣🤣🤣 it can be a fun addition to your style
I bleach my bf hair when he was two years loc and now 6 years later his back to black and his hair is beautiful long and health it all depends on how you take care of your care when bleach Nd how often
I think this loc journey will be just right for me!😆😆😆I ain like doing nothing with my hair. I just saw someone recommend oil and water in a spray bottle and greasing my scalps. I like that so Yh, that’s that and like I said I bought about 9 wraps, LOVE THEM!
As far as the buildup, couldn't you just do a hair detox/ soak to remove product buildup? Just asking. I don't have locs but am doing my research before I get them.
Thank you so much for this video. I just got my first set of locs. About to go to sleep and started freaking. Haha I knew I had to cover them before bed.
So I bleached my hair and it’s healthy when my loc tech started my locs she was surprised my locs were healthy hydrated n soft and I still have my curls but I do bleach with expensive products that get it blonde In 20 mins I mix white conditioner n oils in the bleach before I do it

Hey hun! I just started my sons loc with the two strand twist method. I used gel to twist when should his first wash be? I’m afraid of them unraveling. They’re about an inch long. Also how often should he be moisturizing ?
I cut my locs off after 3 & 1/2 yrs, because I saw the build up from using conditioner & whipped shea butter. I really miss them & wish found someone to detox them.

I’ve bleached mine twice in 4 years. My hair is healthy and everyone says I have the healthiest locs they’ve seen. My jus be due to how thick my locs are are and I also take daily vitamins and biotin and keratin. Drink lots of water as well. So those might play a big factor since a lot of ppl don’t get all the nutrients to have the healthiest strongest hair they could have.
Hi I've had my locs for over a year now. I've bleached my hair so I'll be able to dye with a red colour and luckily my hair is healthy and clean. But it's not in my plans to always bleach becos now it'll be easier to dye with a red colour on my head
Great loc video. I use DevaCurl Super Stretch Coconut Curl Elongator. I'm freeform atm but I'm not sure how this conditioner will work for my loc journey. It washes out right and is light and creamy however it's still thick.
I really hate when people tell me to retwist my locs I also started working at a new job and feel self conscious wearing my locs because I work around all white people they don’t even know I have locs because I’ve been wearing a wig since I started a week ago I don’t like tension on my hair and I don’t want to damage my hair trying to please them so this video helped a lot

Box dyes to lighten still have bleach in them and you don't know what level they are. That way you know how much is being put in and you are using the most gentle thing you can to lift you color before adding color dye to it. 😊
