This looks like such down to earth, family restaurant type food. I'm great with fancy presentation and expensive ingredients, but a hearty satisfying meal like one of these is definitely a treat too.
Enjoyed the intro deviation with no food spoilers... I think it enhances the reveal of all these amazing dishes. In any case, great vid and thanks for all your hard work.
I watch these videos to help me fall asleep at night....i take a drink everytime he says "sooooo good" or "umami" and i'm passed out before the video is over.
You'll love it. If you get a chance to return then I'd highly recommend visiting in late November. The fall leaves are gorgeous. I wan't to return one day for cherry blossom season.
Mike I was wondering where you been it's been a while missing the daily dose of deliciousness glad to have you back and I hope you had a good New Year's (American New Year's)
Missed you mikey!! Belated happy birthday and Merry Christmas to you and your family and the lovely gf, and a brand new life full of blessings and happiness and adventures! God bless you and keep you and protect you and those you love and the fans and watchers of yours! 🎉🎉🙏🥳🎶😋☺️❤️Have a peaceful and healthier New Year 2023!! 🥳
Definitely saving this place on my Go To Places List in Japan. Already have planned to go to Japan in April for the sakuras and the food of course XD Also can't wait to try out Chuka-Soba Tomita Ramen.
I love bento boxes. We became addicted to them in the 1980s watching "Shogun", an elaborate samurai-themed TV series starring Richard Chamberlain. Our wealthy landlord, a retired Mitsubishi engineer who'd lived in Japan for years, made artsy bento boxes every night for favorite tenants he invited to watch the elaborate drama on his then-rare bigscreen color TV. Back in the day, that was a major treat.
When you are eating udon, I was thinking about making udon for lunch, and when you are eating yakisoba I started thinking about making yakisoba for lunch. LOL what should I eat?😅
Japanese food is just about my favorite cuisine. Especially tempura. Box lunches the best. Udon noodles I've never tried. Beautiful city Kyoto. Everything looks incredible edible.🔥🔥🔥🔥♥♥♥😋😋😎
I really hope you planned also visiting Fukuoka The birthplace of ramen and ichiran first restaurant. I was there two weeks ago Absolutely awesome experience 😃
There's nobody I'd rather watch eat udon noodles (unless I'm looking in a mirror). And these ones look so dang chewy and heavenly! Thanks as always Mike 🙏 Stoked to see Kyoto!
I trying a keto diet this year or at least for a few months but I love Asian and Japanese cuisine, which i cant have at the moment, so it was a blessing to eat with you today lol. Everything looks so good!
Are all trains in Japan those bullet train type trains or is that only long distance? I think that's so cool either way. I'd love to travel more by train in the US, but in my opinion it's pretty expensive for not that fast and not that nice. Could you say what the price of a train ticket is in Japan vs the US? Like is it comparative, more or less expensive? I'm curious. I don't know how the Japanese people view their trains, but I know they were revered at one time in the US because this country wouldn't be what it is without them, even if they're not as crucial or respected as they used to be
Hi Mikey awesome video I’ve been watching your videos for years have you ever done Chinese food video actually in china maybe show us food spots in your hometown in china?
I am mesmerized by the dancing bonito flakes

I learned to make Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima. The style is a little different than in Kyoto but both are amazing!!
I love how he says the word over and over basically teaching it to you, many people wouldn't remember if he said it once.
Yemekler güzelmiş keyifli
Been absent for so many days. Long to see your new vdo.

It's high. Especially for bullet trains. The cost is prohibitive enough to keep Japanese people from traveling more.
The food looks delicious.
As an American 🇺🇸 who doesn’t speak Japanese, I would retire in Kyoto❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Mikey awesome video I’ve been watching your videos for years have you ever done Chinese food video actually in china maybe show us food spots in your hometown in china?
He actually can't go back to China
@@xionglian4855 Cos of religious persecution and his outspokenness of CCP and their human rights abuses.
@@xionglian4855 yes it does he would be detained on arrival because of his religious practices and views there are many political prisoners in china
Not me thinking he dropped the F bomb 😅😂 I was S H O O K
When?
Nevermind, I saw others commenting on it. I heard it correctly the first time around, so I didn't know what you were talking about.
He said fluffy but did sound like the f bomb had to put substantial on
Once I heard it I was thinking the same, but it could definitely be heard both ways 😂
Nice quick vlog! I first visited Kyoto in 1970!
Wait did Mikey swear 0.50, lol?! I don't recall him ever doing that.
He said fluffy!!!!
Luv the videos, how come we never see your camera person

Bro tha was funny
He said, "It's so fluffy and creamy and good."
@@tempesttube I didn't say he didn't.... why...did u hear something different ?🤦♂️

0:49 Fluffy
Ok, I wasn't the only one, lol! I had to replay it a few times. Still hear the f word, 😆
