Good job on this video! Few people know of these dangerous missions and the brave men who executed them. You did this very good justice in only 10 minutes!
I went and visited the hydro plant at Vermork June 23rd 2019..i can tell you it was very humbling being there know what went on with these fellas..the sight of the plant from afar then crossing the bridge knowing the lads had to climb down then up....with all their kit, then press on and carry out their mission successfully was a fantastic achievement. Then down to Mœl where the ferries are moored, it is still exactly the same now as it was back then in 1943 minus the D/F Hydro of course, but her sister ship was there she was used in the film "Hero's Of Telemark" Probably the most important & successful commando raid ever...it stopped the Nazis in their tracks with them making the atom bomb!!
Wait battlefield 5 told me it was a 16yr old girl on skis did this single handed. They were trying to pass it off as a real historical story that little people new about. I cant believe all these men are trying to steal her thunder(sarcasm).
Sorry for a few mispronunciations and the lake name. It’s also hard to explain there story in the 10 minute requirement. Something I wish I had gone into more detail with was that the awaiting Grouse team went through very harsh conditions, eating moss to stay alive while waiting for the gunnerside team. Thank you guys for watching and appreciating what they had sacrificed.
One of the 200 liter barrels containing heavy water has been recovered from the wreck site of the "Hydro". I have a 5 ml glass container with heavy water from that drum.
Wow they didn't stop just kept going destroying all the heavy water until Germany said fuck it they will just destroy it again gave up on it those are some heroes I salute them
I tried to access the interview video from my bibliography however, the content is no longer there. Sorry about that. You can find other interviews off of BBC network and youtube under untold stories of WWII. IF you would like a copy of our bibliography you can send me your email.
@@gavin2434 thx :) i wanted to do a documentary kind of video about the fictional story in battlefield 5, where i analyse what is similar to the real events, and what is "fake" in the story. The game has been made very realistic, so i think it would be a new way to visualise how the saboteurs might have felt during the operation.
Cool, good luck on your documentary. The winter fortress by Neal Bascomb helped me quite a bit with my research along with Assault in Norway by Thomas Gallagher
RIP Joakim Reneberg
THANK YOU!

The last of those heroes, Joachim Holmboe Rønneberg, died in October 2018. (The guy speaking in coloured and the one that led the attack)

its also replicated as part of the training for the Special commando aswell.
Those men were brave. .may their souls RIP... The book, "The Winter Fortress " tells it all in detail
That was one of the books I used for research in creating this.

She was a 16 yr old commando ..Trained all her life.
(Also sarcasm)
🤣😂
What were dice thinking??!
Imagine how much better the real story would have been. A stealth mission to sneak into the heavy water plant and destroy the heavy water production
Who else is here because of Battlefield V
Lol ye
Yes
Lol 😂

@@Motmed all of the story relating to this in BF5 is bullshit xD
This video is a fake one. No men were in this mission, it was done by a girl and her mother. Its shown in Battlefield 5.
Please tell me you’re joking lol.
@@gabewebb_ Yes. 😆😆
