Yeah, the fact that Taurus is under new management and getting their shit together made me give them a chance. Back when I was a cop 12 years ago, I wouldn't give them the time of day. Went to a gun show this weekend for a deal on a Glock and came home with the G3 for $270. 😂 Very impressive firearm.

Taurus has made substantial changes in their overall organization. They have a new CEO, have two new firearms that have been well received, and they are moving their manufacturing facilities to a new factory in Georgia. They produce a reliable feature rich pistol with their G2 and G3 pistols at an extremely budget friendly price. I am very impressed with the changes that Taurus has made.

Taurus has hit a home run with the G2/3 and TX-22 which I just purchased yesterday. Moving their manufacturing to Georgia with new management was a game changer for the company. At half the price of the Glock, there is no good reason to buy the Glock unless you are brand conscious. I see a lot of future innovations from Taurus, whereas Glock has pretty much defined themselves as a one trick pony.

I'm glad you said that! I had a Taurus G3C, and sold it like a idiot for a Ruger Max. I actually shoot my Gen 2 LCP Original better than the Max, so I traded it yesterday for the full-size G3. Without lubing it, I went directly to the range, and fired 100rds without any flaws. I actually like the way it holds and handles better than the Glock 19 I had. I noticed it's made in Georgia.

I've been a loyal berretta owner of the 92 series since 1986. Did some research on the taurus g2c and the th9 and went to my local gun store and walked out with the taurus g3. It came with 2 mec-gar magazines. Now time to look for a good light and holster. I still might go back and get a g2c as a backup. Thanks for your video. Very well done.

@ Q Trendsetter - not sure what lights you have. I've got the G3 & G3c, both w/ Olight Baldr S light/laser combos (I'm not going to buy a MIL-SPEC light that costs more than the gun). Ron at Center Mass Concealment Holsters made excellent custom light bearing holsters for me. He uses thicker kydex, and his holsters are flawless. As long as you don't have a completely no-name brand light, he can make you any type of light bearing holster.

Thank you for doing a non biased comparison of these 2 handguns. I understand that there are millions of Glock fans out there compared to us Taurus lovers and that is cool. Of these 2, I would buy the Taurus. Why?? Two major reasons. First one is that I have the G2C in 9 mm and love how comfortable it is when shooting. The 2nd reason is the pricing difference. That difference is big enough to me to allow me to buy ammo.

Agreed.. It seems as though some people go into it "TRYING" to find anything they can to discredit the Taurus. The fact that the Taurus can be compared side by side with a Glock and is comparable in most all ways, says it all, and OH YEAH!.....for 100s of dollars less. What makes any gun good is a gun that won't jam.... Other than that, if the bad guy still has time to think at all after being shot.... Do you think he's concerned with whether it was a Glock, Taurus, or a Norinco that put his ass on the cold hard slab? ...Or how many pounds of pull it took on the trigger to put him there?....

I had an issue with my Taurus G2c, trigger had a kind of catch in it that was driving me crazy. Everyone said that the G3 had a much smoother and more refined trigger and it definitely does. I was planning on sending the G2c back to Taurus but my local gunsmith said he could take care of the problem. So for $25 he did just that, and it's now as smooth as a babies bottom. Really happy with both firearms and spent less for two even with the repair, than I would have for one Glock 19. I have run 500 plus mixed rounds through the G2c with 1 FTE in the first 50. The G3 I have now run 300 mixed rounds through with zero issues. Taurus has a definite winner with the G3 and I think the G2c is a keeper also.

The company I work for sells guns also, and when I have sent guns to Taurus for various reasons, always got them back within a month or so, and had very nice customer service people to deal with. If you provide them with detailed information about the problem with a repair, my experience is they always address it, and get it fixed. I liked your review, you cover all the key points that folks want to know about. Many people on UA-cam are comparing the G series pistols with Glocks, and some wrongfully assume that because they cost less, they won't last as long. Jury is still out on that one. I was only really using mine for work due to it was a requirement but once I got home my g2c and 709s was my EDC.. love them way more than my glock 19 or 17.. loved them so much I went and got a spare of both and two of the g3c. Now that I'm retired, to tell you the truth my glocks really don't get used but maybe once in a while at the range.. but as for my 709s and g2c be used as EDC by me and my wife for years now with no problems at all.. since I've add the g3c to the collection, sometimes I carry it instead of the 709s but still find myself using the g2c more..

Taurus G3s takes Sig 226 mags just like the PT111 and G2Cs do also lifetime warranty not to mention double strike capability. Taurus is moving there HQ and Warranty Dept to Bainbridge Georgia which will be a plus in turn around time of getting firearm back if any issues arise.

    • @14GT5.0
      @14GT5.0 4 роки тому +1

@@slicksmokegaming9857 continuous trigger pull striking the primer with the firing pin on the bullet without having to engage the slide to put a bullet in the chamber. Some bullets especially those in mass quantities that are boxed together may have primer issues from clanking around against each along with quality control at the ammo plant not being very thorough on the product prior to being boxed and shipped. Double strike helps fire the projectile if that primer is salvageable to do so without dumping the bullet out as a loss or a dud

Damned good video and analysis. BTW, I had to return a big cylinder Judge 45 to Taurus once, as the gun had obviously been shot a LOT by some member in the supply chain, and then apparently switched into a 'new' box to be sold as a totally new weapon. Made one call to the dealer, he called the distributor, I then brought the gun in to his shop a few hours later, had a new, UNFIRED marvelously machined Judge in my hand in about 37 hours..... Only Taurus I ever had to return ( I did have a Rossi 92 lever gun, I had 'tuned up' to smooth the feed ramp and prevent damage to my thumb from loading thru the sharp edged side loading gate- the weapon itself , 357mag, has performed perfectly ever since, and my thumb is still with me LOL)

If my car gets broken into (it’s happened before & had a Kimber stolen, ouch!) & they happen to find it, my bank acct won’t hurt as much to replace it. My Glock 45, 9mm is my EDC & my Glock 23 is my nightstand centinel, I agree, once a Glock man, always a Glock man! Still Taurus pleasantly surprised me with their product at the range bought 2 more - definitely recommend these for people on a budget!

My wife a a friend of hers hated trying to shoot a pistol but with the MCK they love shooting it. On their first day shooting it the were consistly hitting 6" paper plates at just over thirty feet within 20 minutes. Also, it seemed to be easier for them to practice safety measures with the pistol in the MCK.

I had a Taurus 709 Slim with over 5,000 failure-free rounds. It ran everything my Glock 19 did. I also have the Taurus Spectrum which has over 2,500 rounds without failure. I love both, but recently replaced the 709 with a Glock 43X. I’ve also had some Taurus guns that didn’t pan out, i.e., the PT 22 and PT 738. The PT 22 made 3 warranty trips to Taurus that ended in them giving me a “free” G2 Millennium for the trouble. My PT 738 made 2 warranty trips, but never worked to where I’d carry it. With the Spectrum, no need for 738. Each of my warranty experiences with Taurus were 100% covered by them, but were 2-3 months each time. While the time is a negative, what they did was good.

    Great video, liked.
    A few things however:
1- measuring on the screen, the trigger reset for the Taurus looked shorter.
2- the idea of those rear sights being adjustable is debatable. Neither have a way to adjust the rear sight in any practical way. The PT-111 Gen2 did allow some adjustment with an allen key.
3-Something had to be said about the Glock non-ergonomic design. There is no usable undercut, the lack of a cut in front of the beaver tail makes the slide bite my high grip, and the box-grip shape is less than comfortable.

I'd like to see how these are doing in the future with some real good round count on them. After the constant frustrations and problems of my two g2's i have i probably won't buy a Taurus product until there's some serious testing into it. The g2's were a nightmare or mabey i just happened to get a bad batch but couldn't get a single mag through them without a malfunction after a 1,000 rounds of constant headachs. No matter the ammo / weather/ lubrication/ cleaning. Only after changing out the guide rod/ rod spring/ pin spring / smoothing and polishing the rails and feed ramp would they run well. After all the parts change out from lakeline the ran great 10k plus round on them and still run good. But can't see myself ever trusting my life to a Taurus after buying 2 identical guns with constant problems only fixed after changing out so much. Would love to see this gun excell where the g2 suffered. Can only hope for the best especially seeing the dirt cheep price of this gun.

I see nothing that indicates to me that a Glock is worth the price, especially since I could buy a second G3 for the price of a single Glock (in pre-pandemic value). I also have a Taurus G2c and G3, I have put thousands of rounds through the G2c with no issues and about 3000 rounds through the G3 also with no issues......because of this I sold my Glocks and pocketed that money for future firearm purchases. Bottom line Glock is a great overpriced gun, Taurus G2c and G3 are great lower priced guns. The only issues I have ever had with Glocks are they have a generic feel in my hand and never felt fully comfortable, kinda like someone giving you a soft handshake.

Glock took the gun and literally replaced all of the parts in the gun that the Glock tech thought needed changed and took the magazines that I had purchased in the sale and replace the springs and followers. He fired it to make sure it fit his specifications, cleaned the gun and brought it back to me while I waited in the waiting area. No Cost!!!The entire experience lasted about 45 min. I have been a Glock guy ever since.

Dave, I live in Atlanta, so I have experienced the same thing. Glock has fantastic customer service. I am now a factory certified Glock Armorer, so I do take care of my own firearms. I bought a police trade-in Glock 22, 40 cal, I got it in the mail, I took it straight to Glock, they went through it and totally rebuilt the firearm, including new magazines, didn't charge me a penny. On the other hand, I have owned Taurus firearms for years and love them also. Some people say they are junk, I have no idea what they are talking about, I have never had one misfire or problems with any of the guns. I would never be afraid to carry a Taurus with me for protection. I am seriously considering trying my luck with the G3, cannot believe how inexpensive they are and looks like very nice quality.

Nice review. I know people are loving the price point but for me it's about long term reliability and durability. The 300 you save to spend on ammo is a wash if you shoot high round counts to be a good shooter. How is the gun after more than a 1000 rounds? I have a Gen2 Glock 19 that I bought in 1993 that's been through several high round count training classes and 8k+ rounds I've put through it on my own range time. I knew I could trust my life and my family's lives to it. I've replaced recoil/extractor/striker springs after about 5000k rounds and the Trijicon sights in 2005 and 2016 when the tritium finally died. Those are wear items on any gun in addition to magazines. Which brings me to another point, aftermarket support. I got all those things quick and easy from Glockmeister or Brownells. Thats not counting a myriad of other sites with parts for sale. I can find holsters and magazines everywhere. Can Taurus do all that as well? If so, awesome, I might give one a try. When I first started shooting in the 80s Taurus had such a bad rep I'd love to see them redeemed the way Sig USA has done in the last few years, enough so that I finally retired my old 19 and am now using a Sig 365 XL and an M17 as a carry and house gun respectively.

I own the g2c and the G3 if you don't like them then you don't like them based solely on the fact that they had a different name than what you prefer these guns are remarkably good for the price

How many rounds had been fired with the glock vs the g3? I would guess the g3 is newer and the trigger might get smoother even still.

Hi there! I have a question. Can a Taurus G3 with a flashlight fit a Epoch Level 3 Light Bearing Duty Holster or any Glock holster?

The safety on the g3 is a no go for me. I have been carrying Glock for years and that’s what I am used to. The safety will only cause problems if you are used to not having one..

Dave Mathis you don’t have to use it, the triggers are almost identical. So if you’re used to the glock you’ll be just fine with the Taurus if you ignore it for a fraction of the price

I got a G3 about two years ago and something you didn't mention that I've noticed is the availability of aftermarket products. In the two years I have only found a handful of components and holster choices are limited... Just a suggestion to include possibilities of aftermarket support also. Did like the review. And even with the lack of aftermarket components and support I still love my G3

@@todddedrick8094 I know there is some aftermarket support, I have found some, not a lot but some, as for the barrel, laser and night sights you have added. The only thing I would want would be the sights. I don't like the polymer gen 1 sights and looking for new higher visible sights. and a holster that supports a mounted light.

Just left my local academy sports today and they had an ENTIRE wall of Holsters. Seriously about 15 different brands and designs. I actually picked up a molded holster and a sticky holster for mine.

Very happy with my G3c, 2k rounds with no issues. I bought it after research because it is affordable and I actually like having a real safety in addition to trigger safety. Customer service - last year (2022) had an issue with my Heritage revolver (now owned by Taurus). They sent shipping tag and had it back in 12 days, fixed. Equivalent service on a $175 pistol that I got from Springfield when my $1200 EMP had to go back out of the box. I think Taurus has upped their game.
