Hello Donny It's nice to hear from you again and I am pleased to hear you are in a good frame of mind. Fantastic news about your new bungalow near loch Etive. I look forward to your next videos of your adventures.
Donny, you‘re a star. Whereas other UA-camrs will probably soon be forgotten about, I have a feeling your films are still going to be looked at in 50-60 years from now, much as we still watch films from the great outdoorsmen back in the 60‘s or 70‘s, like Oliver Kite who inspired so many long after his death. You are documenting life, not posing. Chapeau, well done and thank you.n
Wow..thanks for that compliment Robert..its much appreciated too :-D I still watch old Tom Weir TV programs as he walks the hills..many a good tune comes from an old fiddle ..as they say :-D
Donny Another lovely video many thanks for posting. I love seeing your adventures and each time I play one of your videos and my wife hears your signature music at the start she says Ahhh Donny. I usually watch them in the morning just after I wake up and in these winter months they are a real cheer up in the dark of the early morning. The simple pleasures that can be had around our lovely country are many and hopefully one of the good things that will come from 2020 is that many people will have rediscovered such things. As for the lengths of your videos I think the 25 min ones are fine. I still feel that if funds allow the purchase of a DJI Drone (One of the small ones) would add so much to your already excellent videos. Keep enjoying Scotland and carry on posting. Dennis and Catherine
Thanks for the feedback Dennis ..I will vary lengths depending on the story Im trying to tell..thats the best way for me to judge duration. Still no drone..perhaps one day..but if I had the money just now ..I think a better video camera would win the case ..or a gimbal for the Sony camcorder I have at present ..its an expensive hobby but enjoyable so I dont mind investing in it ...just have to prioritise what on :-D
Well done Donny, a big trip in a wee boat ! The long video is better I think, a chance to be absorbed for a while with no interruption. Quality good too, perhaps you have a new camera. Thanks for everything so far.
Thanks for the feedback Ashley. Im still using the Gopro hero 5 and a Sony ax53 camcorder..however sometimes the internet displays the videos a bit clearer..wish they would be as clear as the copy I upload..but that's the net for you. Stay safe
Thanks Cazzy ..hope you hasd a great holiday. I made the most of the good weather last week with a 250 mile boat trip..its uploading just now so enjoy it too :-D
So awesome to see modern day adventures in the land of my ancestors, among places famous in song, such as the Isle of Mull. Thanks for sharing, and from one modern adventurer to another, keep exploring!
Loved the video Donny. Saturday night, wife watching Strictly and im watching you..lol. Looks like you won a watch with the weather.. Keep up the good work.
I had a working life full of Strictly stuff Jim..so now Im retired..I prefer being out and about..and don't mind being on my own either..thanks for commenting :-D
Thanks Ben..more will come once I get to Taynuilt..busy packing and moving at the mo. So stay tuned..there will be some great adventures coming this year :-D
Thanks Stephen..Im hoping to keep them a bit longer instead of having two parts. Im also hoping to redo some of the older multi part videos with better quality souind as I was quite muffled talking in some of them..thanks for the feedback
Had an afternoon watching your videos to cheer myself up!!. Cant wait till next years Scottish Hols. Love Loch Buie. Never ventures to Carsaig as only had a kayak when last there xxx
Yup..Im looking forward to next year too Cazzy.. hopefully better weather too as this was where I planned going when we met up but weather forced us into Loch Etive ..stay safe
Danny the scenery was fantastic. In an inflatable boat one is able to visit places inaccessible to other forms of transport and have a magical experience, as you clearly did. A wonderful and engaging video. I am in County Cork in Ireland and by chance was having a Guinness whilst watching . (11 p m on a Friday night!!). Thanks Danny and Sláinte.
Hi King Kong ..glad you enjoyed the video..and yup..I certainly enjoy a good Guinness ..especially one brewed in Ireland..its much better than tin stuff :-D
Hi Donny Apologies I never gave my name in previous email...King Kong. Should have read Regards Padraig King (hence the King Kong when they were small my children thought it was really, really funny! ..they still do)
Thanks VHS.. yup..I enjoy the multi day trips the best..assuming the weather holds. I just wish I could have stayed on another day and gone further.. it was the last long multi day trip of the season..Im now doing shorter day trips again..but just as enjoyable :-D
I think you must have been going through Cuan Sound literally a day or two before us, so nice to see it again. Re the length; I think a mix of short and long is good, then we have options on which to watch according to the time we have 👍
Thanks for the feedback FishmOnster. Over the winter if we get locked down again ..I hope to modernise some of the older videos as I have all the footage ..plus more.. so will redo some of the multi part videos into one longer one..thats my thoughts at the moment anyhoo :-D
Brilliant! Compression or data rate issues in some shots making artefacts but still awesome! You are the Paul Murton of the peeepul! (Grand Tours of Scotland BBC)
Hi Cosybike..thanks for the feedback and the great compliment. Wish I could do something about the artifacts..but think its the internet speeds that cause most of it. Also ensure you watch in 1080P if possible..I notice it more on 720P. Thanks again for commenting
Nope..this new video is even better Jeff..but I have a very soft spot for Arisaig area. And that video of Loch Buie..was my fav trip of the year..so far ..stay safe till next year :-D
Lovely mate loved the 2nd part was great to watch so keep the good work up and keep boating and be safe mate with this covid 19 about all best donny mate
Hope you enjoy the new release Karl... Im must admit ..I think it one of my best. Still out and about too..so Covid will have a job catching up with me out there..its when I return to the city it worries me though..stay safe
Thanks mate you stay safe too bud a look forward to getting out their next year to loch etive because the virus put a stop to it so never got to enjoy my mariner 6hp 4 stroke outboard this year 2018 model it is arrrrrrrr but the is always another year. So stay safe mate and keep the good work up
Hi Donny, loved these videos its just a pity we didnt get a chance to meet up this year this covid thing is taking its toll ,maybe next year keep the vids coming awra best Harry.
Hi Harry..yup..I was not really socialising on boat trips this year due to Covid. Mostly going myself or with Gordon who is in my boating bubble. Once things get better again we can hopefully meet
Thanks for posting this video beautiful scenery and a fantastic adventure over 100 miles, how much fuel do you carry Donny, my 2 stroke 25hp used to only get about 6 mpg, your rlb must be very easy to push, stay safe look forward to your next trip👏
I think the RIB gets around 8 or 9mpg ..much better than my old SIB which was comparable to your usage. I have 2 x 25litre tanks and on the longer trips carry up to 6 x 10 litre containers so can go 250 plus miles ..no problem. Its not a cheap way of travelling though :-0
Hi Andrew..it was one of my best trips from this year..it was a poor year for weather and also government restrictions. Im still out and about though..and latest release now on line..enjoy it :-D
Donny were you on full throttle going under the Connel bridge at the end? Going off the concrete foundation structure you wasn't making much ground 😮 I only ask as I'm still learning and gaining experience with my honwave T38 and Tohatsu 9.8 four stroke, and if you were on full chat there's no way I would have made any ground! 😅
Hi matthew .. my friend couldnt get through the Connel bridge last year in his Honwave T38 and 9.8hp tohatsu ...so yes there are times you wont have the power to get through. Of course the flow changes every hour as the tides reach slack water .. and also spring tides have far more flow than neep tides..so you will easily manage many times but just accept other times you will have to wait a bit til the flow eases off. Only one way to find out for yourself and that is keep doing it. On a full spring tide I almost cant make it with a 25HP and a RIB .. as in this video ua-cam.com/video/aln089ZOJAg/v-deo.html
The times i spent in loch buie as a child then with my own family ,this brings back the good times thanks Donny

Excellent video Donny. Watched quite a few of your journeys and enjoyed everyone so far. I do prefer the long version. Keep making them.👌
