My wife has one FWD and loves it. I have driven it many times and it is pretty good, It's not my Silverado, but fits the bill for her 1.3 Turbo is more than she needs and if she is happy, than I am happy, plus we got a good deal, time will tell.
6:28 man, that engine is tiny. This thing is just begging for a larger motor. It’s like the bean counters swooped I’m at the last minute and forced their hand.
Chevy has no imagination Too much competition in that price range, ok if $19k not $25k Plus a 3 cylinder engine being abused by a turbo day after day equals shortened engine life if you have a heavy foot on the go pedal
Diesel engines have no problems in semi tractor trailers for thousands of miles a week. This is just ride on low rpm torque to get grandma to her bingo a couple times a week. Hardly any stress at low rpms. Plus it'll $8-10,000 off just like the Chevy Trax.
If your considering this vehicle don't listen to all the hate go for it! I almost let that change my opinion on buying mine two weeks ago and other than my vehicle not having some of the upgrades like the technology package the car is awesome. I have the panoramic sunroof with full leatherette seats. It seriously doesn't feel underpowered like many people claim. It's a comfortable ride. The only advice I would give is make sure the one you pick has all the upgrades you really want but at the end of the day I went with the one I got because it was 5k less than the fully loaded one I had been looking at and I couldn't justify 5k more for adaptive cruise control and the bose sound system. It's really spacious especially in the rear seats while being small enough for easy parking. So If your like me and want something that has all wheel drive but enough room for one child it's a solid choice.
My daughter just bought one of these. She didn't listen to anyone else including her dad lol! She loves it! If you take these at face value I think they're a great buy. If you're looking for an off-road monster or a race car you'll be disappointed.
The display can be color. It's the adaptive cruise control package. You get adaptive cruise, leather wrap wheel, leather wrap shifter, color 4.2 display. and a rear arm rest. $620. I think well worth it.
Joe, I love how you try to get people to be interested in a vehicle a lot of us wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole Lol!! Great entertaining review as always.

See...I feel like Chevy is holding back engine wise...if they're gonna give us the Trailblazer, give us the horsepower that made it! We need an SS model or something...its a beautiful truck, but where's the power!
I agree. On an LT with rubber steering wheel, the basic driver info screen is disappointing. You look at this stuff every day and it really diminishes the experience. I don’t like 3 cyl but if you compare power to the competition with the 1.3 this is not too bad.
GM has some of the best designers in the business. But then the corporate bean counters intervene and force them to work on a budget. We have seen what they can do with the new Corvette and Cadillacs.

Just a personal FYI for people. I recently commented on one of Joe's (great) reviews if anyone had recently gone new car shopping during the pandemic thing. Wondering if there are deals to be had? Well I did. I bought a thoroughly pimped out 4 door Wrangler Sahara Altitude with the power roof, 6 cyl., leather interior, 18" wheels etc. etc.. MSRP was 55something and I paid 46something. I think I did pretty well but of course, who knows. Maybe you can do better 6 months from now in the "Going Out of Business" sales.
Should’ve just invested actual effort into bringing back the el camino. Maybe a camero with a truck bed. But nah something fun and quirky would be crazy lets just get more crossovers.
Cute little vehicle 🚗. The wife is still searching for a subcompact SUV. We may put this one on her list then again maybe not. Maybe we’ll put a motor on a skate board 😀. Like the exterior color. The interior looks a bit cheap but not too bad. Great review as always mr. Raiti!!!
Great review Joe. Definitely agree with you on that zonk. I don’t know why all these manufacturers just stick with the shark fin antenna. It’s a much cleaner look.
I thought (I had three Chevrolet Trax) and I would have said the Trailblazer is an Equinox with a couple of feet cut off its little butt. It is bigger than my Traxes were, but smaller than an Equinox. Some days I miss the smaller Trax and I may go back to it, but I really love my trailblazer. I had three Azteks and when they stopped making them I KEPT the last one for nine years and a lady came on to I-40 the wrong way one night just west of Amarillo and she TOTALLY KILLED MY 2004 AZTEK. I never really liked the SMALL sunroof of the Trax. I had two diesel VW Jetta Sportwagens and then got a TRAX. I still have not forgiven the 9th District COURT for their DESTRUCTION OF THE VW Jetta Sportwagen. IT WAS A WONDERFUL CAR...and the recall of them was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY I loved mine. I really didn't care about CALIFORNIA and their stupid narrow-minded air problem that is ONLY IN LA!!! And I have been all over CA and only LA has an inversion and problem with cars. THE WHOLE USA has had to suffer because of NOT CALIFORNIA but LA AND THE 9th District Court. THE WESTERN SCOTUS!!!!! Mine was a solid Metalic gray and I didn't like the two-tone.
The trailblazer is actually really nice. My wife wants a upgrade (bigger family car) and I think I will take her to look at one of these. That front end makes me want to drive it. Looks mean.
This has nothing to do with the old school trailblazer. People need to get over the name. It also isn’t for off road. This is the new small family car. Instead of a Cruze, this is what someone would buy. It is easier, and less cost to re use an old name, and does bring some recognition, but it doesn’t mean there is any connection with the new vehicle and what it used to be. Same with the Blazer. Same with Honda Passport, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Chrysler Pacifica.
You asked why anyone would want to turn off the traction control. Well you probably wouldn't while you are driving. But if you are parked and get stuck in deep snow, to the point where you gotta have a buddy push you, traction control hinders your ability to get unstuck. It's much easier with it off.
GM know for its great blunders, what happened if Chevrolet give digital tachometer and rear ac vent? I really don't understand, chevy does want to be in market or not. I give a big thumps up for Chevrolet exterior designs it's always looks pretty and sober.
It does look like a remote control car 😂😂 but its sad though because they named it a Trailblazer. I'll keep my 2003 truck frame version for a few more years.

Years ago I had a Chevy Sprint with a three cylinder engine. Also owned a '79 Yamaha 750 triple cylinder motorcycle once upon a time. This Trailblazer would be like a 'triple play" for me... or "triple crown?" or "third time's a charm?" Or... ok I'll stop already! 😁
Now they just need to bring the bigger Trailblazer sold overseas here and make this Trailblazer the Trailblazer Sport and make Trailblazer and Blazer Chevy’s sub-brands.
The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer should also come with vents on the mesh grille. Chevrolet should also fix the rear backup camera and front facing camera by changing the resolution to 4K. It should also come with a power rear liftgate, Rear A/C and a rear entertainment system with a rear radio
@miguelkennedy9520 your right though it should come standard on all of them just not the sunroof/liftgate package. I do wish It had rear vents though but I must say coming from a durango with rear vents which did nothing as it was still hot as hell in the back it actually stays really cool in the trailblazer. I've only owned mine for 2 weeks now but I'm pretty happy. I wish it had wireless android auto but since mine was manufactured in May 2020 and it didn't come standard until September 2020 I didn't get it. I'm going to get an adapter though so not a big deal
I love this guy, you might have to option down to the whopper jr lmao. I want a review before we dive into this 2020 dodge caravan let's talk about the history of the twinkie
As someone who could care less about engines... cause, what? I go around the city or town I'm in going 50-60kph or on highways, I could care less if it's not zooming by and it's got similar power to many compact SUVs/compact sedans - I really enjoy this car and its sister (Buick Encore GX). I can understand some would be disappointed that the TrailBlazer name isn't up to it's old early-mid 2000s name. I would get the AWD simply for the 9-speed transmission - I honestly don't know if I could trust a GM CVT at this time. I love the styling, size, etc. and I do find it weird as I was looking into the car (Canadian version) that if you get the AWD version you get a better speaker system with an amplifier + active noise cancellation vs. the FWD models. I definitely think the shark fin antenna would help however with the external styling. In Canada (I don't know about the US?) it has packages to get leather steering, adaptive cruise, colour 4.2" gauge display, etc. in the LT model for ~$1,300 CAD total. I look forward to test-driving this, I think I may be getting one of these but gotta go through the motions first. I mostly would take it camping in parks, so the boost in storage compared to my Cruze hatch would be great. Also the Trailblazer is ~9" shorter than the Cruze, same wheelbase length - what?! I also am looking forward to having the higher seating position compared to the Cruze - I'm not an old man, but I sure feel like one trying to get in and out of a sedan nowadays!

I've only owned mine for 2 weeks now but I'm pretty happy. I wish it had wireless android auto but since mine was manufactured in May 2020 and it didn't come standard until September 2020 I didn't get it. I'm going to get an adapter though so not a big deal
@@lenacheney Yep
