- RAVEN - On and On (Official Music Video) from the album "Stay Hard" (1985).
RAVEN are that rare thing in music, true originals - cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal - a more intense live band does not exist on this planet!
RAVEN released three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM era (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) inspiring every band of that time and beyond. Without RAVEN you just would not have thrash/speed metal… after all, the band did give Metallica and Anthrax their first tours!

Great 80s metal on and on stuck in my head forever 😊😊😊😊😊😊
There was so much brilliant Metal during this time period! The fact that I’m still uncovering bands to this day is absolutely amazing! Ironically, Prototype lead me here.
You ever listen to Lizzy Borden or D.A.D.? 2 of my favorite bands. Love this band 2.👌
@@MarkFreeman-kd2hzD.A.D is awesome
Remember helloween
Judas priest is still
State Theatre, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 1987 - W.A.S.P., Raven & Slayer...one of the best shows I ever seen. Still have that ticket stub somewhere along with some great memories!
this tour in toronto didnt have raven on the bill. great show
I love the band outfit, Athletic Rock rules!
No cap, I'm curious... What exactly IS Athletic Rock??
The soundtrack of my childhood.
Raven kick ass! Always have and always will! Staying hard still today in 2021!
Awesome piece of Heavy Metal history !
What an awesome, underrated, CATCHY AS HELL SONG!!! RAVEN JUST DOESN'T WRITE BAD MUSIC. this is one i wish i could've seen back in my parents awesome, best time for metal days!! 😢😅
My first experience of Raven was “Stay Hard” album. This one is super cool.
joeperry1226 thanks!
Same here
The first time I heard Raven was on Alan Robsons rock show in the North East, I have all the early albums on LP and later ones on CD. At the time i thought the Atlantic stuff a bit soft, but hearing it again, its bloody good.
Amazing 80. Years
Haven't heard this song since 1985 but remember it like I heard it yesterday. Good memories being a teenager in the 80s! 👍 👌 🤘
Holy shit I just randomly came across this and I finally have my answer to the question I had regarding an 80's metal band with the drummer wearing a hockey helmet. I thought I was losing my damn mind. I remember seeing this video on vh1 classic & metal mania.
Saw this played live at Graspop 2016, excellent show, loudest one of the day too.
That is a common theme I continue to hear about Raven. Through the years, I see ppl say they were the loudest band they've ever seen or loudest at the show. I'm 35, would've killed to be able to see this stuff LIVE back in the day. Lay The Law Down, Into The Jaws of Death, On and On, etc. Such a killer metal band! I love Raven!
@@JudasSlays2426 Yeah me too, I was 17 when I saw them, it sucks to be young and like older bands, you'll never see them in their prime and you'll eventually see all your favorite musicians die of old age.
@@R.LennartzBro, I BEEN knowing that feeling! I am 35 now, but, I swear it's like I should've been alive when my parents were... I am such a metalhead. I am literally praying to God that Raven will hit my city before this tour is up, or even come with a 2-3 hours of my city. I gotta see them ONE time before it's all said and done. Raven is seriously so badly underrated, it kinda pisses me off... Lol. They deserve way more respect than what they have ever received. Sanctuary is, per me, #1 most underrated metal band all time, which they were putting stuff out a year before I was born. I would have LOVED to seen them back in the day also. Annihilator is another majorly underrated metal band. I been a huge fan for many years, but it's not the same without Randy Rampage (RIP) on the vocals. They're hurting bad for a great vocalist...
@@R.Lennartz we are actually playing better than ever … check out a show sometime!
@@johngallagher7744 No doubt you've still got it, judging by the ferocity of your latest album.
Will see them at the Alcatraz festival August 2024.
This is a Great song ! I love the Atlantic years ! Sorry Neat....Ha ha ha...
Thanks, Pete!
@@Ravenbandofficial Thank YOU for all the great music !
🤘😎🤘🇮🇹on and on and on
One legend more. Piece Master song. 2024. I hear this band.
First time I saw raven was hit paraders heavy metal heroes on USA network night flight.. Man I'm datin myself old head
I (35) FCUKING DIG me some Raven, first time I ever heard them, my mind was LITERALLY BLOWN (First time I saw a video of them, was Live Revenge '88). I was instantly hooked! I ask my Dad (58) if he liked Raven, told him I love them. He tells me "I COULDN'T STAND RAVEN!" (I'm a metal maniac, so is Dad, but more into Rock/Classic Rock/Etc... I'm like dude R U FCUKING KIDDING ME?? I say Raven is so badly underrated, it's crazy...
My Dad tells me stories of when great music like this and other stuff first came out... About the very first time he heard Metallica on the radio (Ride the Lightning Album, probably For Whom The Bell Tolls). How he couldn't stand Metallica back then also. I'm like dude WHAT?!?! He tells about how back in the day, nobody had really heard metal like Metallica and such before, so when the first time or two he heard Metallica or any other Metal Great BACK IN THE DAY, that he didn't know how to process and take it all in, being new type of "extreme" heavy metal, so to speak.
I continue, for years now, to tell the cool ppl my parents age, that I am a spirit/soul that is your alls age, but trapped inside a person your Son's age.
Growing up during the late 70s, early 80s had to be freaking epic and amazing. There are SOOOO many concerts I would KILL to be able to go and see live back in the Hey Day. Concerts almost every week/end, very affordable, best time for metal in history. Now days, you have to pay some loot to get a halfway decent ticket to a good/great metal concert, and it's bullshit.
Ending my story:
I wish I could've seen those days, myself. To experience all the new first time stuff like that. To witness the 1st and 2nd waves of Thrash Metal, live. Man! I Always like to talk to the older crowd, i get along well with you all...
Radio didn't start playing Metallica until the black album I don't know what happened to quote hetfield the first and last video Metallica will ever do. You might know it as one
@@rushingbrouillette Well, Metallica didn't get HUGE radio play until Black Album. They did get played here and there, according to my Dad, and it was Ride The Lightning. That, says my Dad, was the FIRST Metallica he had ever heard (Bell Tolls, Fade to Black) on the radio, and he credits hearing that on the radio is what developed his love of Metallica.
Great! See you in Wacken guys 😍
💥See u at the Black Heart 🖤 next year!!
Who are the models in the video?
Not a clue.... but the 2nd one was dumb as a rock lol
@@Ravenbandofficialbut the first one you married!
Soy. Jahir. Canta. Raven no. And. On
¿VH1 Classic? Cuanta falta hace un canal de buen rock, todos los canales musicales actuales son una aberrante asquerosidad incluyendo obviamente a Vh1 y a MTV 😒😕✌🤘
Sounds too similar to Def Leppard’s High n Dry era
lol that Leppard album sounds nothing like this at all chief
Sounds like Keel
Such a good band, but their mgmt just ruined them. This silly makeup thing kills them.
It was a long, long time ago… and we did at least play it for laughs!!!!
Nah not at all it's funny and cool as hell
Don't vocals especially at the beginning of the song are beyond chalkboard irritating
Actually the vocals are terrible during every verse.... The chorus is just simple and lame but not as bad as the verses possibly because the other singers are also singing and covering up the screech of the horrid lead singer to some extent
Too bad!!
The “ horrid lead singer” ... me... did all the vocals pretty much on this... and they are “ terrible” .. why exactly? It’s a commercial rock song and it’s the hook.... if you don’t like it... bugger off !
@@Ravenbandofficial Get 'im John!
Why they making those goofy facial expressions
Because that’s what we do… as opposed to looking bored !
@@johngallagher7744 I always used to get a kick out of the extreme facial expressions during the guitar solo,it’s a moderate tempo offering.
Cause they were having fun man! You should try it sometime 😁
The guitar player looks like plastic bertram
Bertrand…. Get yer insults in order
