Am I missing something? How do you know what finger picking pattern you’re suppose to use by just looking at a chord chart (what strings to pick and what order, when a hammer on, slide, or pull off is used)? Is it the numbers at the bottom of the chord charts? Thanks in advance!
You’re not missing something Chase, I’ve just always done finger picking patterns by ear and so I don’t have that indicated in my videos, but hopefully you can see and hear enough to get the idea. Thanks for watching!
I actually don’t really use my nails that much or maintain them when I’m finger picking. For the most part I just play with the pad or tip of my fingers.
@@DavidLockard Thank you for your reply. Do we need increase the force behind the fingers then to make a good sound in guitar without nails? Because my guitar sounds so dull without nails
It’s hard to say without hearing what you’re talking about, but it may have to do with how fresh the strings are. If they are older strings and pretty worn that can make them sound dull, but again it’s hard to say without actually hearing it in person.
Beautiful. God bless your heart David...
Thank you Agnes!
