They really are very similar. Reason is that both are manufactured by Huami - the company that Xiaomi use to design their Mi Bands.

Discovered the Amazfit band on Amazon. Went to order it the next day and it was no longer available. 😒 so i went with the mi band 5. Had the mi band 2 back in the day and really liked it.

No auto detection. If you need auto detection - check the Galaxy Fit 2.
I have the mi band 5, and there's the option to enable that feature. So when you're walking it will detect it and ask you to activate it.

You can control music, yeah. Photos - at the time I was filming the review were not part of the feature list.
As for the Mi Smart Scale - not sure about that...
Hello! I am curious, do you use SP02 monitor often? Or it is sort of a thing u use once and forget about it?
I use it often. If the saturation drops below 90%, might be indication for some health issues.
It's not very useful. Unless you have some sort of anaemia or any disease that affects O2 sats and need to track it closely it won't be much use to the average person. Even if you have health issues in that moment you eill most likely end up by a doctor who will habe advanced equipment to measure it. It's honestly just a gimmick for marketing.

Yeah, both of them can do that. The data will sync after you connect to the smartphone again.
You can think of getting a tracker with GPS inside for more accurate track info.

Hey Enni, thanks for the question. I haven't measured that, but I can confirm that my 8-year old sun wears this on the second button. So it can fit a really small wrist.

They are usable without the phone, but just temporarily. THink of these trackers as an extra accessory to your smartphone. It's the one managing them.
You can control the music player via them when there's bluetooth connection. They can detect if your HR goes beyond certain level. There's no way to get notification about getting out of rhythm.
Does the band on the Mi band 5 work on the Amazefit 5?

There is a slight size difference in the two watch faces and they are not the same shape (search for more detailed specs). It will fit the Mi Band "band," but it takes some force. I really wish Amazfit would have a different band option as the band is too large for me.

I am always with bluetooth earphones on, but when my phone rings i dont know who is calling, so I want the amazfit band, it can only show who is calling and turn it off... and the earphone can go on and accept the incoming call. So they mach and complet each other. 😍

Because I and my mother were sick on covid I bought Pulse oximeter for 38$ so Amazfit Band 5 is very cheap and Xiaomi Mi Band 5 can not compete at all even do not consider availability of microphone.

Honor band 5 has had Sp02 available for a long time now (over a year). and the sleep tracking is more accurate than Xiaomi / Amazfit

Depends on the country you are in. In mine Only 2 sites sell it and they are not the biggest ones, the "go to" sites people check out first bc they know they have good prices/deals and are a bit more trustworthy.
The links in the description are good, they still have the stock but on Amazon the shipping fee can be huge depending on where you live (in my case over 30% of the product price)
Ali takes a bit longer but it's MUCH better on the shipping price

NFC for these Chinese bands only works for Chinese payment and transport systems in China. Doesn't do anything at all outside China so not worth mentioning.

Depends. I use it all the time. For instance - lower SPO2 rates can indicate a health issue... One of the COVID-19 preventive measures is to often measure your SPO2.
Curious amazfit sensor are as accurate as Miband 5. Sensors. Cause I read a review from user of both band he said Amazfit are not as accurate compare to Miband 5 are both band having similar sensors

Huawei band 4 Pro has all that. But the NFC on Chinese bands only works in China for transport systems. Has always been the way. Wont do anything outside China

Nope. It's sending light flashes to measure oxygen and the other sensors are even less intrusive. It's sending Bluetooth radio signals but keep in mind that this is all powered by a very tiny battery there just isn't enough power to do any harm.
To make all these reviews I have a smart watch or tracker on my wrost 24/7 for the past 3-4 years. All looks good.
