Dry Rot on wall-Neil Marsden Snr-PCA Independent Damp & Timber Surveyor

During a survey last week, I came across an outbreak of dry rot in the sub-floor void and I thought it was an ideal opportunity to explain a little about how dry rot reacts to a change in its environment. In this instance, the client had installed mechanical ventilation in the sub-floor void and the dry rot reacted to the change in air movement by producing a significant number of fruiting bodies.
