High Water | Snowy Mountains Solo Kayak Touring
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 лис 2022
- Phil Roy, who describes himself as having 'half an adventurous spirit', embarks on a five-week solo kayak journey. Phil's intention is to challenge himself by paddling from the top of Talbingo Dam, onto Blowering Dam, down the Tumut River towards the Murrumbidgee River where he hopes to finish on the Murray River at Boundary Bend.
The journey was made all the more challenging with the threat of high waters due to the major flooding impacting Australia's eastern states (November 2022). Unfortunately, Phil was unable to complete what he had set out to accomplish. 'High Water' reminds us that whether things do or don't go to plan, it is simply 'having a go' and embracing the unknown that makes a journey an adventure. This is just the start of Phil's solo kayak adventure.

Amazing…you are so much more than you think you are…but whoever is backing you up has sooo much love for you. Lucky you.
Great video, well done
You crazy diamond..... To quote, Pink Floyd.... I grew up in Tumbarumba.... Totally get it..... Brilliant video...
It’s unbelievable how close those views in the start of the trip resemble the lakes of the blue ridge mountains in the eastern US!!
Very nice 👍🏿
A hard call to make, but the right one. Beautifully shot and shows just how extreme this summer has been.
My friend this looks absolutely amazing, shots are truly spectacular and so well composed! 🔥🔥
Thank you! 💚
A mighty effort despite having to call it quits early. Those portages though… I’d call them treks ! Beautifully filmed too. The drone shots were gorgeous.
Definitely treks! Thanks for your kind words Graham!
This is a fantastic film. First time I see people kayak travel this way. Great work Phil. And where is the credit for this beautiful film?
Thanks Terry! All our videos are filmed and edited in house by our media team 😊
A dingo ate my beeebe!
wise decision to postpone the rest of the trip.
Ah bugger! So many have suffered the same fate this year in all the MDB rivers, but, as they say, the river will always be there. Little comfort when you have to cut an expedition short, but nonetheless it does prove true. My own Murrumbidgee paddle was cut short this year, yet to be completed... hopefully next year 🤞
Thanks Amy! It's definitely disappointing but good things come to those who wait, fingers crossed for next year!
