Not only that, but the '40th Street boat ramp' and a marina are directly behind the fisherman, with probably 100 boats there. Only a moron would buy waterfront property, when he hates fishermen. People see someone having a harmless good time and enjoying themselves but are so miserable that they take joy in dragging those people down to their level of misery.
I see these type videos and it seems it’s a northwest or northern state where this happens. I am 60 years old and live in the southeast and have fished all most my whole life. I have never had this problem whatsoever. We actually had a house on Chickamauga lake in Tennessee for years. If I wasn’t in my boat but crappie fishing off our dock I would have conversations with others fishing from their boat. Never a problem!
It wasn't always that way here. It's gotten bad in many ways about the last 20 years as more and more people moved in bringing their politics and views they were running away from. 😢
@raybaby I'm currently making a follow up video now. This will detail all the laws and codes that allow me to fish there. Including methods and information to help other fishermen identify aquatic plants which proves they are at or below the high water mark in fresh water. Some mention of salt water detail as well.
I live on a lake and no one gets mad when fishermen get close to their docks. Most come out and talk to you. If the homeowners are using the dock I don’t go near it,”sunbathing, swimming, fishing”. But everyone waves and appreciates it when you have respect. No homeowner/landowner should act like that.
This old fart has spent his life trying to get everything how he wants it and if something throws that off, he can't handle it. He's a fool. People out here are amazingly stupid.
If you can get to a waterway via a public way, or the water itself, you can be there and a private citizen can't stop you, even if the water is cutting through or adjacent to their land. That's how I've always understood it.
Thanks for the new fishing spot. Definitely going to fish Bill's dock. Is there not a law on maintenance? His dock and the vegetation seem out of control.
I own a house, it has a dock, I walk out every morning with my coffee and occasionally someone is close enough to talk. I always start with good morning and follow up with asking if they had any luck? Finish with.... have a nice day.
I love that area! I used to paddle my SUP around there and especially north of there. I have a question for you. When I’m paddling my board around people who are fishing how much clearance should I give them so I don’t disturb their fishing?
You know all people feel different about space. I suppose as a fisherman myself I stay 20-30 yards from other fisherman. Even some would complain. But I don't suspect a paddleboarder would bother me unless they got inside 10 yards a lot of times. Mostly to steer clear of lines that rise out of the water if a fish strikes as you are passing by. Then you can get tangled in the line. Also you want to avoid hooks in your body. I have had swimmers completely ignore the fact my hooks were within feet of them before. I figured after my warnings that if they got hooked I'd just scold them and cut my line if that happened again. Completely ignoring my repeated warnings
@@borbonic Thanks. I always stay clear of obvious things like lines in the water. I was thinking more of how my surface activity might chase away fish under the water. I think 20 yards is reasonable, even more in open water. The only time it gets to be a problem is when I might be coming into or moving away from shore where I don't have as much choice in my path.

Don’t know what state this is, but in Texas, the State of Texas owns all the public waters, salt and fresh. And the fish and wildlife are owned by the state. So if you’re wading or in a boat on public water, it’s not trespassing.
Would be interesting to find out if that dock he has is even legal because it's on the outlet of Coal Creek. Seems that waterway would or should remain natural. I looked at the map on google and you can see Coal Creek where it goes into Lake Washington, and I presume that dock is right on the north side of Coal Creek. And because the dock is not showing on Google maps again I can only presume the dock has been built recently. It would be interesting to find out.
Stand up to him, That dock may not be on his land. Read up on CFR 33 Title: PART 329 - DEFINITION OF NAVIGABLE WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES 11"(2) Ownership of a river or lake bed or of the lands between high and low water marks will vary according to state law; however, private ownership of the underlying lands has no bearing on the existence or extent of the dominant Federal jurisdiction over a navigable waterbody. Montana has great stream access laws. You can go on any river & stream as long as you stay below the high water mark. You can even access from below roads/bridges if there are no public fishing access areas.
Willamette River by us has what is called Green Way which is the 30 year high water mark. This area is public. Many land owners try to claim they own everything right into the water. A friend and I were in a canoe fishing bass in a arm of the Willamette River which is also under water during high water. Guy came out harassing us. We told him we are legally fishing the area because it is in the Green Way. He kept threatening to call police. We told him good we aren't going anywhere. Then tells us he owns the land below and the air above. My friend told him you must be God. He went and got an old Brownie camera that likely did nothing. We posed with our fishing gear still in the Canoe out in the water. When I got home I called the Oregon State Police. Officer told me they have been out there repeatedly telling the guy he can not threaten people to leave. I told him one of these days he is going to mess with the wrong people. Another friend did Duck Hunting in a slough of the Willamette River. Someone put in a Duck Club and claimed ownership of part of the slough. My friend was being harassed and brought a State Police officer with him hunting and they were getting shots over their heads. The officer got out on the duck club property and told the morons one more shot comes over us and I will be making arrests of everyone in here. The Duck Club claimed they did a land swap with the State of Oregon. That is illegal because no one owns the Green Way it is public access. He was going to court to fight it and died of Lung Cancer but friends said they will continue. Not sure what ever happened.
Sorry about losing your friend to cancer. He sounded like he was on the right side of life. It is unfortunate that humans are often so intolerant of others and the laws regarding access to public land and waterways. I figure those Duck Club guys would tolerate people fishing but too damn greedy to claim ownership of everything. Maybe they would be better off with PETA protestors or someone more like them 🙃

This crazy old man is actually violating RCW 77.15.210, for harassing a fisherman. He'll keep doing it, until he faces consequences. Which is why you should call the game warden, and get it on the official record.
There are two kinds of jews, this is the type Germany was talking about. He gives a bad name to a few good people. I would see if he pulled a permit to put all that garbage in the water to extend his property. I am guessing he did not since he attempted to make it somewhat natural. It will be a danger to those boats and anything downstream when it gets washed away.
I would simply tell him that nature, hunting and fishing is for every resident of the state to enjoy. If it’s a public lake, he does not own the fish inside of it. Every one does.
I'll probably make a breakdown video of the regulations and laws that permit me to fish in front of his walking deck to inform others. This guy is simply territorial. He even complained to UA-cam in order to get my video removed. Prior to me turning on the camera he was getting extremely testy. As soon as I informed him that he was being filmed he backed off slightly. This guy was just trying to pester me to go away. It turns out he's a well known local banker and attorney. Imfamous for losing millions of dollars in client investments.
I’m sooooo damn sick of watching these rich people bully people out of using lakes , rivers and beaches .. In parts of Florida the people that live in some towns can’t even access the beach because the towns and cities sold it to the rich people who bought the million dollar houses to rent ! You should never be able to own any section of the beach especially if one penny of tax dollars went into beach replenishment .. this is seriously getting out of control ..
In Washington State, you pay taxes on the size of your lot and the structures on it. Why would people with the means to challenge the county, pay taxes on land underwater in the lake? The property line should stop at the shore, I would think.
Generally speaking, you're allowed to fish a public lake or river up to the high water line, regardless of any so-called 'property'. There might be some states with exceptions.
