I had my own idea for an open world Star Wars RPG. You get to choose your race/species/creed or whatever, design your character and play the story however you want with your decisions affecting the outcome. You’ll be playing the story from the perspective of whichever “side” you choose, and you can replay the game and play it from a completely different perspective. You can freely travel to any planet you want, do whatever you want, establish a base, build and trade weapons and ships. There’ll be a full in game economy and thousands of items to collect and trade. You can find a companion - sentient or droid, have them travel with you everywhere. You could join the Jedi or the Manadlorians or just be an absolute rogue vigilante. You could sympathise with the empire and become a Sith Lord, whatever you want. That’s the game I want.

I personally don't care for games where you can create a character unless it's multiplayer, and this won't be. Created characters always feel generic in the story to some extent.

Imagine a bad batch game set after episode 3. You work with your squad like republic commandos. Upgrade and customize armor for your whole squad and switch between any member fluidly during gameplay and combat. It could be open world and use the third person to first person when aiming system like in ghost recon breakpoint. And can travel through the galaxy to different planets like the new jedi games. Dream game right there.

One thing I always loved in KOTOR (not so much in 2) was that you could actually create a Jedi (or Sith) who focused on blasters rather than lightsabers and become so skilled most enemies (even using the Force) couldn't block more than about 5% of your shots and couldn't block special shots.
Id bet good money this is not Kotor level quality. I doubt it's swotor quality.

Kotor blasters couldn't hold up to basic swords, let alone lightsabers. K2 was where blaster builds became viable.

It was epic! I played from Beta til the end. SWG: Legends is active!
It would have been cooler if they allowed us to create our own characters. Skyrim has replayability with creating different characters alone.

A huge step in the right direction with open world, but it would be even better if it was a sandbox game as well, with the freedom to do whatever you want, be whatever you want, make your own character, etc.

Looks fine for a "cinematic" game that will likely be like 10 hours with allot of QTE's, taking control from the player to make the story happen. I think they are fine for a 20 or 30 dollar experience. Back in the day they were a weekend rental. You were happy you spend 5 to 7 bucks to beat it on your day or days off and returned it. Thoughts days are over though and 70 bucks for anything you aren't gonna get a few hundred hours out of just aren't worth your cash.
Just remember folks, Ubisoft games are notorious for having 4x less detail than the trailers

@@puterboy2 well BX Commando Droids are canon, they're in the Clone Wars tv series and just recently appeared in Jedi: Survivor. Fyi in case you didn't know, standard Battle Droids are B1 droids, Super Battle Droids are B2 droids and Commando Droids are BX droids.

Its like if they took force awakes and just made bb-8 a cute looking alien instead of a cute looking android. Women protagonists dont bother me in the slightest. I currently only play Diablo 4 and every character ive made so far is a woman. Prior to that I played V-rising and my character in that, also a woman. Its probably just poor and unoriginal writing that bothers me so much, and it makes sense because I think the pet is featured so strongly in this because they know how uninteresting the main character is by herself.

This doesn't tell us much about the game though. I know it's just a reveal trailer, and it does have more substance than that Quantic Dream trailer for Eclipse a while back, but what's this game gonna be like? What unique take on open-world design does it bring? Is this just another Ubisoft Open World Game (tm) with a SW skin on it instead of Assassin's Creed or Far Cry?

They need a deep dive like Starfield, so we can get an idea of what to expect.
An open world Star Wars games sounds INCREDIBLE.
Starfield made a deepdive, and it was as shallow as a puddle come release.
Cinematics is something that we already know ubisoft is good at. We want the real thing, we want some gameplay. Otherwise, I'm not convinced

For years, I wanted a Star wars story like this. I always like Mission Vao from KOTOR and thought how cool it would be to have a another character like her. Don't get me wrong. Jedi and lightsabers are the meat and potatoes of the Star wars lore, but I like to see more of this universe.
Lightsabers, blasters, and ships are the meat carrot and potatoes of the Star Wars stew, but roguish background characters and city/ environment/ world hopping is the thickening broth that makes Star Wars Star Wars.

Star Wars galaxies, you could make a bounty hunter and pick up missions at terminals across multiple planets for credits. Man I miss that game

That was originally the plan.
How people don't just look at New Vegas and apply it as the benchmark for all open world games is beyond me. Customizable characters, decisions that meaningfully impacted the plot, karma system, level up system etc. etc. etc. I'm playing NV years later and am still finding new content that some of today's open world games don't have. The replayability is insane.
Exactly! This isn’t even remotely what I wanted out of an open world Star Wars game, I’m honestly pretty disappointed that it looks like there will be no character customization, and likely little to no choice in the story.
Ubisoft said that gamers should get comfortable with not owning games, Ubisoft should get comfortable not owning money.
Big mistake with the main character being a female you're stuck with.
If it's only for the story it is ok, but there should be an option to let the player switch to another character you can customize.
Your own created character in an Open World Star Wars game, that is what the fans want.
That would feel like you are in Star Wars yourself and create your own story.
I also always imagined a Star Wars Open Game to have a team made by your own customized characters just like the team from the originals Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Chewbacca and the droids.
And let this team have a starship like Millenium Falcon while they explore the galaxy and have their adventures. So a character customization where you choose race, job, male/female.
For example I want to create a team with a Chiss as a pilot, A human Jedi, a scoundrel who also is Arkanian, a Mandalorian, a Gamorrean as my heavy...together with an Ewok...A dancing Twi'lek, a Mon Calamari as my navigator and a Sniper Togruta, a Mechanic that is Zabrak and some droids...And give them all personalities you choose...And you can switch to any of the characters.
Just an idea....

I was hoping for a character creator. Play as different aliens and have buffs based on whatever alien you picked.
