Growing up my mom loved to wear red. Red lip, and her trusty red blazer. I always wear all black and chose one item. Either red shoes, a knit sweater or a beanie. Sometimes an oversized buffalo plaid. Going strong since the nineties. 😂😂😂😂
I just purchased Everlane's true red beanie and found a vintage red bandana scarf at my local Value Village and can't wait to add a little colour to my wardrobe! I also love all of the ways you use red. Black and red always look steeze together!
A semi-matte red lip (or a red tint for a softer / more casual look) is my go to; I have a pair of true red frames for my prescription glasses; and recently got a great pair of mid-hell true red mary janes. All easy ways to bring a little something something to a basic black on black or black and white outfit.
While red might not be my color I definitely can use these tips for other colors. I tend to where a lot of black, white, and grey. Sometimes I feel like I need some color and these would be easy ways.
A pop of red has always been my favourite colour … red cardigan, red scarf, red hairband etc Such a cool statement piece ! Thankyou for the ideas and confidence to wear red. ❤
@@EmilyWheatley i had a job once where we wore black aprons & they switched to red. I was thrilled, but my boss looks at me funny & says “why? It’s such an angry color”. I’m like “no it’s not…it’s cheery!” He wisely shut up 🤣
Great video ! I bought a big bold red ring :) ! Perfect statement piece when you are only wearing black …And I might also go for a red beanie sooo cooool
I live in Kansas City. It is Chiefs Kingdom so we wear a lot of red around here. 😉 I added red Vans to my shoe collection a couple of years ago and recently a red pair of Mary Janes. I do like the idea of a red bandana and I plan to wear it more.
I always have red in my closet. I have a few red accessories and a beautiful red quarter zip sweater that I bought last year. When I was teaching I always had a red blazer. I love red.
Love the Monday Minis! And I love red. I think I need to add red leather gloves for the season. I have a red wrap, red shoes, red sweater, and just acquired a red skirt. 😊
Hi Emily I loved this. I have a beautiful thrifted scarf made in Italy , a pretty red bag, red leather gloves...so may get brave and get red shoes. Today I wore a red sock pop with sandals. I did get a look from the husband. I will probably just use one or twi things at a time. Love your videos.. ❤❤❤
I feel differently from most of your comments below in that I am not a fan of the Monday Mini! You offer so much in your regular videos and I felt that this short format did not showcase you in the same way. That said, it was a great topic and I loved the examples you gave. Looking forward to seeing your outfits during the week :)
Yaaaas!! I was so on the cobalt blue band wagon years ago when i still wore color. And I still have some neon green items when I'm feeling like a good statement color. :-)
Fun ideas but I still don't understand why everyone is rushing to add red or any other color that is deemed trendy. I love red, so I guess I'll put mine away for awhile LOL
Really, Emily: $248 for a red scarf is "low cost?" LOL! Get real! Not everyone is gifted nice pieces to shill. I love your tips, but this was a bit tone deaf.
I think all the Utubers give us ideas. They don't expect us to buy the exact same one. For instance I can get a beautiful scarf at an estate sale that maybe someone picked up in Italy, France, Spain etc. I have picked up scarves for one dollar that were probably expensive. People will buy a scarf because easy to pack when going home. I have watched Erin Busbee for years and years and she has told me she thinks it is amazing how I can find a nice faux leather blazer for one dollar at an estate sale ( last day of sale) similar to the one she showed. Anyhow, just my opinion and not stepping on anyone's feet. I started watching Emily because I love her style, and I think she is beautiful on the outside but most important to me as to who I watch....just as beautiful on the inside. Take care ❤
Watch the video, get inspired, go out and pick up a red scarf that you like and can afford. Easy. Also, there are four specific scarves (from $22 to $58 ) that she recommends that are listed in the description box. She also lists the exact pieces she’s wearing in case someone really really wants to duplicate her look. That’s where the more expensive scarf comes in. I’m my opinion, her videos offer LOTS of recommendations at LOTS of price points. And most of the time she doesn’t even recommend new consumption. I’ve been seeing the same clothes in her closet for years. She’s a keeper for me.
@@MidModMeridianASMR Yes glad u feel the same. Emily appeared on my feed one day months ago...so I i have not had the pleasure of watching her for years, but I have gone back and watched a lot of her older stuff. I now have donated a ton of clothes I did not love and realized my basic clothes are all neutrals which I grouped together in my closet. My pops of color are in drawers and I enjoy getting dressed because of Emily. I don't need to shop for anything new, but being a thrift shopper for everything almost, I will find an amazing scarf or something like a hand made kimono..and usually by Saturday's the prices are ridiculously low. The faux leather blazer jacket I got was on The Real Real for 163.50 at 60 percent off . I got it for one dollar. Have a great week.
red lip!

Love the red “pops” and thought just a red lip might be the ticket💄💋

Oh yes, great suggestions as well!
I am lovin` the Monday Minis!! I'll be looking for the YT shorts.

Love the short and sweet mini video!! I am also loving the wear vs. style shorts!!! Totally inspiring me to shop my closet.
I do too. I have attention deficit and the YTers who make 30-40 min videos lose me. The socks idea - love it. The scarf and hat idea - love it.
Great video - I love red ❤ I am literally wearing red Converse sneakers right now!

Red is very bold. Thanks for the tips. I get many of my accessories at Dollarama 👍💕🇨🇦
I have some Tommy Hilfiger chinos I've been holding on for 10 years just for this moment!!!
Red shoes…always my favourite!❤❤
Definitely!
I enjoy wearing most colors but red is so strong. I'm up to trying your tips on hints of red. Thank you!

I love red on everyone BUT ME. WHY IS THAT!! I am going to have to try a pop of it somehow this season and see if I can’t bear it!!
Anybody over 50 remember the children’s book ‘Ann likes red’?
Lots of women look great in red ❤ plus the men love it …I guess it’s in their DNA

Never had a problem with this ❤
Collect the whole set 😁
Love a sock pop! Im still stuck on cobalt blue and noen green so my sock pops are blue and green! 💙💚

@@EmilyWheatley Neon green is seriously the best. I am slowly adding more accent pieces to my wardrobe. Such a punch of energy!
Fun mini! Where is your gray turtleneck from? I love the look with the trucker jacket!
❤
Where did you get the jacket?
I have been eyeing those Vivaia shoes. Are they supportive? Are they comfortable?
Soooooo comfortable!!!
I’m concerned with your weight loss! Granma Roberta

I would rather see one longer form video with your tips and styling together than these minis and especially not you tube shorts …

I just bought a vintage French silk scarf in a beautiful shade of red for $3.00 at a thrift store. Easy Peasy.
