At 39 years old I will always love AILD….it’s got me through a lot of dark hard times….Been a fan ever since Beneath the Encasing of Ashes…. And Frail words collapse…. The 2003 album with Forever and 94 hours were bangers back then and my favorite songs. Forever my favorite band of all time.

These guys and Killswitch got me into the core! Had a bit of a dark period during covid, listened to Shadows are Security heavily that year. Forever one of my favorites.

I get that people change over time and go on different paths, I accepted that the other guys are done with AILD but I really hope this sort of new band maybe can write songs even close to as good as AILD did. That would make me really happy and satisfied, I'll be waiting patiently.
Playing the old songs is great and all but we will see what they got when it comes to the next album, I'm hopeful but leery
Yeah, they've got their work cut out for them and some seriously big shoes to fill. I'm stoked they got Ryan Neff, that dude is a star and he's one of the only people in the scene who could adequately take Josh's place imo
@@xhali2953agreed, I do hope that one day he can hit the high notes in songs like Blinded or Shaped By Fire, but I want to cut him some slack since his voice is lower than Josh’s and he can sing his own parts in MMI pretty well
The 2 remaining original members wrote all the songs anyway
@@dannie2712I was just gonna say that, Tim and Phil are the main writers. I think the songs will still sound like as I lay dying. Only different will be Ryan’s voice is different than Josh’s. I just heard another bassist that sings that has a higher voice. But I can’t remember who it was.
This band has put out so many great songs with some amazing riffs! Love them!

Ken susi was a pioneer of metalcore himself. I’m glad to see him still having a great time!
Unearth was the reason I started listening to metal. I have mixed feelings about AILD because of Tim, but I'd love to see him perform with them live.

I cant wait for the next AILD album. Ive alway been a big Ken Susi fan, and know he was a huge part of Unearths sound. I really wanna hear what he'll add to the band, if he's given the opportunity to help with the writing process. A great replacement for Nick.

I saw these guys in a christian owned coffee shop in 2000 in el paso tx. I saw them with 10 other people, its was insane. first time seeing a heavy band.
I got to see them in a bowling alley in Filer, Idaho around the same time.

Omg ded! But luckily in real life for myself the new members are OGS from unearth, and their live shows are killer still if not better actually, probably cuz Phil actually wrote most of the riffs as did Tim according to the band, I miss the old members also, but hey they are in mire and spirit box so they are still out there, just more to watch honestly, and unearth and miss may I still slay as well, it seems to be a very good calculated choice.

I will say this, the band isn't the same vibe, with Jordan, Nick, Josh, hell even Clint gone.....Phil sticking around is the only real OG left that still believes in Tim.....Shape By Fire was there best shot at a huge comeback and the last just kept coming back. It sucks I loved this band from the demo before Frail Words Collapse and have been a fan, but after what Tim did, Shaped By Fire I was hoping was the comeback......it sucks I cannot listen to them anymore now that almost everyone has left.......
