EWTN isn't the press you are thinking of. They weren't baiting him they just asked him what his thoughts were about the violence.
Strange how they're so damn quick to blame the guns and subsequently try to disarm the law abiding.
The reporter didn't blame guns. You can bet that the question and answer were, if not scripted, at least rehearsed.
100% on purpose. They did the same thing in Stalin's Russia. Turn a blind eye to criminals to put extra pressure on the law abiding so they're less able to resist. While brutally repressing them and selectively and brutally enforcing the law to curb "vigilantism".
@@timberry4709😂 yah sure
@@cianmoriarty7345Did the same thing under nazism too...
@@timberry4709 The reporter said "gun violence". He absolutely blames guns. Guns don't get up by them selves and shoot, a person is required. The problem is violence and an inability to handle differences and disagreements without resorting to it, either with fists, sticks or even guns.
The audacity of these people. Leave the border wide open and then they talk about gun control.
As if gun violence wasn't a problem before?.
Or releasing prisoners due to "supposed Covid safety" while seeking to ban law abiding people from having guns to protect themselves from criminals.
And that is why the "hUmAnItArIaN eMpAtHeTiC" platform that the Dems have been running on for the last decade has now cratered. Their hypocrisy is on display on a daily basis for all to see.

To be fair, this is EWTN. It’s a Catholic organization and so it’s not beyond the scope to ask about violence per se. I don’t really think the reporter was even trying to bait him into anything. I think he asked a legitimate question and didn’t load it with devious framing or phrasing. He also allowed his guest to answer fully without interjecting to insert the political stance du jour into it.
Yeah. Memology and the comments don't really know what's going on here. I'm pretty sure the reporter asked this knowing the response and wanting to get it out there. The players response is totally in line with the EWTN worldview. A little disappointing the audience here so dumb.
Thank you for saving me the time to point this out. Well done. Some people just want clicks and won't do research. This was not a question intended to "bait" anyone.
Seems more like a question to give a foundation for the reply rather than a 'gotcha' type liberal media ambush style interview.
Even if one wasn't aware of EWTN, it's very hard to miss the crucifix 8 seconds into the video. At the very least, you'd assume it was Christian.
Thanks for the context. Either way, fantastic answer by Butker.
Coming from EWTN I would imagine this is the exact answer they would have wanted or expected.
Yeah. The commenters and memology are off on the context of this one. Not a gotcha question. It was a lobbed softball.
Exactly. I think interviewer and butker see eye to eye on this.

Yeah they often ask questions like this just for the viewers. It is a news station after all. There was no gotcha aspect to it.

I think my favorite gag is how they always use a graduation photo because almost all other pics show exactly what type of person they actually are. It's like when they ask "gotcha" questions to the president but they are really just softballs so he can knock it out of the park.
You dont solve a person's behaviour by banning a tool, especially not by banning it from those who hold it legally and follow the law, which doesn't make any sense.

Nobody does their research here. EWTN is a traditional Catholic news agency, so somewhat along the lines of what you guys would call “based.”The reporter here clearly asked a leading question in order for Harrison Butker to answer the way he did. EWTN is so “based” that even Pope Francis has attacked the news organization.

It seems like our society as a whole is more violent. I think fatherlessness is a theme across wider society. I grew up in a rich community and many kids I’ve known were from single mother divorced homes. I work as ski patrol in Vail and I encounter way more young people getting into fights on the slopes than I used to.
Broken families in a nutshell. There's a reason why having both parents usually, keyword here being usually, raises more sensible adults. Couple that with the blind hysteria of political activists bleeding into every facet of life, from food, education, all the way down to entertainment.. Well, people just get angry and sick of it.
Don't blame society for the actions of a tiny percent of it, blame society for not doing anything about it.
im just more concerned that these psychopaths are in power who just want to abuse others in extremely roundabout ways like gun control, inclusivity policies or whatever else they come up with
Noooooooooo you cant just say that single mother households are the reason young men become devenerates!!! Its the inamimate object that does it!!! Noooooooooooo

Not only does this country need to get back to supporting two parent (man and woman, husband and wife) house holds, but also have more gun safety courses brought back to high schools and colleges. Stop making guns the enemy and making ignorance the culprit.
Courts profit off divorced families. It will never end. Especially now that they're actively trying to turn men into women, boys into girls.
The interviewer could of been setting him up so he could answer in the way he did. I would not assume he's a lefty due to this one question.
