dude, I am so glad I found your video. I was getting ready to pull the carburetor and rebuild it. This was the problem, this mower hadn’t been started for over a year and it kicked over on the first crank. Once I move that choke all the way closed.

It's also frequent that these do come from the factory with the screw tight, but mis-adjusted on the cable length. You can check by watching which lever that cable rotates right on the carb, then see if you can push it farther than the cable can. If so loosen that screw and shove the cable over towards the carb then retighten. When it comes from the factory misadjusted, the engine is so new-perfect for the first season that it doesn't even need the choke, so you don't notice the flaw until the second season.

I have the same exact mower and mine only starts when I spray gas directly into the mower carb on cold starts. After it starts, it has no problem starting again till it gets cold. I will check this out. I was just about to buy a carb bc I just cleaned this one. It fixed my problem and now my mower runs like a top 1351 hours

People are surprised when i say this but my john deere e110 has q
1000 hours it is very well maintained and just today ive had to replace the belt because i was pushing its limits 😅 but every other time i mow it gets grease every 10 to 15 hours it gets a full service blades to oil and it runs like a dream never had a single issue besides some common ones like it just laying grass over but that seems common for nearly all john deere mowers

    • @RodneySizemore-uf4yu

Why are you changing the blades so often??? 10 to 15hrs that's on average 10 to 15 mows, unless your blades are warped, bent or broken there is no immediate need to change them, you can resharpen blades for years and years especially if you have a decent little bench grinder, blades are not cheap especially if your mower uses multiple blade to cut with, you should be able to on average under normal operating conditions have your blades last for 3 to 5yrs or more, only time I've ever changed blades is if I hit something that damaged them or they broke or simply wore enough where the edges or tips of those blades were wore enough they started leaving uncut grass in between them, I service, rebuild, and fix all things small engines, been doing it since I was 8yrs old with my old man, I'm 39yrs old now, please stop wasting your money changing blades that often when not necessary unless actually wore out, damaged or broke, I literally charge 15bucks for me to do a sharpening and servicing of the blades at my shop, that's a flat rate no matter how many blades are on the deck, you can't bring me 20 blades lol, only valid with the amount of blades the mower deck requires stock form, and yes I've had to explain that a couple times to some customers lmao...

This is NOT a rare issue with these. They very commonly come misadjusted from the factory and need the cable slid over a bit before you retighten that screw. I bought a $2000 machine for $500 because the owner didn't know of this 30 second fix.

I could use parts off that engine for my 40h777 craftsman/Briggs engine. So now i gotta put another cable on it i attached a cable to the top of the carburetor but nothing at the bottom
Im using used parts off my other junk mowers so it might look like shit on the outside but all functions the right way its not new like yours you probably paid around 3 thousand something for yours
I just bought the 40h777 used the guys friend said the engine was blown up but its not i think he'd be upset if he heard it idling smooth again it didn't for him because he had vehicle plugs in it and had a few air gaps and no ignition switch or wire harness no diode or rectifier. I paid $40 for my engine

Gday I live in Australia and sometimes find it hard to find a Slasher that can climb 10 to 15 degree hill. The problem I’ve had is the oil pump being capable of operating the oil just as efficiently as driving on flat land. I’m interested in a Huski that can operate the oil pump going up and down. Any recommendations would be beautiful. I have only 2 acres but it’s enough to require a decent machine for around $4’000.00 US OR A LITTLE OVER $5’500-$6’000.00 Australian. Cheers folks. All Huskies can be purchased in RUAL Australia no problem. It’s getting the right advice that is 95% always an issue. Sales people trying to flog off that pile junk model no body will buy. Cheers again. And THANK YOU to anyone for your valuable advice.👍🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🇨🇦🫡
