Joe Beef is awesome. We were lucky enough to get a reservation at the bar twice, when we were there. Everything was so fresh. I love the vibe of the place.
I got a reservation 3 months in advance a few years ago. I had a the veal tartare, duck hearts, a massive steak with bone marrow and my wife got the lobster spaghetti. It was an unforgettable experience.
Couldn’t get into joes beef on two trips to Montreal…..got into their restaurant next door and still had one of my favorite meals of all time. A lamb neck covered in pelminis and onions. And tartare served in the middle of a hollowed out grilled cheese.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had was at the sister restaurant next door cuz I couldn’t get a seat. Oysters, followed by a croque madam with a hole in the middle filled with steak tartare. Main course, a Jurassic looking lambs neck smothered with pelminis and kraut or onions or something.
Just a quick FYI, it'd pronounced Mun-treal now Mawn-treal.... also I've been to Dave McMillan's restaurant when he was working at either leblanc or the globe (can't remember)... hands down the best ribs I've had.. I don't even know why they gave us knives, they just melted
I stay away from the restaurants that have become caricatures of their original self. It’s more of a theme restaurant now in the vein of Guy Fieri’s Time Square place or all of Gordon Ramsay’s Las Vegas crap!
@@jas_bataille there's over 8000 restaurant in montreal believe me it's overrated, there's a restaurant not far from there and it's not as expensive but there's a terrace outside and part of it you have to sit on a 2x6 piece of wood and the bill average is around 100 dollars, humans don't see the absurdity of what trendy can make you do.
Yup, those two bloated chefs turn my stomach. There used to be much better places to eat in Montreal, these types of over-the-top places like Joe Beef are nauseating and not fine dining of any type. I still miss the Piemontais.

Joe Beef is an amazing restaurant . i am lucky to live in Montreal and have been to that restaurant a number of times ! delicious ! have great day and sorry for the snarkyness !

I’m honoured to say one of my best friends growing up is chef de cuisine at this restaurant, super proud of him

It's a very good steak house no doubt but the place it's way to small,to pay that price and feeling like a sardine in a can no thank you.
You have to reserve 3 months in advance for a reason, they have limited seating. Bruh

Tell those owners NEVER TO KNOCK NEW YORK!!!
looks like piles of slimy slop ......but to each their own
So overrated! There are so many better restaurants in Montreal....even at much lower prices.
From Montreal, it's waaay overrated
You can get better food for much less literally 15 minutes away....#DontBelieveTheHype

Whats legendary about it , its not even 20 yrs old .
The video helps explain why it’s such a legendary establishment, and its tavern predecessor from the 19th century..
