I loved these movies from the first time I saw them; they spoke straight to me. I went out and bought every recording I could find by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I'm old now, but Eddie lives!
This is an marvelous video! I have been watching and re-watching both “Eddie and The Cruisers” movies since their debuts. In fact, I just asked my son to return the dvd’s that he took with him to Med School. He loves them as well! “Eddie Lives!”
Having been influenced by the music of the late 50s and beyond and having run sound for a club band in the 70s this is one of my all time favorites. You could feel Eddies angst for the need to be different and better. And the music, so good. Eddie 2 was also very good. A wonderful feel good movie.
Well, I didn't wait for HBO. I actually saw it in the theature, and to me, it was an instant hit. Eddie 1 and 2 are both my favorite movies of all time. John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band was already an established great band, so it fit really well. And Michael's speaking voice was so close to John's singing voice, you couldn't tell it wasn't Eddie!! It's such a brilliant movie in more ways than one.
Nice job. 40 years since the movie, 50 years since their first gig-JC & Beaver Brown are still playing concerts across the US and are releasing a great new album in 2023.
Or Tom Cody in the Streets of Fire, I hope they don’t mess up the movie but it would be like an official sequel almost similar to “Top Gun: Maverick.” 🥺
This film was so great, simply because of the great music, the amazing saxophone and guitar solo's. And a true belief in American rock and roll is far more important than money. True musicians and those who love great music will always love this story! Eddie lives.
I loved both of these movies! Among my top favorites. Also love the music, all done by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. I actually saw them live in concert in Las Vegas, NV. in around 2002, I think. John Cafferty waded into the first few rows afterwards and I shook his hand. He reminded me of a combination of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, more faves. It was an awesome experience. 👍😎. Another plus is that the sax player from the Beaver Brown Band actually played Wendell Newton in the movie.

Loved Eddie and the Cruisers since was released. The public was not ready for the film and topic. There is always a conflict between management and those who create. Michaelangelo said it best. "When it is done." about the painting of the Sistine Chapel. Creativity is organic never linear.
