I’m retired now, but I always prepared my work outfits the night before, I got up at 4:30 am as it was. When I got home from work, I always dealt with each day’s outfit, too, steaming, brushing, etc. before relaxing. I worked in a very formal corporate office, so I had to look very put-together every day. It made my work life so much easier.
Same! My mother taught me that. I even took it a step further and started planning a work week’s worth of outfits, but since the pandemic, I’ve been working from home several days a week and don’t need to plan that far ahead. I get up at 4:30 am on my office days and I’m not a morning person, so it would be difficult for me to have to pick out my outfit in the morning.
Laying out my clothes the night before has been a game changer! It is a nice creative activity to do in the evening AND it helps me start to visualize the day. If I know that I will feel good, I know it will be a good day :)
I think I'm going to try to lay out my outfits every night. I don't have a lot of time in the morning and I often just grab the exact same type of outfits. Planning outfits at night seems like such a great idea. Thanks so much!
Planning my outfits was my favorite hobby when I used to work out of the house almost 2years ago. On Sundays I used to check the weather for the week and plan the 5 outfits for the work week, now I still do it sometimes when I have something special to do.
I thought I was getting both bored and boring with my style so I decided to incorporate patterns (I had mostly plain colours and stripes) but I realised that I wore these pieces 2 or 3 times and did not feel like wearing them anymore....so back to my basics! I decided for the moment to stick to accessorizing with different scarves, jewellery, belts (which I thrift). I also spend some time trying to mix all my pieces differently (I use Instagram for inspiration) which really helped!!!
I love your videos because it focus more on buying less which I find great.😍 As a mom of 2, I always have to plan our outfits a day before because we have to leave home early for school, kindergarten and work throughout the week so I don't have time for choosing outfits in the morning. Thank you for sharing your tips.
A year ago, when I needed a few new t-shirts or other knit tops, I updated with fine-ribbed, square neck ones. They really freshened up my basics and I discovered a new neckline that I love. (Crew necks aren’t flattering on me, and they’re not required in my mild climate.)
Love the tip to plan for the outfits. Whenever I do that, I am happy with my look. However, I am not consistent and maybe that’s due to WFH situation. Now that we are slowly getting back to the office I will for sure plan for my outfits. My biggest struggle (when in rush) is that I quickly dress and then lastly I put on my shoes only to realize that they do not work together 😖 Thanks for the video and tips! Hälsningar från Malmö 🤗
I am always getting ready in a rush so having the outfit all ready to go is so helpful. Nothing like getting ready in a rush and feeling uncomfortable with the choice outfit combination because I only had 2 minutes to pit something together. Great tips! 💕
Instead of thinking classic is boring, try to think of your clothing as the frame. YOU are the work of art your clothing provides the frame for. Don't want to notice the clothing so much as how great you look. Clothing can make your skin glow, your eyes sparkle, camouflage your low points and highlight your best features. You don't want people to say: "that's a great outfit!" You want them to say: "your eyes look so green today" or "have you lost weight?" or "looks like someone got a great night's sleep."
Hello, thanks for the video! I am currently trying to plan my outfits ahead. I also started using closet app which i find a HUGE help! It took me a while get into using it, but now it siply revolutionized the way i dress. I can do it faster and better and more varied! 😀 I also am learning to layer and to use bigger variety of jewerly, scarfs hear accessories...
I am going to add another reason for laying out the clothes for the next day ..... Getting going in the morning is hard for me for health reasons, since i began laying out my clothes i have found it much easier to get up. It makes it quicker and i get less cold which means my arthritis is less painful . I have found 5his has a significant flow on to my whole day.
My problem with planning my outfits is that the Nordic weather is so unpredictable, so although I want to I feel that I would have to change my plans anyway. How much does the weather change your planned outfits or what’s your throughs on this?
As usual, super well explained. ☺️ I wonder though, if you think the same concepts apply to plus size bodies? Being plus size AND petite, I always feel like I have this insurmountable set of challenges in picking styles that actually compliment my body type. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s a constant struggle for me. I’ve been teaching myself to sew in order to be able to get items (especially thrifted or vintage pieces) to fit me better, but it can be confusing at times.
Thank you. All these short practical videos remind me and bite me positively at places where I’ve made bad decisions or mistakes. Remind me to find ways to make and use my creativity more to make outfits interesting of clothes I already have and I’ve found for now great basic pieces and colours in my wardrobe. 🙂
I made a warm climate capsule idea a few years back, but might make an updated guide at some point! Here it is in case you’d like to watch it ☺️ ua-cam.com/video/o_fBD0XPUII/v-deo.html
You didn’t ask me, but here’s what I did: I got a black suede one instead of smooth leather. It suits my personality and style better, it’s just a bit softer-looking.🙂
Here’s a challenge for you, Pat Miller: learn a second language. Even the easiest one (no idea which one is that). Make videos in such language. Upload them in UA-cam. With not a lot of grammar mistakes. With no made expressions. Just with the easy flowing manner of a well educated native speaker. I’ll be there to cheerleading you with pom-pons and all! And, by the way you could also begin to recognize the existence of the different signs of punctuation; there are some out there crying because of your indifference

I watch so many videos but always come back to your classic “basic” look…. Thank you for being so genuine ❤️
This is so crazy genius. I need to re-evaluate my whole life and ontological being haha. I see my clothes so differently now!

What a brilliant idea
I try to plan my outfits on Sunday for a work week ahead.
Love your video, your daughter is in for a treat! Love the slow mo vibe, understated, and substantive quailty of your guidance. Thank you
I couldn’t have said it better myself! 😊

I love that you’re a mama now. It helps me feel like style is still possible with my toddler! Haha 😂
Thank you! Would be great if you could do a video on each of these point with more examples 🙂
Love, love, love your style! I really enjoy your videos! Thank you!
I love basics ❤️ Greetings from Germany
Thanks,Signe. Great reminders about enhancing our basic outfits.

I like to wear scarves, too, to add interest to my mostly simple, basic outfits.
Great tips Signe 👌😃
It would be nice if you showed us an example of a five layer outfit.
Really useful tips 👍
I don’t remember the brown boots. Those are so pretty! 🍂
I always lay out my outfits every evening, in fact, I plan for several days ahead
Thanks 🌸🤍🎀

Will try those tips outs.

YES!! A simple "front-tuck" or layering on a blazer which cuts us off just doesn't work, does it? I feel your constant struggle.
Hi Signe, I need some clarification on the 5 layer challenge. Does it mean 5 pieces to wear? Thanks in advance.
Yes, 5 pieces in total 🥰 thanks for watching! xx
Hi Signe. Could you tell me the name of the little machine for removing piling on knitwear please xx

Hi Signe, may I ask what watch you are wearing?
Have you ever done a style video for really HOT weather? I can't wear jeans, sweaters, scarves, jackets here.
I made a warm climate capsule idea a few years back, but might make an updated guide at some point! Here it is in case you’d like to watch it ☺️ ua-cam.com/video/o_fBD0XPUII/v-deo.html
I always have a problem with black leather motor jacket. Everybody wears it. How to not look like others in this item?

Thank you. Where did you get the beige boots in the last section of the proportions part please?
They are 2ndhand from Isabel Marant - style name is Dicker in case you’d like to look for them ☺️

@@UseLess_dk Thank you 😊
Wonderful, thank you.
How do you create the Autumn capsule key out fits board please?
I made it in photoshop but I have a guide here on other ways to create a visual wardrobe and outfits ☺️ m.ua-cam.com/video/HP6ieMVVA54/v-deo.html
I often plan the night before, but in the morning the outfit doesn't feel right and I change my mind.
❤️
I noticed that you look more beautiful since you have got a child
😅 She looks as lovely as she *always* has!
I can't imagine a five-layer outfit here in Hawai'i 😂
I chuckled, too-California desert, here! Yikes!

However, you have loads of clothes, not just a few pieces. They are ver y attractive though 😊

Why are people ruining great looking outfits with shlubby white sneakers? They are so unflattering and I'm not buying into that.
