That is a serious chunk of fatwood. I have a fair bit now. Same as yours, old, grey and super sticky. Mine came from a root ball of a fallen pine. My hatchet & machete copped a workout. My machete took one edge roll because I hit a rock amongst the dirt. It filed out in seconds. Love the Tramontina bolos.
I've carried this blade for 25 something years. I sand and round the wood handle, learned from Mexicans in the everglades for 2 years clearing malalueca for the forest division. I love a bolo
Well, I can’t say for certain. I have never been to Hawaii but I hear it’s beautiful. This bolo definitely works for the woody vegetation south Alabama has so I would imagine it would do well almost anywhere.
If you would have had this channel about 10-15 years ago, you would have saved me a whole lot of money :)

Can't beat that Tramontina sing.
It’s my favorite!

Question please: does the 19inch BLADE Tramontina bolo machete exist?
I like the bolo a lot because of the blade shape and it’s just a smaller but good size to carry
Nice
I just got one of these Bad M F ers!! I can't wait to sharpen her up and give Her Hell!
My favorite machete!
Hai, which one better? The latin style? Or the bolo style?
This bolo or the Latin style for the Hawaiian jungle?

I have an Ontario 18” I can say that my hand gets tired on small branches, I want to buy something lighter. how much does yours weigh?
I can’t be sure of the weight on this one but I’m definitely sure it’s lighter than the OKC 18”
😊
Wow not bad
Not bad at all!
