  • Our planet is host to an immense variety of life, much of which is a large variety of plants that cover the globe. Considering how large the planet is and the multiple types of climate that exist, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that there are a few bizarre and uncommon plants that many have never heard of.

    #1 looks like a lagolier from one of Stephen Kings worst movies.
    You should totally do a follow up on trees, because there are some f'd up trees, like the sandbox tree, that has caustic sap, is covered black spikes, and has seed pods that explode so violently, they have been known to injure people standing under them, or the manchineel tree, a tree with the benign sounding nickname "the beech apple tree" that is so toxic that even standing under one in a rain storm will give humans anaphylactic burns.

    Parasitic is the wrong word for number 7, parasitic implies that it alone benefits from the relationship, if both the plant and fungus benefit, then it's symbiotic.

      Apple Woods yes I also thought that was funny when Tuffnut and Ruffnut knew about that lol, but I knew that already my sister wanted me to watch that with her

    • @pinkythepinkslime6170
      @pinkythepinkslime6170 5 років тому +12

      I'm sorry, but you're wording is incorrect. All animal & animal/plant relationships are symbiotic, but there are 3 types of symbiosis: Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism. Mutualism is when both organisms benefit, Commensalism is when 1 benefits and the other is unaffected, and Parasitism is, well, 1 benefits and the other is harmed.

    • @ljb5163
      @ljb5163 5 років тому +1

      Pinky the Pink Slime I was about to say it’s symbiotic either way

    • @demidron.
      @demidron. 5 років тому +7

      It's symbiotic with the fungus, but it's parasitic on the trees

    • @DeathlordSlavik
      @DeathlordSlavik 5 років тому +8

      It is parasitic on the tree though as the fungus allows it to parasitize off tree roots, so basically it is a plant and fungus that work together to feed off trees.

      6:00 , the Roridula reducta it's a carnivorous plant ^^ ;)
      The 1st plant ( 0:04 ) it's a carnivorous plant ;) It's a Nepenthes lowii =D ^^ I love carnivorous plant =) ^^
      3:31 it's carnivorous plant, it's a Darlingtonia californica ;)
      7:52 it's carnivorous plant, it's Utricularia ;)
      9:19 Carnivorous plant ^^ it's Drosera capensis ;)
      10:00 it's carnivorous, it's Aldrovanda vesiculosa ;)
      That's all there is for carnivorous plants, and Roridula reducta is not really a REAL carnivorous plant ;)

    I’m in New Orleans, LA & we had touch me not plants & some bushes w/dark super shiny leaves with a pointy - & ridiculously stabby! - tip on them (can’t remember off hand what they were) in the garden along the front of our house growing up. I remember touching the leaves to see them close up all the time over the decade+ living there, especially whilst waiting for the school bus. They were cool little plants.

    I think the oddest normal tree is the coconut, which probably kills more men than any other tree, because ripe fruit can drop on your head without warning, and crack your head. The coolest carnivorous plant is Cobra Lilly, but nepenthes is a close second, since it is a pitcher plant with pitchers at the end of its leaves that hang out in the air with a rope like stem from the leaf tip turning up and forming the small pitcher.

    The 2nd one are common in my country. They grow everywhere. My front yard has lots of it. I used to play it when I was a kid but I get phobia after that. In my country it's called "pokok semalu".

    Perhaps the big lips plant should've been referred to the Mick Jagger plant!

    Jabuticabas are the fruit, the tree itself is called Jabuticabeira.
    This is a delicious fruit, by the way.
