Hey. Thanks for going deep on the Ekko. A consideration for folks is the SS is, of course slick. Feel awesome but slick is slick an the Ekko in closed profile is pear shaped. Gravity, however is intent on making the knife fall from your grip. Opened, it sits nicely in my hands and the profile works nicely. The Pyrite's more neutral profile is easier to hold on to. Waiting on both from KC. Apparently the Ekko was a pre-order so now they’re holding the Pyrite until the Ekko comes in. Muscle fatigue from the heat could have played a role on the strap performance test. But it’s dry heat😜 I love the dry, arid climate. But, I’m with you on that 65* mark.
I do like the way the Ekko hits the stop pin on close. The Pyrite doesn't, so the Ekko gets the acoustics, and might also be better for longevity of the plunge mechanism. I'm still team Pyrite 🤟
I have a weakness for the murdered out version of knives too. Check out the new sencut that dropped 2 days ago. I sharpened the black ekko a few days ago and the arrpm9 does indeed get really sharp and shiny , same as pyrite did .
