Do you know if the wiring is there for electric seats in a non-electric seat car? As in, if you take your non-electric seats out and replace with electric leather seats, is there a plug for that already existing in a non-electric seat car?
John, I just bought 16 Civic and previous owner cut both driver and passenger seat yellow connectors wires. Both wires have the same light blue color. Can you please tell me which wire goes to pin1 and which one go to pin2. I measured one of the wire to ground = 5. John and other is open.
I'm going to guess and say your system will not detect the airbag system and the sensors on the passenger seat. May have some error lights going on but you'll know it's because you removed some safety features.
I have a question for you. Can the original fk8 racing chair be transferred to FK7? Are the screw hole positions and electrical plugs the same? Thanks⋯⋯
Mine has electric seats. Is the process pretty much the same? I have to replace the belt buckle but can’t find any other videos on how to do it so I think I’ll just have to take the seat out and figure it out.
Hey did you unplug the battery or did you go straight away to removing? Im trying to switch out stock seats to buckets and I dont want to continue connecting and disconnecting the batter to check if my ohms connection is correct
Thank You very much!! Perfect!! Short, sweet, to the point. Thank You for making this task so easy for me!! I can't wait to see more of your videos!! 🥳🥳
you make everything soooo simple. love the content john!
Handy shit, thank you sir 👌👌
And watched again for a refresher 👍 thank you sir
i bought an impact drill and was still tight. New torque bit and everything
thanks for video, can u name tools that u used here?and even link to amazon would be great, thanks
Can you list all the tools needed ? I would like to take the cushion and cover out to wash it
You'll need a T50 Torx, Ratchet, Extension, Small flathead screwdriver.
Super helpful! Thank you!

I did not see any extra connections when I was taking this apart. Most likely no. May need a different harness.
Nice video really straight forward
Do I need to disconnect the battery before removal?
For safe measures, yes. I didn't disconnect it though. Made sure car was off and careful with the removal.
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 Thanks!
Thanks for this video John!
can u just cut the zip tie?
Ooohhh look at mr moneybags over here who can afford replacement zip ties

To be honest I'm not sure. I'd have to get my hands on some schematics.
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 thanks
Do you know if there would be any problems with leaving the seat out for extended periods of time?
I'm going to guess and say your system will not detect the airbag system and the sensors on the passenger seat. May have some error lights going on but you'll know it's because you removed some safety features.
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377Cool, thanks! But the driver's side airbags would still work, right?
@@myke232 that's correct. Your system might just detect a missing passenger side.
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 thanks!
Those zip ties are giving me the hardest time 😭
Thank you this is so helpful

I don't have the answer to your question.
Thank you for sharing

Should be exactly the same. You'll just have more wires to remove underneath the seat.
Do you have a link on where I might be able to get new stock car seats? The internet keeps giving me different seats than the stock
Can you reuse the same seat bolt. Its puĺling teeth to get an answrr on what bolt mine is
You can reuse the seat bolts unless if you stripped the T50 torx pattern.
good job
Thanks Greg video. I do have the SRS Airbag light on now, do you know what I should do to correct this? Do you think it’s unsafe?
Is the seat removed? The light usually means your system doesn't detect an airbag or it could be turned off.
Thank you so much 🙏

Just make sure the car is not on. I was able to do this with the battery still connected.
Did you have any trouble with the airbags?
Best practice is to disconnect battery negative terminal.
No I didn't. Just make sure the car is off.
Are you ever going to do a review on your sound system?
Not yet. Going to build a box first. I'll include a before (prefab box) and after (custom box).
Hey why is my torx bolt is really tight. Extremely tight, it keep slipping with the bolt not moving at all
Hope you're using a T50 tip or the head of your bolt or tool tip is stripped.
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 i used t50 torx tip. But it seems that it is really2 tight. Do i need a longer handle for more “torque”
@@EriqHover longer handle will make your life easier to remove and install. If the bolt or your tool is already messed up then that changes things
@@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 thanks man. Probably need to bring my car to an auto shop
@@EriqHover That sucks. Hope it works out for you.

For good practice, yeas remove the negative battery terminal.
