I'm a 767 first officer for a cargo airline and also work as a part time OTR/regional driver for a local company. I'm lucky to have been able to do both for a living, which is the fulfillment of my childhood dream.
Great video, and beautiful Pete! I’m also a pilot, who has driven truck. I was laid off last year due to the pandemic, and got into trucking. I’m back in the air now, but loved every minute of trucking. When I was going through training(747) at my new airline, one of the instructors made a comment about how none of us had operated anything with 18 wheels before. I raised my hand, and said, “well actually…” lol.
Small world! I’m also a pilot, ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI with 6 jet Type Ratings. I also hold my CDL-A. I spent 25 years flying corporate jets all over the world and after retiring from that, I decided I couldn’t fish every day so back in a truck! Sweet truck in the video and the dude is cool!

This guy is a clear example of you can do anything. A pilot and truck driver which is tough. He is an inspiration and a great example of someone that can be emulated.
This guy is my twin. Same story. Pilot and truck driver since a kid. I am a commercial pilot currently and will start a new career driving tankers this January! So excited!
Wow, alls I wanted to do was drive tractors and fly planes too! When I was a little girl I went to work with my grandfather, the supervisor for the roadbuilding department in Orange county in the 1940s -1960s. While other girls played with dolls, I was pushing trucks around in the dirt. The closest I got to trucks was I owned a remanufacturing shop for Detroit injectors.I hope its never too late to live a life of what you dream of!
I’m an OTR trucker and Commercial pilot job hunting to get those hours for the regionals. Glad to see other Pilot/truckers out there! Some people look at me funny when I tell them I drive truck, but they will never understand. I think we ultimately just like to operate machines!
Talk about free spirit!!!!. Guy is truly living life to the fullest extent possible. 2 of the most care free/most responsible jobs one can have and mister is in both.
Man that guy is my hero took the limits off of life and threw it in the trash got a love this dude! It’s like being a doctor and a lawyer this is a bad man
This is exactly the life I’m trying to live!! Right now I’ve been driving a straight truck for almost 3 years, for the past 2 years I’ve been contemplating about becoming a pilot and for the last year or so I’ve been thinking about getting into an 18 wheeler. I’ve recently bought a house and am just waiting on getting stabilized first before I pull the trigger and finally start doing either one or the other before getting both licenses!!
Aldo,Your a truck driver more than this clown. I’m retired 37 years in a big truck. There weren’t schools on every corner when I started. I started driving small wreckers. I went to big wreckers then Tractor-trailers. Get your experience in all kinds of weather and terrain then move up. If you decide to fly planes, fly planes. This guy is taking loads out of real truck drivers mouths. I have more respect for you working your way up than this I’ll say clown. Working trucks don’t have chrome fifth wheels. Believe me.
Love to hear people's childhood stories of how they knew what they wanted to be when they grew up, I still dont know😶. This was great. Seems like a nice guy that always knew what he wanted. Nice job Asian Mai👍
He definitely understands a few things. One, weather on the ground sucks as bad as it does in the air. Two, he understands the hurry up and wait game on both sides, lol! Sweet truck. More rules in aviation though!
You are my hero, I owned a trucking company and I am an A&P now. I always wanted to be a pilot but never got there. Like you I want to drive my entire life and fly.
This is my goal to become a pilot after I finish trucking school and gain 2 years road experience. To know every single mechanic by name is amazing and shows a lot about how much passion he has for his craft 💪🏾
Wish there was still people out there like this fella met many years ago and said here try and figure it out!! Nowadays nobody wants to help a person achieve their goals by just giving an opportunity.
This guy is amazing. I didn't think there were anyone else that wanted both paths! I'm a student pilot, but I plan on getting my CDL after all of my flight certificates. This is perfect!
There's alot of us out there! I am flying citation jets for my career, but this January I am switching to driving tankers trucks and will flight instruct to stay current.
Good for him. I'm a private pilot, I flew some back in the winter. Recreational flying has just become so expensive, and trucking pay is not keeping up with inflation. I had kinda decided I need to give up flying so I can retire someday.
What did Ryan Derrickson do with his 1999 Peterbilt 379 with the 3406E Caterpillar, now that was certainly another good example of Ryan's passion for trucking "Big Car USA" 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 ??? Greetings and Kind Regards from Downunder Australia 🇦🇺 AJ
Not real sure where to begin with this!!! I to have had my dream come true with what I wanted to do in life. I grew up on a farm and started driving tractors from the age of 6 and still do at times but i always wanted to run heavy equipment and when I got out of school I started my career in running equipment that lasted 40 years. then I've also loved to drive and I started driving a semi and I have drove a truck for the last 15 years. And this last January I finally retired still have my licence and keep my health card up. But it's really be a great life. The only thing I regret is that I never got to own my own truck I have always drove for a company. God Bless and stay safe out there.
I love American trucks with lots of room and comfort for the driver, been from Europe our Trucks, it's like been stuck in a small can for weeks on end. Keep up the good work

I'm glad I found your channel, keep up the good work! Quality content, always inspirational... Just got my CDL-A permit yesterday. I've been making connections in the industry from just introducing myself to local drivers/OO and asking questions. I've found someone willing to give me a chance to prove myself with some seat time. Hoping to take my driving test without a school. Baby steps to success! Your interviews show that hard work pays, I appreciate the motivation.
