- Doug Leko has been a pattern designer for his company, Antler Quilt Design, since he was a teenager! And since 2018, he has been a Fabric Representative for Moda Fabrics based out of Dallas, Texas. See his Sewing Studio and see how he's decorated his home with his quilted creations. We get to know Doug and learn about his two jobs- pattern designer and fabric representative. Have you ever wondered what a fabric representative does or how shop owners order fabric? Watch Doug show this shop owner the fabrics available to order. (Fabric appointment was filmed in 2022.) I'm glad I could finally get up to see his studio in Minnesota and finish this video! Enjoy!
You can find Doug's patterns at The Quilted Forest or your local quilt shop!

Happy Quilting!
Love Doug's studio. Lots of work space, well organized. The big windows let in great natural light and provide a great view. Wonderful quilts every where. Thanks to you both for the insights into your worlds.
Thanks for watching!
Love the industrial look of pipes and joints for the quilt rack!
Thank you, love Doug Leko patterns. Beautiful sewing space!
Wonderful to see Doug’s studio. Thanks Shelley for sharing this interview.
So many beautiful quilts and fabrics to touch and view, you lucky lady. I thought I was a freak, because I love to touch the fabrics. Fabric is candy for my eyes and my fingers. It satisfies a need in me. Because I was exposed to a virus this week (while working) I stayed home Saturday. It should be safe for me to go out after Tuesday (if I don't get sick). I don't want to give that virus to anyone. I didn't get to go to the quilt shop yesterday afternoon to visit with friends, and get my fix on new fabrics and projects. I'm feeling better today, so I may cut or sew.
Thanks❤
This was just wonderful to get to hear from Doug and see his beautiful home! Awesome work space! Thank you for sharing this.!!
TYFS yourself and Doug with us! So much respect for Doug’s patters and fabric lines! He’s just the perfect fabric rep!💕🧵
Love Dougs designs. I have new inspiration after watching this video. 😂🎉
Doug is such a nice man. I love his quilts and his sewing room, so many windows and lots of room.
Fun interview! I’m a big fan of Doug’s patterns. His designs are gorgeous and the construction is creative.
The 'sales' meeting was very interesting to see so much fabric; no wonder it is so hard to choose for your shop. Doug's studio is the envy if any quilter!
Those are beautiful quilts! Definitely a more masculine touch. There are many male quilters and they add so much to the hobby. I love that the quilts have so many fabrics in them. Definitely an interesting interview. I'm so jealous of the work space!!!!
Excellent black stars
What !!!! No peek at his stash fabric ? But a great interview .
wow that was so cool!! great place Doug :)
Thanks for the tour, Happy Belated Birthday, Doug!
Love your work, Doug. Thank you for sharing.
Wooooo que preciosidad te felicito por compartir, no hablo tu idioma pero veo tú obra de arte bendiciones 🙏🙏🙏
Doug's Simple Folded Corner Ruler (large) is a fantastic tool. It is one of the best marked 90 degree rulers out there. (I use the small CG folded clipper for my small projects, but he has a small ruler too). Fantastic interview with such a creative and talented person (and by such a creative and talented person).
great interview
I love that iron with huge water dispenser. I must find one! Beautiful sewing room with great quilts!
Thx for doing this interview, it was very interesting to see and get to know about Doug. I drool over his studio and those beautiful quilts. You have a new subscriber also
The quilts are stunning. It must be a dream job to work for Moda. Wonderful quilt studio layout.

I love that you guys are color coordinated with the home decor as well as the majority of the quilts!
Absolutely love your videos…..specially the unboxing of fabulous fabrics…..really look forward to them,(I get so excited,I just love fabrics…you always have so much more over there in America )I have a workroom at the bottom of my garden it’s fully insulated so I can use it all year round, I have had it now for 18 years and I so love it…..my 2 little grand daughters love being down there it’s hard to get them out…over here in the UK we don’t have lovely big basements like you do in AMERICA…keep the lovely videos coming…..thank you so much…..Barbara xx
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. This is the best video ever introducing Doug.
I am a huge Doug Leko fan and loved learning more about him and seeing his sewing studio! Thanks to both of you for giving us a peek into how fabric buying works. Also love The Quilted Forest! Recently moved to Iowa and didn't know where The Quilted Forest was until we stopped in while on a drive-about. I plan to go again whenever I can.
This was so interesting... to get the tour of his studio was my favorite part. Great guy. Incredibly talented.
Mash is my favorite background noise!
I love Doug!! I'm not a quilt shop owner but he can bring me fabrics anytime he wants 😂 I made his Stargazer quilt and it's gorgeous!
That would be such an ideal sewing space. ❤
Loved this video, Shelly. It was such a great idea!

Throughly enjoyed this video so much insight into his design process!
Wow, this is so nice!
3 & 4 am is not early, it is ungodly😂
How in the world do you pick and choose? I would want all of a line, I think. Or do you buy just what you want from every line? Just thinking of precuts…if someone wants more of a particular piece…if you didn’t buy the entire line, can you order a bolt later? Love his studio and patterns! Thanks Doug!
Doug sounds like such a wonderful person. I think I'd let him marry my daughter. LOL
Very enjoyable interview! I love Doug's patterns. After watching this video I purchased his Stashtastic 2 book. I want to make every one of the quilts in it!
I wonder what Doug does with all the leftovers that his quilt making must generate? That would be interesting to know as I can't believe that he would just hold on to it with all the new stuff coming through his door.
From Singapore how can l purchase one of your book thanks
I am curious who was ‘we’ and what was the name of the ‘store’?
