- A mystery quilt is where you pick out fabric and cut and sew according to the directions without actually knowing what the finished project will look like. You have to trust us that the pattern will work out! We tested this pattern at our spring retreat and had many who finished the quilt top and some of them even loved their quilt top! The pattern is tried and true and you will watch every step of my quilt top and learn some tips and tricks on the way. During the last clue you will see the finished quilt and a SECOND quilt we have made using Kansas Troubles fabrics! It is so pretty!
Join us every other Sunday for this mystery quilt! This is clue one of six different clues. The finished size of the quilt top is 54" x 54". You can obviously make it bigger if desired, I will share some options during the last clue to make it larger. I will also give you some ideas during the last clue if you want a rectangular versus square quilt top. Each clue will contain the cutting and piecing instructions for part of the quilt. Patterns are available in the files section of our Facebook group called The Quilted Forest Friends, which may be found at this link:

The full instructions are in the video, you can easily make the mystery by just watching the video, pausing, and following the instructions as you go. If you want to see some of our previous mystery quilt series to see what it's all about, here are links to those videos:

Love Mystery quilts. The first quilt I ever made was a mystery quilt.
Thanks for including all the other color choices. That's often the hardest part for me.
I agree, showing us different fabric combos is very helpful! Can’t wait to try this!
I do not know where you get the time to do all these tutorials for us very lucky quilters who live 10000s miles away from you. Another excellent tutorial. Thank you so much
I love boot boxes for projects like these. This sounds like fun!!
Yay, what a surprise; thank you! I love that you show color options and how to choose them! That is always so difficult for me.
I love your choice of fabric!
I use a shoe box to keep my parts for the quilt. Im so glad i read the comments on where to get the pdf.
Awesome! We also tell you in the video and the description where to get the pdf
This looks like it will be fun!
Thank you! I’m excited to do another project with you!
This one sounds like fun. I have followed along on the last two.
I bet this will be cute.
This will be fun
I wish it was printable somewhere other than Facebook. Some of us don’t use facebook
You could always pause on the pattern in the video and take screenshots. Or, we've had some people have a friend or relative who IS on Facebook print them out for them.
You are making it too complicated! I am out!
I love watching your videos. Always great ideas. Could you add a page on your website for the pattern instructions? It would really be helpful since I am not on Facebook.
Great color combo.
Looks like fun!
Great video.
I'm not on Facebook, but I would like to sew along. Is it possible to add a link of the instructions in the description of the video? If not, is there another way that I can access them? Thanks much.
I would encourage you to take a screenshot of the pattern when it appears. Another option if you want the actual pdf of the pattern is to see if you can get a friend or relative to get it for your from our Facebook Group called The Quilted Forest Friends. It's a free patterns and the only "cost" is to join the group, which is free, of course. We have chosen our group as the place where we keep most of the patterns we share on our channel. Happy Quilting!

Is there somewhere I could go & print out the instructions?
Yep. I talk about that in the video. We'll have each clue available as a free, downloadable pdf in the "Files" section of our Facebook GROUP called The Quilted Forest Friends (not on our main Facebook page). If you're not a Facebook user, never fear. Just take screenshots of the pattern when we display it in the video. Or, see if you can get a friend or relative to get it for you from our Facebook group. Happy Quilting.
Looking forward to this new mystery! How much extra fabric will I need to add if I want to make it 66"x78"?
I would just buy an extra yard of a couple of fabrics
Can the whole thing be scrappy (except the border), or is yardage required? I'm trying to use stash.
If you want it to be scrappy I would suggest choosing very distinct colors for each color category.
Can the pattern be printed .
Yes. It is available in the files section of our Facebook group called The Quilted Forest Friends
What is the finished size, sorry if I missed that.
More details are in the description of the video
I can't seem to find the pattern download link help please.
It's in the files section of our Facebook group called The Quilted Forest Friends. Not on our main Facebook page.
