Sure hate to see the guys day come to end like that. However, he saw how quick everyone pitched in to help and thats part of what makes riding motorcycles so great…the riders.
Yup. Every group ride I’ve been on whether it’s a down bike, flat tire riders help out. Couldn’t agree more on the helpfulness of the biking community.
I didn't realize anybody had a camera that day. That was me on the Versys-x 300. I live in the area and had ridden most of those roads. I had never been down that road. I learned a lesson that day. Don't ride fast on a road you are unfamiliar wtih. I was going around 40-45 mph when I saw the curve. I think I got it down to 10-15 mph when I went down. I thought I had made it and then the front wheel slid out from under me. I had to get on both brakes to slow it down and I'm not sure if it locked up or just slid on the rocks. It knocked the wind out of me for about 10 seconds. I had on all my gear and didn't have a scratch on me, therefore reaffirming my belief that you should always wear your safety gear at all times when riding a motorcycle. It cost me around $550 to fix the bike. I've been riding it and it rides fine. Those guys were really nice to me. I actually felt bad for everyone having to stop and slowing them down. I think I apologized a few times for messing up the ride. They made sure that I was ok and that the bike could make it 11 miles back to the house.
It’s good he was not hurt, looks like a nasty spill!
