    The way you had the rack tom attached to the rack looked pretty cool and unique. 🤙

    Cool! Great room of fun! The cables in my small home studio are kind of messy as well.
    Luckily I have a light switch!
    PS: maybe you could use a couple of extra snare drums 😛

    Greetings from the U.K. What a really interesting and useful video - many thanks. I think the final set up is great and a lot, lot tidier! I too (truly, clinically) suffer from OCD, so that was particularly helpful to me. I particularly liked the tip of reaching all the kit parts with your fingertips to measure the most comfortable distance for lengthy time spells on the throne. I've been feeling that I'm stretching too much, especially for the crash cymbals. Like you, I play just one rack tom and like a huge ride, as I use it a lot. I'm interested in why you go for the extra floor tom to your left as you sit (I'd love to try that too, but I haven't got the space in my compact studio - mainly because it's half pub / half studio and I won't sacrifice my bar! 'An Englishman needs ' ...... and all that!). Can I ask, did you originally do it to develop more sticking with both hands? or you really did feel you needed the extra tones? or mainly aesthetics? Also, is that a closed 'X' hat to your right? The kit seems unconventional in many respects but I really like it. I often feel the focus with many players is around more rack toms and double kick drums - certainly in the metal scene here in the UK. Anyways, thanks again for a great piece and I look forward to watching more.

      Thank you for watching the video and I'm glad it could help and I'm glad to see I'm not alone!! The extra floor tom to my left is actually because I'm left handed.. and I feel very comfortable going to my left. But as a child I was taught right handed drums. I've experimented and played both lefty and righty. So for me.. it's a comfort thing to have a tom on my left. Plus, it has a "cool" factor when i'm doing a tom build and both hands are out to myself hitting those toms! Both hi-hats are fully functional. The hat on my right is a remote hat. But I won't lie, 90% of my playing on it is primarily just for big open hihat rhythms and then i use the left hat for all closed and intricate patterns involving open/closed hat parts. I like the simplicity of the 1up and however down because it gets you comfortable and for any show if I decided to take away one or two floor toms the 1 up and 1 down still feels good. Versus lets say 3 rack toms and now i play a show with only 1... the change is significant. At least in my opinion it feels better.

    thats all good & done
    but i would use less cymbal stands & more attachments & booms.
    you can even get a stand that has 3x booms out from it.
    i would also use a snake for the mic inputs instead of seperate XLRs.

      yeah I just recently added an attachment for the China. I think some multiple arms arms would for sure be a great choice.

      Funny thing is last night I was sitting down there looking at some things and released I didn't clean/vacuum around where the kit used to be past the wrong. Sticking shaving everywhere still lol So had to bust the vacuum back out for that hahaha

    what did this even have to do with the title?? which was a serious search?????

    • @ZackZweifel
      @ZackZweifel  6 місяців тому

      I am sorry this title upset you but it is listed in the music section of youtube and I am a person of being diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. So for me, being out of place was a horrible sense inside driving my mind wild and crazy, this truly helped calm me personally and bring peace to myself inside. If you would like to choose a different title i will gladly rename it for you. This was not posted as a joke to OCD people.
