The only memory I have with Spawn, besides him ever-so exquisite in MK11, was the live-action movie of the anti-hero. Though the movie was limited by the 90s tech and CGI, it scared me when I was younger. Depictions of Hell can do that to a kid lol. But looking back, such a character, from a mercenary turned Ruler of the Rings of Hell, is something man. Sad I missed how Spawn came to be what he is back then. Still, great character though.

My grandfather passed away last year, and on the 14 hour drive to his funeral, I had my YT playlist blasting metal most of the way to keep me motivated and later awake, right about at the 6 hour mark this mix came on, and I had to pull over because of just how close it hit me. I was crying so hard I couldn't see, and that was the first time I'd cried in about three years.
I never had a good relationship with my grandfather. I didn't have one with him at all.

The animation by Todd McFarlane was the best thing I saw about Spawn (I hated the movie in 1997). He's such an awesome character and Mortal Kombat gave him some justice after so many years of hibernation.
