Really appreciate your time in reviewing all of this gear. I just bought the Huntworth Elkins set based on your comparison to the Sitka Stratus line for milder weather. Then this comes along! It would be helpful for those of us trying to make a decision to have these grouped together similar to that Elkins/Stratus video comparing the different manufacturers and their pricing, warranty, climate comparisons, etc. I think the Huntworth is still the best value proposition by far with their 40% sales, but cost isn’t everything. You want to be sure to make the right decision and not end up wishing you had purchased something else shivering out in the woods. Thanks for your time putting these together.
One thing you could add to the videos maybe for information if you can get it from the manufacturers is exactly what material materials stuff is made out of. Is it all polyester? Is there some cotton is there some wool and if so, what percentage of each is in them? I don’t know about everybody else, but I’m the type of guy that likes to hear all the little nitty-gritty facts about everything before I buy something I do as much research as I can a lot of the time I even contacted manufacturer and ask questions.
I got a request I’d like to ask of you. I’ve been trying to find the warmest base layer there is out there. It doesn’t have to be sold by a hunting company. I found a couple of other companies that claim to make 400, 500, or 600g merino base layers. But I have no clue if any of them are worth it. My new reason for this is because when I went hunting last weekend with my cousin, I had the Sitka merino 330 and he had the First Lite 350 and his were way thicker and seemed much warmer than mine. I’m a little bit when it comes to the cold so I pay for the best to stay warm. So now I’m thinking about buying some of these other base layers I see just to check them out and see if they are warmer.
I have a set of 400 merino that I got off Amazon and they are pretty darn warm. I haven’t tried anything higher than that. Meriwool pants: amzn.to/4f8t02k Meriwool top: amzn.to/3Vlg3Le This season I tested the Pnuma IconX next to skin heated baselayer vest and it worked great. So that is always an option too.
Good review. I picked up the Vintis jacket a few weeks ago. I really like it, but I do have a couple negatives about it. I'm a taller person, and the sleeves seem to fit nice, but the inner cuffs in the sleeves are way to far up the sleeve for me. Also, I have big hands, and the pocket openings are quite small. I have other jacket that the pocket openings are 2 inches longer than these. Once I got my hands in the pockets, there is barely enough room for my hand, and not enough for gloves and/or a wrist release for bow hunting. It seems like they made a larger jacket, but didn't make the pockets larger for the larger people. That being said, I still really like the jacket. I cut the cuffs out of the sleeves, and bought a nice hand muff.
@@davidstaron4302 it’s warmer than the Asio mid weight Sherpa jacket. I’m getting ready to test their Highpoint jacket against the Asio late season and Sitka Fanatic jackets because of it.
Do you have any plans to check out the code of silence lineup? I’ve been very intrigued by their offerings but there is little to no reviews out there.

I get asked this a lot. I need to do that. I’ll try to get one done soon. Thanks!

I actually said that to myself yesterday because I done it in the past and one of my new yet to be released videos I went over it. Good call. Thanks.

I can see that being an issue for larger people with it. Luckily for me that stuff wasn’t an issue. Thanks!
This thing looks awesome. How would you compare its warmth to the mid weight sherpa jacket from Asio?

I want to, but haven’t had a chance to really look at their stuff yet.
