Tramontina has some nice quality materials depite the lack of fit and finish. With the direction your standard American home improvement store has taken with cheap no-name-stainless machetes, I think it says a lot that you can still find Tramontina occasionally in these places. It has definitely made a name of itself despite machetes not having too much of a presence in the US.
The 14" Bolo Machete - almost identical to the Tramontina above - was the Australian Army issue Machete during WW2 ... I have one and it is a heavy piece of steel with a blued blade. These are superb tools for the Bush, Jungle and Scrub encountered in the South Pacific regions of Australia and Asian Jungles.
After stumbling into Tramontina brand in UA-cam, I've looked every major stores in Auckland, New Zealand for this brand of machete but unable any here, I think that people no longer import them into this country. Sometimes in September I will be visiting Hawaii for a week, I wonder if you make delivery via postal service to Hawaii, if I order online through you guys?
This is the blade I extensively used in this video: ua-cam.com/video/uaayDImIT0c/v-deo.html Except for the fit-and-finish, it is one of the best big blades ever made!
is machete specialists still in business of today 2024 the website is up but you cant purchase anything payment information does not come up during checkout attempts
The Man we are hoping to get them back in within a couple of months. Please go to our website and put your email address in the “alert when stock is available” box under that item. www.machetespecialists.com/product/hansa-18-inch-lampon-machete/
MrTHEMANIMAL I've never done that. I'd actually think that the wax would pick up dirt and debris as you are using the blade, thus possibly leading to more damage. I typically use a little bit of blade oil to wipe them down with. If I know I'm going to be storing a blade for awhile I will give it a nice coating of blade oil before putting it in sheath.
MrTHEMANIMAL Hi, I use Camelia oil, it is edible so on can cut foodstuff with ones blades. Used buy the Samurais for their swords and by the women for their hair. Sold either as cooking oil or for beard/hair/skincare. Or get really expensive for Tantos. Warning:You will get softer skin if you use it.

That’s my go to machete it’s cheap and works really good
My grandfather have one that is over 40yrs old, its cuting great, almost lost a finger whe he sliped in the mud.
I have 2 machetes. A Latin style for tall grass and a Tramontina Bolo for thicker vegetation. I keep them both wicked sharp for ease of use.

I Have a hand forge tramontina bolo but no number on it, can you evaluate the period it was made. The sheath is green and it look old.
I like it but I would prefer a rubber handle to prevent wood breaking.
Greetings Machete Specialists!

Is it normal for tramontinas to get play in the blade after a while?
@@Beardman56 I meant like loose
more mass towards the tip makes it slower.
It’s for cutting branches not killing zombies
No new vids in 6 years? lol
