    FYI. I'm Japanese and I live in Japan. I was watching the news about WBC the whole time here but never heard of anybody climbing onto the top of the bus. I think either Alex Curry or Nootbaar is exaggerating what the fans were like here. It would definitely make the news if it had really happened. Nonetheless, I'm happy Japan won WBC this time.

      I didn't know there are people who said that.. everyone knows Mexico is a great team, much better than Japan... All videos I saw said Japan is going to get a hard time against them, not the other way around... I actually fell asleep watching the game around the 6th inning thinking Japan is going to lose... I just woke up and was shocked to find out they actually won lol Both teams did great. They really had a tough match.

    Awesome WBC games all the way around. Mexico did much better than anyone expected. Heck, couple of breaks here and there, and they might have even been 2023 WBC Champions. Venezuela to me were the best team in the WBC overall, just "one bad pitch" is the sole reason they did NOT advance, they too could easily been 2023 WBC Champions. USA really stunk vs. Mexico and squeeked by Columbia, However, here we are in the finals, so I have to give the USA credit for winning when it counts. I watched a lot of the games, and it was great seeing teams like the Czech Republic and Italy play. I also had to idea that Oz had a great baseball program, and they even beat the "mighty Koreans". This year's WBC is the best ever, and I am hoping the next one will be better!

    MLB has never produced such emotions in me as the WBC has. It’s absolutely vital to the future survival of the sport in the United States. This tournament should mean more to us like it does to these other countries. It is important and the numbers say so. 60% of a country’s population watching is nuts!
    Frankly, every MLB team should prioritize their best players performing well in the tournament. The views and new people you’re bringing into baseball last a lifetime and through bloodlines for generations. The love of the sport in America is not the same as Japan or TAIWAN.
    Taiwan had the best atmosphere of the entire tournament I want to see the MLB do a few games a season in Taiwan that would be wild. Grow the sport and get back into the Olympics so these guys are meeting every two years 😂

      Until Nippon Ham Fighters offered, Ohtani wasn't thinking about going 2 way in the pro league. The background is that, Shohei was truly upset at the Fighters because he declared that he wanted to go to U.S. and challenge MLB after graduating from high school. All other teams respected and didn't pick, the Fighters did, of course, first round. Shohei expressed his cloudiest reaction immediately, refused to even meet the scouts. 2 way offer might not be the first, but the team tried so many things to make Shohei feel comfortable joining the team, and the result is now.

    What an one-sided analysis and assuming Mexico was going to lose by 4+ pts was a disrespect to that team, minimal coverage and assume Sasaki was going to take over this legit Mexico pitching group, a few players were restricted by MLB, the W could’ve went to either team, some of us as fans of sport are proud of team Mexico and to competed in the strongest pool

    • @ShohTann
      @ShohTann Рік тому +1

      One-sided analysis is usually what you would see in international tournaments like this. Idk if you saw FIFA World Cup but nobody thought Japan would beat Spain and Germany in the group stage. Same thing, different sports.

      I think team Mexico has earned so many fans tonight. They are legit and that was why they beat team USA in the pool and beat Puerto Rico in quarter final. Randy Arozarena and Pat Sandoval were the heroes of the team tonight. They really carried the team. Benji Gil had been a great manager as well. I have a ton of respect for team Mexico.
