AC/DC fans are so fortunate to have found Brian Johnson as Bon’s replacement. Guy is a total gentleman and had always shown respect. Then he takes the band to even bigger status.

@@poitor5915 It's amazing to think that the job was Noddy Holder's if he wanted it, as apparently, AC/DC contacted his management, and Holder's response was a firm but polite "no", as he felt that Slade still had some gas left in the tank. I doubt they got very serious about it, but the real interesting one in the list of candidates was Steve Marriott. Obviously, he could have handled the vocals easily, but how the hell would that have sounded?

i’ve been a life time fan of ac/dc from the time they played at our high school dance in ‘74 before even bon was a member and have read countless books biographies etc etc and never heard this rubbish until recently when reading a similar comment page😩i had to respond to this shit and found out that these claims were made by holder himself in a 2015 slade box set release👎🏻this is an old publicity stunt to throw up dirt to get attention😡i agree with you that the young’s couldn’t of been to serious and it was their management that contacted them,if it really happened at all😵‍💫noddy holder replacing bon i’m still pissing myself😂yes steve marriot would of been a great fit there’s a rumour they were also looking at dan mcathrey from nazareth neither of these storys have any solid basis😩regardless of what’s true or not brian was and will always be the best man for the job☝🏻rock on bro🤘🏻

Well said. I totally agree. For a long time, I have said/thought that Brian Johnson and David Ellefson strike me as being the most normal and nicest guys in rock. They just strike me as the normal, down to earth kind of guys. I remember reading Dave Mustaine's book many years ago..and he upon first meeting Ellefson, he described personality by saying, 'he was so kind..it was as if he had just fallen off of the turnip truck'. haha. Both strike me as what I describe as, 'ahhh shucks', kind of guys. Sure Ellefson was involved in that perverted incident a little while back...but that doesn't change what kind of guy he is.
..But yeah, he and Brian seem like the most grounded and normal guys in rock.

Brian could've never wrote Down Payment Blues and Bon could've never wrote Back in Black--it's just how it is. Got into ACDC with Brian from the Donnington gig about 13 years old, blew my mind and was addicted ever since. Worked backwards to Bon and loved his work also, 2 totally different talents but both still ACDC with that unique sound. I love being that fan who has a preferred singer but totally enjoys the other, switching between Shot in the Dark to something like Gone Shooting in a playlist is just amazing! Love this band so glad they're back ❤

Being a huge fan I had the privilege of meeting Brian at the Isle of Man TT races back in the early 80’s he was walking down the high street in Douglas and I went over and said hello and shook his hand, we spent the next 20min just chatting about their new album flick of a switch that had just gone straight to number #4 in the album charts and about bikes of course, he even asked me what I was doing on the island! 😮he’s just a genuinely nice feller…Cheers Brian! It was a real pleasure 🍻

I remember being 13 years old, Bon passed away and it was thought that the band was done. There is no way the band can lose an iconic lead singer like Bon and continue. You just can’t overcome that kind of loss. Then they come out with Back In Black and we were stunned. Then people started passing along rumors that Brian was the reincarnation of Bon. Silly stuff.

Out of all my favorites, such as Ozzy, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Disturbed, the Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper, AC/DC is probably my number one favorite. Whether it's Bon or Brian, AC/DC always has been and always will be very near and dear to me. For those about to rock, we salute you.
