4:07 I like that in the remake the island was where the surviving Los Illuminados cultists got banished. In the original it seemed to be just a random island Saddler had an army and lab on.
@@weed3728 OG RE4 was stuck in development Hell with multiple delays, so Capcom decided to focus in gameplay and story was just whatever. Shinji Mikami, the director of OG RE4 admitted that he wrote the story himself in 3 weeks and that was it. His wish for the Remake was that Capcom would improve the story.
@@markmagician2471 In both the original and the remake if the plan to infect Ashley with a Plaga, send her home to infect her dad who'd then infect other government higher ups with Saddler using America's influence to conquer the rest of the world didn't work they'd use the island's army to invade and infected sleeper agents in the government.
Seeing as how there’s more to the Plaga than what we knew before, Wesker’s type 2’s have got to be WAY more dangerous than what we’ve seen in Re4 remake. Strong chance he’s gonna use the progenitor virus and NE-Alpha parasite research, along with the now established black water stimulant and Krauser’s corpse.
To be fair even in the original timeline, Wesker's modified plaga was far more dangerous than the ones Leon battled in Spain. The original (spanish) plaga had to be injected and it would take days to properly reach adulthood and fully transform an individual. In RE5, one of the first scenes we see is 2 manjini infecting a normal human with some hand-held, much larger parasyte thing being pushed into the guy's mouth. This thing fully transforms the man into a full-blown manjini within seconds of first being introduced. This is Wesker's modifcation, which already is far more dangerous given the speed of full infection/takeover of the host. If the plaga worked like this originally, leon, Ashley, and the whole world would be entirely screwed.
@@Rajoovi1 very much so. Judging by transfer and infection rate, you could argue the nemesis research helped out. It’s near similar to how he consumed a zombie’s head in tentacle and out popped Ne-alpha replacing the head. Majini plaga are shaping up to be quite horrifying from Re4 remake’s implications. Plaga type 2 might actually be plaga genetically engineered with the black water stimulant hastening plaga growth in hosts for easier oral infection spreading. Reason why I bring up progenitor virus as a component to majini plaga is in the type 3 plaga which saturated the ndipaya region. Outside of plaga that’d pop out and armor the host, complete with the same armor acting as jaws to chomp down on you, there was also the large majini with clubs and head dress that were exhibiting signs of successfully bonded progenitor virus hosts, given the traits laid out in files over the whole thing.
@@Rajoovi1one thing I didn’t understand in RE5 is who controls the Majini? Who issues the orders? As they were seen guarding the Tanker while Wesker and Excella just casually walk beside the infected soldiers
Such a fantastic and intricate story, Capcom truly created a work of art Spanish speaker and grammar teacher here with a tip. The masculine definite article ''los'' (plural) can be translated using ''the'' in English so there's no need to say both in the same sentence :)
I think there was a piece of lore that stated that Ramon was sickly as a child so maybe when Saddler came and offered him a “cure” which would be the Plagas and this is what convinced Ramon to join? If the Plagas cured Ramon of his illness this would solidify why Ramon felt he had to atone for his ancestors “sins.”
The document stated that it was Ramon's mother that brought Sadler in, so it's entirely likely that his "cure" also involved him indoctrinating Ramon to the cult, and this was before or after his father died.
@@OWmyDragonballz in the og, it was, but Saddler was left as a total mystery, and left us wondering how he knew anything about Las Plagas. I suppose it was implied that there was more of a history with Saddler and his cult that we were just never told, and the remake does go into a lot more depth and answers a lot of questions.
I hope *Capcom* does an _"Operation Javier"_ expansion, but if they're doing a _Separate Ways_ DLC with Ada, I doubt they'll also do two BIG expansions for one game. I say that because Capcom hasn't done anything big for the Resident Evil remakes, but I am hoping they do at least one or the other.

I know its a small insignificant thing to mention, but I’m so glad that people that are making these RE4 Remake videos are using the correct terms. They are correctly saying “Los Iluminados” instead of “The Los Iluminados”, as well as “Las Plagas” instead of “The Las Plagas”.
If we pretend there’s a timeline where Leon & Wesker don’t intervene & Saddler’s plans progressed, do you believe they would eventually clash with Mother Miranda & her kin? Or would there be some sort of bizarre marriage of the two cults?
I’d imagine they meet in Europe at some point with one coming from Spain and the other coming from the East so that would be funny. The BOW war. Mold vs parasites
Even though in the original RE4 the lore never delves into either Mendez or Salazar's background that Salazar was as sadistic as the remake counterpart, but seeing how Mendez was swayed by Sadler into joining his cult. To me that says he's power hungry or had a hidden irresistible lust for power and such. However the remake veersion, Sadler seems to have much more trust in Krauser (unless i missed something in RE4 remake).
In the remake Krauser didn't work for Wesker. After Operation Javier killed his whole unit and the US government covered it up he found out about the cult and went to Saddler to get the Plaga's power for himself so he wouldn't be in a situation like that again. But because of his guilt for the loss of his men I think he had a death wish and wanted Leon to kill him in the end.
Incredible! Nice detailed work on this. I've never played or really watched the old RE4 with any real diligence until the remake now so I feel like I'll be able to better understand what's happening in the game after seeing this. Your lore vids are the best! Well played.
With Bitores Mendez you kinda mixed up the original and the remake. Mendez's False Eye was used in a retinal scanner in the original RE4. In the Remake it's just a treasure for selling.
That's one of the few details I'm sad the remake took out... how clever was it when the original quoted him saying "the path to the castle shall never open beyond my gaze"!... or something to that effect lol
So it doesn't appear as though, Sadler has complete control over his main lieutenants...seeing they have some free will (Ring Wraiths from Lord of the Rings is a great example).
There’s still the links to him hating the government and wanting revenge so maybe he did just join willingly but I’d imagine he was still sent by Wesker. Who knows tbh
In the original he's working with Ada and clearly doesn't care at all about Los illuminados, he doesn't trust Ada so he was expecting her betrayal. Pretty sure he was directly working under Wesker.

Oh it get’s crazier. With all this knowledge, Luis’s death turns into not just a tragedy, but a blessing for the earth. Great work
About the ending, so it is how the parasite made its way to Africa in Resident Evil 5?
Adam saddler? Is that a joke about Adam Sandler? Lol
At 4:38 you said that Osmund Saddler was convinced to join the cult and go into him families castle and release las plagas. I'm pretty sure you meant to say Ramon Salazar.
No, he said it correctly. Thanks to the new leader osmund saddler, he (Salazar) was convinced...
@@carlwhy I figured it out. He should have said "He was convinced" what he actually said was "Osmund Sadler, was convinced." Basically poor sentence structure.
I know right, Adam Sandler was the culprit all along, I should've known, lmao.
How did Salazar ever sew the Garrador's eyes together and lock him downstairs? Dude woulda fucked him up.
Hope to see more Resident Evil videos in the future. 🙏
