Whoa. Wait you set the CG with the retracts down?. Won't that make her tail heavy when they go up?. I used the lightest weight wheels and tires I could find and my Corsair shifts Soo much when my retracts go up
Great job on this Corsair man! Next time buy fishing weights. Cheaper then destroying ammo. Plus ammo, is not cheap! It is ultimately up to you though.
Always better to add weight to firewall. When added to the cowl it ends up being a large weight forward of the fastening point of the cowl. Motor vibrations will cause this weight to vibrate the cowl with more force than an unweighted cowl which results in movement at the screws at attachment point and it will wear the fiberglass around the screw resulting in the screw holes getting bigger and bigger and the cowl moving more and more. You won't know it's happening until it becomes obvious and needs repairs. Just been my experience, but I've seen it in others planes as well as mine. I no longer add weight to cowls only to the airframe.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Fortunately with this plane there is an attachment former system so nothing is going through the cowl. I was definitely Leery about the suggestion in the manual to add the weight to the Cowl. all in all I added probably 15-20% of the weight that I could have to the cowl. I wouldn't have felt comfortable adding more.
Steel is not heavier than lead, this is very poor advice that I hope you haven't been following yourself. A simple Google search will confirm this and yields the following results:Steel is less dense than lead. The pellets weigh one-third less than lead pellets of the same size. Steel retains less energy and may not kill birds cleanly at the same ranges. ... Compensate for the lighter weight by using a shot one or two sizes larger than the lead shot size. This is easily verified. That info is a direct cut and paste from Google.
I think every corsair I've had, from 900mm wingspan to 60 inch wingspan has required nose weight, even when using a larger motor than recommended. The bigger they were the more weight they needed. I was shocked by the amount the largest one needed, but it was correct and flew fantastic.
Thanks 😊. We will see how it flies. If it flies decent than he will probably sticks with what it has. If it’s lame than I’m sure he might go the bigger engine route.
Billy Knight I actually got it as partial payment for weathering a plane but I believe they sell for about $300 USD. It also has the ability to do surface matching of angles if you get the attachments that read angles.
Sir. Love the Corsair build very sexy plane. You have a very lucky wife letting you build your toys but I bet you treat her like a Queen. A give give marriage. Love the jet planes too. Take Care.
Are you some kind of engineer? The reason I ask is the process you used to balance the airplane. Seems to be a complicated process Just saying Holymolley 5 LBS nose weight? Move something forward.
+Stunt Hangar no. Not an engineer. Should have been I suppose. Yea it was a lot but not crazy for this type of aircraft. All the heavy stuff was as far forward as possible.
👍...love your weathering on that beauty.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching.
Watched the Corsair series. Sir, you are an artist! Amazing.
Thank you so much! Appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!
I THINK EVERYONE WATCHING WANTED TO SEE AND "HEAR" THAT BEAUTIFUL SAITO RUNNING.
Oh Yea! Can't wait to maiden it! It just sounds tough and mean!
Cant wait to see it fly...! I checked out a 7 cylinder OS that would look and sound killer on that build but it was 3,749.00 US......!!!
Yea that’s would be a sweet engine but 💰 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰
@@thelightersideofrc IKR...! You Need a bank roll for that one...!!
😂exactly
Bosch makes small laser levels you can set up under air frame to project a dot straight up on wings , that’s how I do some set up
Nice! Thanks for the suggestion!😎
Another great video !!!! Thanks
Thanks for Watching!
Nice build ! (I enjoyed watching it ;)
Glad you enjoyed!😊
Klasse gemacht,weiter so

Nice.
Thanks Ricardo!
Love these vids man, no where near getting a carf but someday lol
Hey man. The first step is the desire! I know it's an old saying but if there is a will, there is a way!
congratulações amigo. em seus videos não pude ver a lincagem dos flaps. seria possivel?
On this one we went with the stock single setup servo. We are building another at some point and will go with the 2 servo setup.

Brian Emery possibly but with the C of G range it should be fine. We do the same thing with our jets. Set the C of G in the landing setting.

Shadow Opp.'s RC thanks 😊. After My friend saw the video he messages me and told me he has a box of steel shot. 🤷🏻♂️ oh well. Just using what I had.
@@thelightersideofrc Nothing wrong with using what you have!

@@thelightersideofrc good deal.
Fun!
😊 Thanks Tom
Why don’t you use steel shot? It’s heavier than lead.
Had no clue there was a difference. Just using what I had access to.
Unless they're really old shells they should be steel anyway? Hit some with a torch and see if they melt😡🥵🤬😎
Thanks 😊

need a bigger engine instead of adding weight XD, looking good though, i always cringe having to add weight to get the CG right
Totally! Especially when your adding 4 to 5 lbs!

@@shelbyseelbach9568 it sure feels odd having to add so much weight but of course by nature of the design of the full scale it's necessary.
What are your gain settings? On the gyro
Haven’t maidened the plane yet. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks.
Best starting point for this kind of plane IMHO is 30% .
Great job. Wish customer just choose a bigger engine
Thanks 😊. We will see how it flies. If it flies decent than he will probably sticks with what it has. If it’s lame than I’m sure he might go the bigger engine route.
The Lighter Side Of Us I’m sure it will fly great as is.
Hope so 🤞we are at 3000 ft here in Calgary so it definitely affects things.
How much did you pay for that CG scale?
