- Beautiful images don't have to involve complicated lighting!
In this photo critique I'll review user submitted 1 light photographs and give feedback for improvement. I'll share how small changes in the lighting, styling or pose can make a big difference to the end result. This type of critique is great to realize that small changes can make a big impact! The devil is in the details!

I generally avoid critique videos because I don't enjoy watching "experts" destroy others' work, often unnecessarily. That being said, you offer a far more constructive approach that's actually helpful and useful and simply not mean. Great work as always!
Thank you very much! I find this to be true as well -- I find a lot of photographers ripping into someone's work and I do not think that is the right way to learn. I believe in encouraging, not discouraging. :)
@@lindsayadlerphoto Critique is always good as long as It is constructive, hence CC
you see and point out things that most of us will miss while we are busy shooting and editing. i want my work ripped apart so i will be even stronger next time.
I want to echo the positive comments about your approach to critiquing Lindsay - your approach is honest and constructive, without judgement or injecting your own "ego" at the expense of others. And it gave me some ideas - looking forward to this continuing! And thank you!
Ego doesn't help anyone!
Really appreciate the teaching and the people that submitted images.
Love these. A group of us zoom meet to watch them, stopping the video just before your critique. We make our comments then listen to yours. Two things strike me. First is a general agreement with your assessments, second is damn, why didn't I think of that.
Thank you! Glad to hear you and your group are finding it useful. I'm flattered that you take the time to watch it in a group! :D
Lindsay, my images were he first and fourth ones you critiqued and I just wanted to say thank you for such helpful and insightful comments. I'll certainly take another look at the first image and see if I can improve on it. BTW, the lighting was an Alien Bee 800 with a 60 in umbrella and white cover - it's about all I use for most studio work. Unfortunately, the wrinkled paper is a feature, not a flaw, lol, but I understand what you're saying. I attended a workshop that you and Lou Freeman gave in Sacramento a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Long time fan! Thanks again, be well and stay safe!
You're welcome! :)
Lindsay rocks again. Great points and smartly delivered. Well done
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks for the critique Lindsay...I definitely should've cleaned up the hairs on the wig a little.
Loved your photo. That one makes me want to go out and shoot.
@@shifteleven thank you! I've always got that same itch to shoot.
That photo was GORGEOUS, and like she was on about, that lighting angle was fantastic! Not many people shoot from that high of a lighting angle, and it really was so stunning! 😍
Thank you!! I like to challenge myself and try things outside of the norm...just like Lindsay would do.
"Beautiful images don't have to involve complicated lighting!"
Could have stopped there.
But most want examples and proof. ;)
As usual excellent critique.
Great video, Lindsay. If there's no comment or criticism on our work it's not always easy to know where we might be going wrong. As long as it's useful comment and not just to put people down. Stay safe.
Thank you so much for teaching!🙂
i learn so much from this. thanks Lindsay

Great pics! 4th is killer. Who’s the photographer?
Unless I mentioned it in the video I don't have that information readily available.
I was - thanks!
@@lindsayadlerphoto I figured it out. Thank you!
Lindsay, the audio volume for this video is a little to low. Kind of hard to hear. Really enjoy videos however.
genuinely sounds plenty loud on my end... not to disagree with you. Just curious where the discrepancy is. Glad you enjoyed it!
