The dot effect is called "fish eye". It's a common problem in automotive paint application when the paint is too thin. Your color consistency should be like skim milk. If you can load your mixing brush with the color, and touch the side of the cup, and you see a translucent veil as it goes back into the cup, then it's about right. Spraying on a paper towel doesn't really give you a good indication that the color is mixed correctly. Since gel polishes are cleaned up using ISO alcohol, I suggest trying a 90%+ ISO alcohol to thin your polish and see if there is a better result.
Im so glad u did this video, I bought a Make up air brush machine off Amazon about 2 yrs ago and have not even used it and bought acrylic paints from walmart and figured I'd have to water tbe paints down BUT now Im eager to give it a try!!! Thanks for sharing
I have 2 airbrushes. One I just bought a couple months ago that is a rechargable hand held one similar to yours and an electric big compressor type air brush with the hose which I've had for 12 years.
Beautiful results 🥰 but it does look a lot of hard work for an ombré. With practice I can imagine you pick up speed, but is it relevant speed compared to you doing an ombré by hand/brush? Thank you so much for showing us this 😊
@@ardellesnails ahhhh thank you. I was genuinely curious that with time and practice it would save you time in the salon. So thanks for the reassurance. I’m going to really consider buying one now. Tysmfs 🥰
Hi Ardell. Great video thanks for sharing I just wanted to get your thoughts on what you think of the airbrush that you used now that it’s been a few months since you’ve had it? I am looking to buy one but thought I would ask you if it’s still a good one to buy since it doesn’t have the best reviews on Amazon thanks in advance
I had no. Idea you could use gel polish in the airbrush. I have 2 different ones I just stopped using because it was a pain to clean. I have to take the needle out & try to not bend it. It was just a hassle. Mine has the air compressor. I like this one much better
I have one of the old style as well and use to use inks. It was such a pain to clean. Dried and clogged all the time. I use this all the time, and no issues. Easy to clean! I just did a couple more gel Ombre this week on clients if you want to see what they look like instagram.com/ardelles_nails/
I recently made a video like this explaining to use acetone to thin out the paint but someone in my comments let me know that apparently acetone in airbrush is bad for your lungs?? I felt so bad I didn’t know if this is true or not
I also heard about this but other than the one video from LE nails there’s no science behind it so idk if it’s true!?! People have also said that the dust from filing is bad and the UV is bad. but then the people who say not to use gel say not to airbrush at all so is gel the worst or is it anything in an airbrush????
PLS HELP,‼️ When i try to do this with my airgun, i cure my diluted gel polish (with acetone or alcohol), it doesnt cure properly when i put it in the UV lamp. Meaning it smudges when i put on top Coat. Tips welcomed.
Please mix your acetone and polish outside the machine then pour it in. It will hurt your machine. But if you are buying cheap machines I’d say go for it!
Where are u located? I will get the correct link if your in Canada or US. I did a more recent review of an airbrush. The one in this video is a much better airbrush machine. You can find the link for it in the description of the video ua-cam.com/video/urV3Eo5cIaI/v-deo.html
@@ardellesnails tiny thick particles even the airbrush is far. It looks like the gel polish and acetone arent mixed well but I keep on mixing them but same results 🥹

Hello What do you dilute UV permanent nail polish with? Is it alcohol, acetone or isopropyl alcohol?
Hi Ardell.

The airbrush has been great so far, definitely worth the purchase
Please can you use dissolver to mix the polish
Thank you for the helpful video!💖💖
This video was really helpful thank you!
Airbrush makes for perfect ombre. Less smell and faster than using acrylics.
Yes I agree thanks for watching!
Acetone will break down gel polish.. so that being said , how will that hold up on the clients nails??
They did great… here’s a video where I used it ua-cam.com/video/c7QZ3SwomIA/v-deo.html
one question is this unit has a auto on and off option'.
Love watching your videos tysmfs 💖💗
Thanks😊
Dilute gel polish we should use acetone or isopropyl alcohol
Wow so cool very neat idea
Thank you 😘

Do not do this.
Hi Ardelle thank you for you video. Can you use this machine whilst it’s plugged in ? I use it for under coating resin soldiers
Yes you can!
@@ardellesnails Thank you Ardelle 😊
Your a good teacher how can I get one for my job
I recommend this one it’s the best I’ve ever used amzn.to/3sIhpB9
Does this make the polish last any longer without the edges lifting/peeling?
If you seal with a top coat there should be no problems
When I mix my “gel” polish with acetone it like deteriorates

Not sure why it wouldn’t cure I’ve never had a problem. You have to dilute it with acetone not alcohol. I use 100% acetone. Hope that helps

Seems like so much work
Actually it saves time
Why my airbrush gives thick spots
Your to close when spraying

@silaseenails it has to be very thin when mixed
Does acetone damage it?
No not at all
TOP !!
It’s not good idea to do on hands by moving machine side to side
That’s the least of your worries when doing nails and using your hands lol
