      Keep in neutral
      Raise the idle And enjoy

      False information. Interior comfort only controls the HVAC, you want to have optimized idle turned on to charge the batteries when needed. Interior comfort is not needed at all if you have an apu.

      ParkSmart is a stand-alone heating and cooling system so you are not using the truck's a/c or heat while in the bunk. If the truck is just equipped with Optimized Idle, then yes you have to have Interior Comfort Mode on. The ParkSmart system is meant to minimize engine idle time. With Interior Comfort Mode on, it monitors interior temperature and in the summer, the truck will never be able to meet the demand which will cause the engine to start and stop more frequently. With Interior Comfort Mode off, Optimized Idle still monitors the system but will only start and stop the engine when ParkSmart draws down the 4 separate batteries that it runs off of. Hope this helps!

      Once you select optimized idle, the truck will take over the idle control of the engine. Do not turn the key off. Just leave it alone until you want to turn opti-idle off again and start driving. Once engaged, opti-idle will stop the engine and remain in a stand by mode until it senses the Park Smart electric HVAC system has drained the system batteries enough for them to require recharging. The system will then start the truck’s engine and idle it for as long as it takes to recharge the batteries and then shut down again.

    Interior comfort must be turned on for the engine to turn on to cool the sleeper. Otherwise the driver will be no better off than a dog locked in a car with the windows up.

      @@jimi3540 yes, comfort mode “off” is purely to allow the truck to start and stop on its own so as to maintain the batteries in the truck. Whether just an Option-Idle truck or if it has park smart.

    how is this better than just idling?

    • @VerihaTrucking
      @VerihaTrucking  2 роки тому

      Hello Jason - thank you for your comment. A truck at normal idle burns roughly 1.5 gallons of fuel per hour. So there is 2 parts to this idle management system. Opti Idle alone monitors battery voltage, oil temperature and Interior Comfort. Opti Idle in conjunction with ParkSmart is a battery ran a/c system.
      So long story short, idling a truck doesn't generate enough cylinder temperature, which in turn doesn't cleanly burn the fuel which causes excessive soot. Soot gets trapped in the aftertreatment (Diesel Particulate Filters) system causing all kinds of issues!

      doors must be closed and locked. truck in natural. interior comfort is on. fan is on 3 or 4 clicks up. AC in the desired temperature ( front and back should be set to same positions)
      wait 5 to 10 minutes. if it’s not working I’d take it to a shop.
