    Hi David, excellent video. Can I use Kadence blocks with the Blocksy theme? Or should I use Stackable? I appreciate your advice.

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can use Kadence blocks with the Blocks theme. I've done so. Blocksy and Stackable co-promote since they complement each other, but you can use any block collection with Blocksy.

    Thanks for this good comparison. What about elementor? Looks like stackable trying to be like elementor but with Gutenberg base

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 роки тому +1

      Elementor is a different ballgame. There are more design options, and if you use 3rd party addons, you can create very sophisticated sites. Note, you can still use Gutenberg for content even if you are building the site with Elementor.

    Thanks for this very thorough comparison. Do you see a problem with having both plugins active on a site at the same time?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 роки тому

      My rule of thumb in don't put a block from one 3rd party addon into the container of another one. I did notice that the database icon showed up twice on the contextual button bar with both activated.

    What will happen to a page build by these builders when you disable the plugin?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 роки тому +2

      You will need to keep the plugin enabled or convert the blocks to one that is installed. Otherwise there will be a block error.

    Hi David, great video, thank you... is it possible to move a website built with Stackable to Kadence. or will I need to start from scratch again?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  2 роки тому

      There is no automated way to do it. You would need to manually replace any Stackable blocks used before disabling the plugin.

    Hello David, thanks for this comprehensive comparison. Your final recommendations are very helpful. Just to make sure - can I use Gutenberg blocks and Stakcable blocks put together when building a website? For example: using Stackable Image block inside Gutenberg Column block; or using Gutenberg Navigation block inside Stackable Hero block. Won't this result in any errors?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  Рік тому +2

      You can use core and Stackable blocks on the same page. You can put Stackable blocks inside a core container block and core blocks inside of a Stackable container block. I wouldn't put a core container inside a Stackable container or a Stackable container inside a core container. Putting a core nav block inside of a Stackable Hero block sounds weird and I wouldn't do it, but you should be able to put the core nav block inside the Stackable advanced columns block. If you are wondering how it will work out for a project then I'd test out the free version.

      @@DavidMcCan Thank you for fast answer. The idea of putting a core Nav block inside of a Stackable Hero block is to position Nav over a hero image set to 100 vh. I tried to do it with core Cover block but it doesn't work properly, so I'm looking for an alternative. Anyway, thanks again for your help and advice.

    Is there any compatibility problem with this Gudenberg block plugin with other builders?

    • @DavidMcCan
      @DavidMcCan  Рік тому

      With page builders? No. You could use the pro page builder for creating the theme templates and pages and Gutenberg for post content. I wouldn't put blocks from one Gutenberg addon in the container block of another Gutenberg addon.

      @@DavidMcCanIt seems that the translation is not good (I am a foreigner and I am using Google Translate ^^) I'm using the Newspaper theme. The Newspaper theme has its own builder called Composer, and I use it when editing the page. I was looking into using the Gudenberg add-on block to use it from a styling point of view when writing blog posts, but there seems to be some compatibility issues with the Newspaper theme. So I wondered if simultaneous use is impossible. I don't have many WordPress users in my country, so I don't have enough information. No one uses the Gudenberg addon block. I don't think I understand the interaction very well. Still, the teacher's video and answers gave me great strength. Thank you.
