If you get past the obligatory fanservice, even though the girls are downright gorgeous, the usage of mythological (Norse, Greek, Japanese, East Asian, etc.), and Judeo-Christian characters is very interesting. Basically, came for the hotness, stayed for the story.

Been waiting for Season 5 so long that I ran out of patience and decided to just read the Light Novel instead. And I must say, there are quite a few differences in the LN than the anime. Especially at the start when Rias resurrected Issei as a Devil, in the LN she actually has no idea that he's the Red Dragon ! Which is why I now hate the first few episodes of the anime for screwing her up by making her look like a manipulative betch, when in the LN she resurrected Issei out of kindness and not for the gauntlet. The only thing she noted is how Issei need all 8 pawn pieces to be resurrected and she decided to just gamble that Issei is actually a strong individual. It was during the fight with Raynare and after Issei fully awakens the gauntlet from Twice Critical to Boosted Gear that she finds out he's the Sekiryuutei. And why the hell am I typing all of this ? Damn, I must be bored and got too much free time.
I'm curious, is there also any difference on Rias's reason for resurrecting Asia in the LN? Because in the anime it felt like she only resurrected Asia because of her healing ability and how it could be a game changer for her team.

Granted, she does say that her healing abilities can be useful to the team when resurrecting Asia. So for Asia's case, it wasn't that much different in the LN.

Idk what you’re talking about, the plot is perfectly fine and the characters aren’t bad at all. The manga and light novels do add alot to them that the anime doesn’t as well. But I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions.

DxD is freaking fantastic, and although the third season is pretty bad, season 1, 2 and especially 4 are fucking amazing. And the music of every season is just amazing too.
